- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've been a music lover all my life and was originally interested in pursuing that as a career. I discovered the field of audio in my pursuit of music and found that the combination of technical expertise and creativity suited me. I was then hired to work for a post-production company in Chicago that specialized in TV and radio commercials and long format visual work. This kind of work allows for a different type of creativity and is also very satisfying, and the combination of my musical and post-production experience, has allowed me to straddle the line between the worlds, doing projects in both with equal appreciation.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure you find someone who is easy to communicate with, listens to you, and provides quality service. Make sure you can hear examples of their work. Make sure you get an estimate and understand whether that is a firm bid or a ballpark figure based on the information you give them. Be aware that the more specific you are in your request for services, the more accurate they can be in their quote.
