Our two boys so look forward to their piano lessons every week. Joseph makes it fun. They practice without needing to be asked/reminded because they are eager to show Joseph and family members what they have learned. We know of all the cerebral benefits of learning to play, but it has been especially rewarding for us to listen to our children play the piano to express how they are feeling or set a ‘mood’ in the house. We are so grateful to Novella Piano.

Joseph has brought so much joy into my children's lives! They love having lessons with him, he is truly a wonderful teacher! Joseph is passionate about music and it shows. He also really knows how to connect with kids. My children feel excited, challenged, and respected. We are so thankful to have found him, he's fantastic and we highly recommend him!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Payments are made monthly for the month in advance- based on a per week payment calculator. Cancellations made outside of 24 hrs prior the scheduled lesson time will be rescheduled, and if rescheduling is not possible, the missed lesson will be deducted from the following month's payments. Cancellations made inside of 24 hrs by the student will result in a forfeited payment.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Every new student will receive a free introductory assessment to gauge the best process for proceeding so we can customize the lesson needs to each student. Once the best process has been established, lessons proceed on a weekly basis at the student's home or via an online method.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Emily Smeenge has her bachelors in piano performance from Judson University and is currently enrolled in a Master of Piano Performance program at NIU. Emily loves music and has a desire to inspire her students through music. Kaelin Schambach loves piano and credits it with much of her creative process and discipline. She currently runs a theater for kids and writes and produces her own plays. Joseph Schambach has done music for over 15 years and has competed in numerous piano competitions and completed the piano certificate program at Judson University.
