Ellen stayed at our house and took care of our many pets (dogs, cats, hedgehogs, guinea pigs, chickens). She did a great job. I would highly recommend her as a pet sitter and will be calling her back when we go out of town next time! The animals were taken care of very well and we were kept up to date on how they were doing while we were gone. Great job Ellen!!

I hired Lesley to do a move-out clean for my house. She was very responsive to message and her price was reasonable. My house smells really good after she cleaned it (love it). I like that we were able to do walk trough inside the house together, and when I need couple spots to be cleaned more, she was on it! I hope you can add carpet steam into your service in the future, that would be a plus for your service. Lastly, thank you so much Lesley for your service, Best of luck for you!

Duane took care of my beagle-mix dog whenever I needed to be gone overnight. He was so dependable (often making time for us at the last minute) and it is obvious that he really cares about our 4-legged friends.

I am a disabled person and I had called upon Monica to assist me in purchasing groceries. i gave her my debit card, a grocery list and sent her upon her way. Upon her return she gave me back my debit card, my receipt and all of the groceries on my list. I can call upon Monica to assist me with a multitude of jobs - laundry, house cleaning, grocery shopping - and always get outstanding results.

    About

My business has not been able to grow much over the past couple of years, but we do not let that bring us down with our wonderful services, which include organizing, cleaning and helping move furniture around as well as cleaning out all those dirty rooms you want to turn into a great, clean little office or playroom. My business is a family business, and pretty much prices vary from what all you would like to have done. We are also great house-sitters and pet lovers. We do it all pretty much to cooking dinner for your family or just yourself. Most of the time, there is normally at least two of us who come in and talk more about everything you want from us, and we will love to just put a stressful dirty house and unhappy pets and loved ones into nothing but pure smiles.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

    What is house sitting?

A house sitter watches your house while you are away for work or vacation, or if you have to be away for an extended period. House sitters can also provide pet-sitting services, staying in your home and caring for your pet while you are away. The house sitter can say overnight in your home while you’re gone, or stop by once a day to ensure everything is in order if your pet doesn’t need overnight supervision. Reptiles and most cats are just fine with daily visits and feeding.

House sitting provides major advantages to the homeowner. A regular presence in your house deters break-ins and theft. Home safety issues such as water leaks get noticed and dealt with right away, so you don’t come home to big problems. A house sitter can bring in your mail daily, care for your houseplants, and provide home safety and peace of mind.

How do I find a reliable house sitter?

House sitting can help keep your home safe and well cared for so you can be worry-free while you’re away for work or play. There are several steps you can take to make sure you hire a trustworthy house sitter and do your part to be a responsible host. One of the best ways to ensure a safe home is to hire a professional house sitter. Here are some key points to look for when hiring a house sitter:

    • Reviews and referrals: When searching for a house sitter, always read reviews. Previous experiences will indicate how the house sitter will care for your home while you’re away.
    • Contract: Sign a clearly written contract outlining services to be provided (e.g., mail in each day by 5 p.m.), the daily rate you are paying, and how long the services will be provided. You can also include any agreed-upon house rules in the written contract.
    • Your part: Leave important phone numbers (vet, emergency contact, etc.) and information on where to find emergency items like the circuit breaker and the fire extinguisher, and have a credit card on file with the veterinarian in case of emergencies if the house sitter is watching your pets.
