The people hired to do a job need to be the ones who are familiar with the work and plan accordingly. The customer doesn't move junk for a living and is likely making these arrangements for the first time. These two young men had a different idea of the work needed and were unprepared to complete the job. They left the work site with the job incomplete. I would have appreciated them offering solutions and renegotiating the fee rather than explaining that they can't complete the job.Mar 25, 2017VerifiedTwo Men Labor's reply
We came in being told there were 2-3 pieces of furniture. There were about 8-9. There was also a stove. We had told the client over the phone prior to our arriving that the stove must be detached from the gas line. It not being detached became a liability issue for us. Client was also not at home. She left her friend to overview the job. I don't like leaving a job undone, but there was nothing else for us to do. The client had been dishonest over the phone, and we had a moving job scheduled after her job. We took as much furniture as we could, and did as much as we could do, with the information we had been given. If you're reading this review, please read our other reviews as well. We are hard workers, and will do everything in power to get a job done.
Local Moving (under 50 miles)
The movers were prompt, diligent and very hard working. I'd recommend them to anyone who needs moving, junking or other projects that require tedious type of work.Apr 13, 2017Verified
Two Men Labor met all my moving needs and it was a large job! They were on time and completed it efficiently. I will be using their service again!Jul 29, 2018Verified
I loved the fact they were 2 hardworking college entrepreneurs. They were professional, on time, communicative and eager to please. Their cost was the best out there. They also perform other jobs such as moving and landscaping. I would recommend them to all out there and would not hesitate to call upon them again.Oct 31, 2017Verified
My only advice would be to get the booties that cover your feet so that you don’t dirty your clients floor as I had to mop the whole living room afterwards due to the snow.Feb 15, 2018Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?- Minimums: For small jobs, it's important for customers to know about our minimums. For moving jobs without a truck, we have a $245-$265 minimum depending on where you are located. With a truck, our minimum is between $315-$545 depending on where you are located and the date you are planning to book. If you're only moving a few items and we expect it to take less than half an hour, we can drop our minimum to $205 for half an hour of work. It costs a lot to receive leads from these sites, and so it's important for us to focus on bigger jobs. Discounts: If you hire us for moving, we include junk removal of furniture items, clothes, and other donation items for a much lower price. Rather than counting it as a "Junk removal" fee, we donate the items at a local charity as part of the move.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? In order to avoid mistakes and miscommunications, we always go through the details with customers. For a small job of 1-2 items, this takes about thirty seconds. For a larger job, we ask for either a list of the items being moved, or pictures of the items. Sometimes we have to ask specific questions about the items such as which ones are fragile. With T.V.s we have to ask if the customer has a T.V. box, or if they want one from us. We also ask about stairs, elevators, hallways, and parking.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?- I've been doing this work for about two years now. I have had jobs where furniture broke, I've had jobs where things went well, and I've learned from both. From these experiences, I've learned the value of being fair and generous with customers, and I've learned that the best way to grow a business is to take care of others and to fulfill their needs.
