Scott was great. I was having trouble with walking my dog. We went for a long walk and he was not only training my dog but me as well. He gave me a lot of great advice and I am certainly going to work my best to get my dog to walk by my side. Thanks, Scott.
Sherry is a great lady. She is kind, encouraging, and very knowledgeable. She taught us a lot of great techniques and was a joy to work with. Would highly recommend her to help with any dog training needs --Denise S
Belinda is amazing!!! She does a wonderful job with both our dogs! She's even made them peanut butter puppy cookies. She gives us daily updates after her visit and sends photos. She even started training our one pup to sit before crossing the street! She is reliable, professional, trustworthy and a genuine lover of animals. Belinda is the best!
We rescued a Siberian husky puppy for a new addition to our family and for our kids to have a companion to play with. We were beside ourselves with just how much energy Kane had. We knew he could be an energetic breed but he was always running around and loved being outside all of the time; we live in an apartment complex. We were referred to Pawfect Training and felt very confident based on the reviews on the website and on Thumbtack. After our first appointment, we couldn't believe the amount of information being provided to us about the Siberian husky breed, about how Kane was relating to our family, about why his energy was always so high, and so, so much more. Matthew got our entire family involved in the training, including our 5-year-old. The basic obedience went incredibly well and the connection our whole family now shares with Kane is amazing. We all walk more now and Kane is calmer inside and even around other dogs he hasn't met. The whole experience with Pawfect Dog Training was one to remember and we are thankful for having found the right trainer for our incredible new family member!
I volunteered to assist the Navy in training recruits at RTC Great Lakes, while stationed here I wanted to find something to do with my time while I was here. I decided that I wanted to get dog and train the dog to be a therapy dog. I thought it was an outstanding way to provide love & affection for people that truly need it. I hand selected a female Golden Doodle, that I named Bella. I now needed to find a dog trainer to help me train Bella, after searching around for a few days, I was referred to Leslie Wooldridge, after meeting with Leslie and discussing the reason why I wanted to her to train Bella, she was very direct and up front about how it is going to be acommitment, and that it is a lot of work. I respected her honesty because I could see that she took pride in her work. I have been training with Leslie for almost a year now, and I am extremely happy that I chose her. The relationship between Leslie & Bella has been amazing, and the results of the training have aloud Bella to ace both the AKC "Canine Good Citizen" (CGC), and Therapy Dog International (TDI) certifications. I would highly recommend Leslie Wooldridge to anyone willing make the commitment to take the time necessary to get superior results.
Leslie put me at ease the moment she walked through my front door! She is so easy to talk to about any issues concerning my dog and takes the time and care to personalize training to that dogs needs. Her training method allows for the puppy parent to both see Leslie herself do it and then for me to do it myself, since us humans needs training too! It's very crucial that the puppy parents takes and use her guidance as it will pay off immensely! My puppy, Rhett, was constantly love biting for attention and bothering us during non play time, like dinner. Thanks to her training (me and Rhett that is, lol), he is not nipping and knows when we go to eat, it's not play time. He's also much improved with greetings, has better focus, and is well in his way to be an excellent Canine Citizen! We love, Leslie! 2 paws up! !
Scott did a great job with house training/off leash training with my dog, Penny, and later bird training.
Here is a little history, we adopted a tree walker coonhound from a shelter in Tennessee and brought him home to Wisconsin. The first month was ok as we all got adjusted to each other. There were counter surfing, mouthing and dominance issues from the beginning. We knew we had a stubborn ALPHA, ALPHA male but we were working through it. The dog and I had an altercation over a rawhide where he became very aggressive and tried to bite me. From that day forward he would try to attack me unsolicited any time he saw me or heard my voice. It got so bad I would have to lock myself in a room so my wife could let him out. I am 6',1" tall and 220 lbs, this is the first time in my life with all the dogs I've owned that I was afraid of a dog. We talked to many behaviorist's whom all said we should just rehome the dog and had no answers for us. I was determined not to give up and make things work because I knew that this was a good dog deep down inside. That is when I was recommend to Shelly at "Hair of the dog that bit ya". I got a great feeling from her right away on the phone and was intrigued by her explanation of how she handles her training of dogs (it was a much different approach from what I was hearing from everyone else). This is a large breed hunting dog who is aggressive and she knew exactly how to handle it. She came out the very next morning to a situation where everyone in the house was uneasy and afraid of this dog who now was in total control of the situation. Long story short after two hours Shelly had broken the dog had him taking commands from both my wife and myself. We felt like we had our lives back and believe it or not the dog seemed happier that he now knew the pecking order. This was truly a Christmas miracle for my entire family. The picture attached is from the same day where that morning my dog wanted to kill me and what he was like by the afternoon! I cannot thank Shelly enough and I am so excited for our new life together with Bohannon. Todd & Shelly Bloom
Dee was extraordinary when it came to answering my questions fully and completing the task in helping me become more successful with my Chihuahua. In one day the training methods made a huge difference and her calmness was a huge asset in maintaining my stability when I became nervous. Her positive attitude and true love of animals illuminated through immediately upon meeting her. I would highly recommended her for any behavior issues as well training. Her training is positive reinforment and that fits with my training as well. Like anything else this takes practice so I would follow through on the homework she gives to be successful. She writes back in the same day which tells me she cares about your animals success and you. She also writes a follow up letter after your visit to help you achieve a better understanding of your day. This is quite valuable as I can always go back and re-read this to help me. Dee gets 5 stars from me for covering all the basis in one visit.
Training our 10 month old Puppy.
Jim was the best! In 5 weeks (really just after the first lesson!) I had the confidence and tools to maintain my dog’s training. It made the world of difference walking my dog, Barney, each day when he would walk by my side and sit on command versus pulling the leashing and leading me. Barney loves our walks together, and I do too! He sits, stays and comes on command! I can't thank Jim enough for his patience and positive energy. His passion for dogs is obvious and I would recommend him to any/all families in need of training! Katie G.
Very thorough training experience. Nicole is knowledgable and patient. The ideal combination. My dog is so much easier to live with as a result of this training. I would definitely hire her again.
I could not say enough good things about working with Stephanie when it came to training my dog. I have a rambunctious bulldog who's a year and a half. Nothing but behavioral problems, nipping, chewing things, eating things, and not coming when called. She was always on time, patient with my dog and myself, and made me feel comfortable with having her take care of my pup. I would HIGHLY recommend having her train your dog. I was thoroughly impressed to say the least!! I fully intend on utilizing this training in the future with future dogs as well.
Jeanie Murray: Well, seven years ago Tom McMurchie worked with me and my 1-year old Labradoodle, Rush, in Phoenix AZ. I don't have adequate words to explain how wonderful the experience was. Tom was knowledgeable, professional, patient, humane, and just darn perfect. He trained me as well to make Rush an awesome, well-mannered family member. Then, Tom moved to Chicago. Rush is 8 years old (still perfect), but Tom has always been available for me to talk to him on the phone with dog-training advice. Then we brought a second Labradoodle into our home at 8 weeks old, Reagan. Do I ever wish Tom was still here to work with me and Reagan, who is a work in progress (almost 3 years old now). Actually, Tom did advise from afar when I had questions about Reagan. If you are looking for that perfect person to work with you and your dog, don't look any further than Tom McMurchie. Thanks, Tom!

With an animal behavior degree and experience in a wildlife rehabilitation center and dog daycare/boarding facility, I can provide the best care for your animal. This includes pet sitting, training, walking and more, with one-on-one attention!
I can train your dog to be obedient. I also walk dogs during my spare time. This a job I enjoy doing.
The way our program works, and of course why it is so successful, is that your dog actually lives with our trainers and their pack during the training, and quickly learns that this is not just a passing phase, but is a whole new way of life. This method of training not only gives a firm basic obedience foundation but also focuses on behavior modification- including annoying bad habits, socialization problems, anxiety issues and other concerns that simply cannot be addressed during basic obedience classes or lessons. Our board and train program is much more personal and effective than other options available as it is done in a home setting and gives your pup dedicated attention 24/7. We have found that training conducted in a home setting and in other real life circumstances, rather than just a kennel, training center, or retail store, transfers into the owner's homes and lives much easier. Most owners don't plan on living in a kennel, training center, or retail store, so it doesn't make much sense to teach your dog how to behave only when they are in one. We understand that you want your dog to be a dog and a functioning part of your family.
we stand out becuase we love what we do and love being around dogs
