- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes, As an Enrolled Agent I am required to complete 16 hours of continuing education per year and 2 hours in Ethics per year.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I decided to get into this line of work because I will do things I am afraid of to conquer my fear. When I was little my mom instilled a fear in me about "Uncle Sam". She fretted she would have to pay income tax every April 15th. Although she never owed I always remember she was so fearful of filing her tax return. I went to college after she died to get my degree. I love working with numbers so I took accounting courses. I found regular accounting boring so I decided to take some tax courses. I fell in love with tax. There was nothing to fear. I went on and became an Enrolled Agent. Now I alleviate the stress my clients feel every April 15th.
