FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Although a masters degree is considered sufficient for licensure, I continued my education to complete my PhD in 1997. I love to learn, both from books as well as from the experiences myself and others. Continuing education is a requirement in my field. In addition to formal coursework, I also participate in consultation with my peers.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always been drawn to the field of psychology, entering my own personal therapy encouraged my decision to become a therapist. I chose clinical social work because I thought it was the most compassionate of the mental health professions and offered the educational courses that focused entirely on the therapeutic process rather than other modalities.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Assess not only the training and experience, but also how comfortable you feel with me
