I started my Wedding Coordinating business in 2013 and had a very DIY website that I haphazardly threw together. Fortunately I managed to find clients despite that trainwreck but never really felt proud of how it looked. Fast forward to spring of 2017 when I was determined to update and overhaul the whole look and feel of my website. I sent out some feelers to local businesses and got immediate feedback from Adam Khan who not only had already looked at my website but made some suggestions right off the bat and had some tips based on other similar company’s websites. He made it easy for me by providing links to browse through and saved me time with his own ideas. He was extremely proactive with providing options and thankfully very patient and flexible with scheduling our meetings. I had a newborn at the time and was a bit fried. Adam helped me so much by just knowing what he was doing and listening to the ideas I had. I gave him bits and pieces to work with and he brought it all to life for me. I love the website he created for me and show it off whenever I can. I absolutely recommend Adam for any design needs. A quote I have on my own website is, “Give yourself the gift of time,” and I feel that’s exactly what I did when I hired Adam, because he made this whole process so easy for me.

I would not hire anyone else for a graphic design job after having worked with Bryan. He is patient, creative, accommodating and most importantly he helped with my son’s project in less than 24 hours and he wanted my son to also understand everything, so he provided him with a tutorial as well. What more can one ask for? We are so impressed with the final product and with the process. We got way more than we paid for. Very highly recommended! Again, I would hire him first before anyone else! We will return and I have already recommenddd him to my neighbor for his high quality no hassle help. This is more than we had hoped to get. Thank you!

Anna was able to take a concept I had for a mural, design something more beautiful than I could ever imagine, and complete it in a matter of days. She was extremely professional, efficient, and timely. I would be honored to commission more work from her in the future.

Amazing work! Brad Atwell absolutely nailed our packaging desgin and brand execution, exceeded expectations. He is an artist and visionary storyteller that helped us refresh our globally recognized brand by creating strategy-driven design solutions, unique content, and experiences. His work helped stimulate bold actions internally and produce lasting impact among our core consumers. All of his work is underlined by his core philosophy, “Discard everything that means nothing to create something meaningful and lasting.” Working with him was truly a partnership and we felt that he listened carefully to our input and distilled it into a unique brand system that works for our products, our customers, and our bottom line. We very much look forward to working with him again.

About

During recent years, I have had the chance to hone my design capabilities in different ways. While working towards a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, I gained hands-on experience as a freelance designer. Among my clients are local Aurora businesses and the Dieterich Elementary School in Aurora, Illinois. I created designs for their multiple fund-raisers and promotions ranging from ads to business cards. In these projects, I have worked with Mac OS X, as well as Windows. In addition, I have in-depth knowledge of top design software, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Using these programs, I created a poster to advertise a winter course at my university, North Central College, and I worked closely with the professor to achieve the desired product. I have learned that good communication and listening skills are essential for a graphic designer, as the customer's needs and concerns come first. I am a team player to the core but am also at ease when working alone. I have attached a copy of my resume as well as a link to my online portfolio for your reference. I hope you will find enough evidence of my capabilities as a graphic designer. Thank you for taking the time to go through my profile. If you would like me to provide further information or to set up an interview, please don't hesitate to call or e-mail me. Sincerely, Karen Riscos

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What makes a good logo design?

A good logo is an easily identifiable, memorable image that represents your brand. A good logo design aligns with your business model and expresses your company’s core values. A good logo design is simple, appealing, and easy for customers and viewers to quickly process. Some of the key components of a great logo are type, color palette and design. The scale, font and arrangement of the text you select will all make a difference in the feel and representation of your brand. A graphic designer will help you home in on the colors that best represent your identity and help you keep the color palette simple. The design of your logo includes the shapes you select and the way the color and type are arranged together. Investing in the services of a professional to create your logo design is likely a smart investment for any size business. Nationally, the average price range for a logo designer ranges from $170 to $250.

How much does it cost to create a logo?

Logo design is an important part of your company’s brand development. More than an image with text and color, a logo communicates the tone and personality of your company to your potential customers. Hiring a graphic designer with an appealing portfolio and quality reviews is a solid start to creating a winning logo design. The cost to create a logo can depend on how in-depth the marketing and design services you request are. Designers can create one logo in multiple formats (horizontal, vertical, etc.) to fit both your website and social media platforms, they can create a variety of designs for clients to select from, or they can create multiple logos for one client who needs branding for more than one venture. Logos may be text-only, text and image, or image-only. Many designers and design firms charge by the hour for their services, while other companies offer packages bundled with design services. Here are some examples of cost:

  • National average cost to hire a logo designer: $170-$250.
  • Average hourly rate for a freelance marketing consultant: about $150.
  • Tiered pricing for logo design packages from one firm:
    • Package One: $200 for three logo concepts, three rounds of revision, and a variety of format and color end designs.
    • Package Two: $350 for 10 logo concepts, unlimited rounds of revision, and a variety of format and color end designs.
    • Package Three: $550 for everything included in the Package Two, plus business card design, letterhead design, social media graphics and an email signature.
    • Package Four: $850 for everything in the Package Three, plus custom brand guidelines, which outline a strategy for creating a consistent branding in the client’s business.
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
