Introduction: At Two Men Labor, we excel in customer service and professionalism. I am an ex-wrestler from Wheaton College, and have been providing moving services in the Chicagoland area for over three years. In those three years I have learned a lot. Not every job has gone perfectly, but if you look at our reviews, you will see that we work hard and excel at being fair and professional with our customers. Additional to our hard work ethic, we charge reasonable prices.

Local Moving (under 50 miles)

Jake was very responsive, professional and reasonable in his quoting to the final moving process. He and his team member did a great job moving furniture and boxes from a house to a third-floor unit without breaking anything, placed items in the right places, and assembled the bed for me. I felt comfortable along the way. Thank you for the work you do.

Furniture Moving and Heavy Lifting

I wish I could pick all five items in the "What did you like about working with Two Men Labor" question, because all five options are accurate. I accidentally gave them the wrong moving date, but they were extremely accommodating in shifting their schedule around so they could help me when I needed them the most. They took great care of my furniture and other belongings, and enabled us to move out of our old home on time. I am very grateful for their professionalism and flexibility!

Piano Moving

I needed a piano moved to the other side of the house before our new hardwood floors were installed. Two Men Labor was able to come out the next morning and perform the move for me. Very nice guys. Took care in moving the piano down a couple steps and across to the other side of the house. Very happy.

Furniture Moving and Heavy Lifting

Jacob and his helper were awesome! We had some unique things to move in tight spaces and they did everything we asked. Thanks much, Jacob. I would recommend them highly.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    - Minimums: For small jobs, it's important for customers to know about our minimums. For moving jobs without a truck, we have a $245-$265 minimum depending on where you are located. With a truck, our minimum is between $315-$545 depending on where you are located and the date you are planning to book. If you're only moving a few items and we expect it to take less than half an hour, we can drop our minimum to $205 for half an hour of work. It costs a lot to receive leads from these sites, and so it's important for us to focus on bigger jobs. Discounts: If you hire us for moving, we include junk removal of furniture items, clothes, and other donation items for a much lower price. Rather than counting it as a "Junk removal" fee, we donate the items at a local charity as part of the move.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

In order to avoid mistakes and miscommunications, we always go through the details with customers. For a small job of 1-2 items, this takes about thirty seconds. For a larger job, we ask for either a list of the items being moved, or pictures of the items. Sometimes we have to ask specific questions about the items such as which ones are fragile. With T.V.s we have to ask if the customer has a T.V. box, or if they want one from us. We also ask about stairs, elevators, hallways, and parking. We do not move marble, fine stones, or art pieces valued over $250. If you have one of these items, please let us know before the job, as we cannot move these types of items/ cannot cover them if damage occurs.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    - I've been doing this work for about three years now. I have had jobs where furniture broke, I've had jobs where things went well, and I've learned from both. From these experiences, I've learned the value of being fair and generous with customers, and I've learned that the best way to grow a business is to take care of others and to fulfill their needs.
