About
My motto is “professional remodeling with a personalized touch,” and that truly guides every project I take on. I’m a master carpenter and cabinet maker by trade with over 40 years in business, leading a small team of five dedicated professionals.
From full home, kitchen, and bathroom remodels to finish carpentry, cabinetry, drywall, flooring, and tile, we focus on quality craftsmanship and details that fit your home and lifestyle. The real satisfaction for me is taking nothing and turning it into something that you’re proud to live in.
Licensed and committed to doing the job right the first time (License # 09LICR-0564), I treat every project as if it were my own home.
If you’re ready to update, repair, or reimagine your space, I’d be happy to talk through your ideas and options.

We are still in the early stages of our project, but Rick has been very helpful in determining what will work for us. He has responded quickly and provided good ideas for three projects in our home including a new bathtub, outdoor lighting, and decorative finishing.

These guys are GREAT!! I ordered a bathroom vanity and they swapped out my old crappy one for my new pretty one! They picked it up from the store, brought it here, installed it - it’s beautiful and the work is great. Including working around some weird pipes underneath the vanity. And the made sure it was all level on my not so level floor.
The guys made it work. Even though it took some more time. (They weren’t even going to charge me but I said “hey that was more complicated than you thought it was going to be and you got stuff off the truck.”
The first vanity to be delivered came damaged (totally Home Depot’s fault) so there was lots of waiting around for the new one and changing dates but the whole crew was patient and good natured about it all! I already showed them the next 3 projects!

I highly recommend using Hammell Homes for contractor work. Hammell Homes worked on a couple of projects in my building. Both projects were done with quality and at a fair price. I will definitely use Hammell Homes again for any housing repairs/projects in the future.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
No two projects are the same, and I know that sometimes my customers are on a tight budget. I do everything I can to work with them on giving a competitive rate for high-quality craftsmanship.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I provide free in-home estimates on any day except Sunday. After I take a look at what needs to be done, I send out an electronic estimate where customers can see a detailed itemized list of their project estimate, including price. I'm available by cell phone at any time to talk about a customer's project, no matter what stage it is in.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
The training started at a very young age of 10. I fell in love with wood working in middle school and excel through high school, winning awards and trophies for my projects. Stared working at Hines Lumber at the age of 15 and while in college, started working at Builders Square. Meanwhile working with several Master Carpenter and General Contractors learning the trades, before starting my own company at the age of 20 in 1986.
