Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I have a passion for helping people grow, learn, and achieve their personal, family, professional and life goals through good counseling. I have over 15 years experience as a clinical counselor (LCPC), addictions counselor (CRADC), substance abuse professional (SAP), and employee assistance counselor. I have years of experience as counselor and counselor educator. I am also a Teaching Associate of Medicine at UIC school of Medicine in Rockford and Adjunct Faculty at Northern Illinois University. I teach and train other counselors, medical students, and graduate counseling students. I counsel individuals, families, and couples, including adults, adolescents, and children. I enjoy counseling adults, adolescents, and children to help enhance quality of life, improve relationships, and achieve personal, family, and professional goals. I love helping people overcome internal and external challenges in a supportive and encouraging counseling atmosphere to find and live the life they've always wanted to live.

FAQs

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Try to find a counselor who has experience dealing with whatever issue you want to tackle. Most have a list of specialities and populations they have experience working with. Find someone whose profile you like and you think you might feel comfortable with. Then make an appointment and talk to the counselor about what you want to accomplish and ask him or her how they would approach helping you reach your goal(s). One of the most important things in counseling success is the quality of the therapeutic relationship. If you don't feel comfortable during the introductory session then you can try another counselor until you find what you are looking for.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Counseling is not just for serious mental illness. Almost everyone can benefit from good counseling to help us achieve individual, professional, personal, and/or family goals. Almost everyone can benefit from having a trained professional help us work through our struggles when life gets challenging. It is also a great experience having someone safe to bounce things off when we get confused and are not sure what is the right thing to do or the right path in life to take.
