I have been training with Chitown trainers for several months. I attend the yoga classes and utilize the personal training service. The trainers are extremely professional and competent. The training has been the best training experience I have had because they work at your level and gradually build your tolerance and strength. I have experienced change in my ability to run, lift weight and my balance. I highly recommend their services, they are simply excellent!

I hired Mary to be a yoga instructor for my fitness retreat, and she was the perfect fit. She tailored the class for our needs (gentle yoga for sore muscles). I've done yoga for years with several different instructors, and I believe she is a wonderful teacher!

My experience with Lymphatic Drainage and Healing Touch performed by Dr. Sylvia Hood Washington I believe had a positive effect on reducing inflammation in my body. The few days after therapy I noticed less aches and pain in my muscles & joints. I hold a lot of stress related tension in my muscles, so it was great to have some relief. During the therapy Dr. Sylvia kept me informed with what she was doing and why she was doing it. I liked how she integrated different modalities along with the lymphatic draining. She incorporated some yoga stretching and breathing as well as healing touch techniques. On top of relieving some of my inflammatory muscle and joint pain, Dr.Sylvia found an inflamed lymph node under my arm. It was likely inflamed because I was feeling on the verge of a virus. She was able to drain the lymph node and we could no longer feel an inflamed lump under my arm. I believe this procedure helped me to beat the virus that never transpired. In addition to being a Certified Lymphatic Therapist, Dr. Sylvia has vast knowledge and expertise in the medical field as an Environmental Epidemiologist and Public Health Professional. She has the ability to treat a person holistically while helping them discover how their environment may be affecting their health issues. I would highly recommend Dr. Sylvia Hood Washington as a Nautropathic Doctor for Lymphatic Wellness.

This past November on Monday nights, I, for the first time ever, started to attend yoga classes with Steph as my instructor! Steph is truly an amazing yoga teacher! As soon as I get to class my stress level drops after the crazy day I have had and as we get started I know the next hour or so is going to be the best, most enjoyable part of my day ☺️ I haven't really taken yoga classes before, but Steph does an incredible job of showing you and helping you get into the perfect position for each and every single pose you do. I have only taken classes on Mondays this past month, but feel like I have learned so much! I also am already feeling like I am noticing some of the benefits of yoga including increased flexibility and strength, along with improved breathing, and better posture. Not to forget to mention that I think it has and will continue to be so great for me post ACL and meniscus surgery. I look forward to continuing taking classes with Steph and seeing more positive results from yoga in the future! I highly recommend her to anybody looking to start or continue the amazing practice of yoga πŸ™πŸΌ Steph is the best and has studied and done yoga all around the world and continues to do so, which makes her the best yogi and yoga instructor ever πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™

Kim Winston is by far one of the best yoga instructors I have had in my six years of taking classes. She has a nice style of teaching and does her homework by making the classes unique. I leave Kim's classes with a feeling of being refreshed and having a calmness. Yoga is so much more than getting in shape....it touches the mind, body and soul. It gets you connected to your inner self. Kim has that ability as an instructor to accomplish just that!

Hadley was my first yoga instructor, and though I do go to other classes, she's still the most caring, attentive and personable teacher. She's great at helping me go beyond what I'm currently able to do and provides excellent encouragement and support.

I'd say I stand out from other yoga teachers because I am very welcoming! We laugh in class, we smile. I talk about the postures and what they are doing for you and your body. I focus on alignment, calm, concentration and strength. My class is a strong class. I do not teach hot yoga, I do not teach yoga with weights. Just good-old Yoga!

      About

If you think that learning to touch your toes or even standing on your head is the whole of yoga, you have missed most of its bounty, most of its blessings, and most of its beauty. Yoga releases the creative potential of life. The light that yoga sheds on life is something special; it is transformative. It does not just change the way we see things; it transforms the person who sees. It brings knowledge and elevates it to wisdom. - Sri B.K.S. Iyengar I started my yoga practice at McGaw YMCA in Evanston, Illinois at the ripe age of 20. My first teacher was a sweet Dutch lady named Ine. If you want to know yoga before yoga was a brand, please go visit Ine at the YMCA. She's an absolute delight and yoga in its purest form. I am a registered hatha yoga instructor through the Temple of Kriya in Chicago. I graduated in 2006 and began teaching the day after. I currently lead group classes downtown Chicago and work with private clients building personalized yoga programs. Passionate about my personal practice as a student and teacher, I try to bring humor and lightness to my classes. A perfect class for me would have lots of child poses and a super long savasana. Of course, a few planks and boat poses would add a nice balance. In my yoga practice, I employ numerous styles of hatha and vinyasa flow. As well, I completed training with The Global Yoga Center prenatal yoga teacher program. I have trained with Baron Baptiste, Kathryn Budig, Seane Corn, Suddha Weixler and other esteemed yoga instructors. I am a 200hr registered yoga teacher (RYT) through Yoga Alliance.
