I feel as I officiate I'm telling a story. As I am officiating over your ceremony and saying the those words, I say them with sincerity. I have been married for 8 years and know marriage has highs and lows. I understand every couple is different and has different beliefs, but in the end we all want happiness. I am a full time elementary school teacher (this is my side job). I feel as though putting together a ceremony is a a lot like putting together a lesson plan. I work to create a ceremony with the couple in mind, integrating traditions, and religious beliefs or non-beliefs. I am also extremely flexible in planning (You'd have to be when dealing with a room full of 8 year olds all day). It's your day, your vision and I want your ceremony to be what you want it to be. I truly enjoy seeing two people coming together making that commitment to be with each other through it all. Each time I officiate, its even a moment for me to reflect on my own marriage. It reminds me of what it means to be married.
