If you are looking for an honest, stress-free and thorough extermination service look no further than LeadTech Pest Services... Where do I even start?.. Dennis Duckworth is personable on a level that is rarely seen in most professions, and his refreshing honesty reflects the dedication and commitment to give you the comfort and security back in your home you deserve. If you are tired of being told outrageous estimates with lengthy fee-ridden consultations only to have the treatment fail and/or needing repeated exposure and costly repeat services, you could not be in better hands than with LeadTech Pest Services. It's people like Dennis Duckworth who represents what I consider to be the golden standard in quality and service for not only extermination, but overall business management and customer satisfaction. Other exterminators I called gave me unclear estimates and consultation fees totaling 3-4x the price that LeadTech was able to offer. He was able to accommodate my busy schedule and even pay me a visit to our house within 12 hours of calling due to my recent back surgery and needing my bed for rest. I called him after-hours and while he was out running errands and still made it his priority to talk me through the preparation, consultation and procedure and told me exactly when he could make it out the very next afternoon and (if needing to) begin treatment SAME DAY. I was blown away. You really can't make a bigger statement to the level of satisfaction you strive to provide to your customers than that. Some companies only "claim" to have fantastic service directed towards the benefit of the customer, it's only the very best that put their money where there mouth is so to speak. Some people still know how to run an honest and noble business, and LeadTech is, without a shadow of a doubt, one of the best. Although I hope we never have to again, I will be using LeadTech for all my exterminating needs and would recommend to ANYONE looking for an honest company and honest price unrivaled by even the largest "name brand" headache-inducing exterminators. Keep up the fantastic work Dennis! I have already recommended you to my friends and family so hopefully others will follow in allowing you to assist and correct what others only try to do. Unbelievable customer service, thoroughness, and overall honesty. Two thumbs WAY up!

I have had an infestation of ants, and Scott was a pleasure to work with and went out of his way to make sure every area of my condo was treated. Affordable, on time and a guarantee if the ants show up again, he will come back and re-treat. Highly recommend.

Syed was easy to work with as well as very personable, punctual, and professional. We recently moved into our newly built house; so did the ants. We're still here, the ants are not!

Bugs B-Gone came out on time, did an assessment of my situation, made suggestions on how to combat the issue, and applied the insecticide inside and out. The ants are no longer an issue.

Roger was a fantastic professional and the service provided, ( spraying my back yard for mosquitos) worked wonders! He even asked of there were other pests we had problems with and when we described our small ant infestation, he sprayed a solution for the ants on the outside of the house, no extra charge. The results have been astounding. I couldn't be happier with the dramatic decline in insects and will definitely be using Rysect in the future!

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What do pest control companies do?

Pest control companies handle all aspects of bug, rodent and animal extermination or removal. Pest control professionals visit your home or office to identify the type of pest that is troubling you and offer various treatment plans — complete with clearly outlined costs. Once you and the pest control company have a signed agreement, the pro will begin treatment. Pest treatment can range from the use of spray pesticides and gel bait to live and/or kill traps. There are a wide range of types of pesticides, many of them nontoxic for humans and other small animals. This means you may be able to have your home treated for pests without harming nearby wildlife or your dog and cat. The pest control pro will carry out the treatment plan and, depending on the service agreement, provide follow-up such as emptying traps, inspecting access points, or reapplying pesticide spray if the pests return. Costs will vary based on the type of pest you are having removed and the extent of the infestation. The average national pest control price range is $80-$130. From a minor bedbug event to an entire home termite infestation, pest control companies have got you covered.

How much does it cost to treat a house for termites?

Termites are not only creepy-crawly, they can literally eat your house out from underneath you. Termites feed on damp and dry wood and can chomp through your house at an alarming rate. The national average pest control cost for termite extermination is $240-$400. Treatment costs can be higher for an extensive infestation. Here are some examples of average pest control costs for termites:

    • Liquid treatment of subterranean termites: $3-$4 per linear foot.
      • For $75 per year, a company may offer a maintenance plan that provides inspection of the property and renewal of the warranty.
    • Liquid treatment of subterranean termites: approximately $400 for a 2,000-square-foot home at $3-$5 per linear foot.
      • The price is higher for additional work such as foaming and drilling inside of concrete slabs.
    • Fumigation treatment of drywood termites: $1,200-$1,500 for a 30,000- to 35,000-cubic-foot home
      • Fumigation is measured in cubic feet because it fills the airspace of the home and infiltrates the wood that the termites may be colonizing. The cost of fumigation is affected by the number of levels in the home as well as the square footage.

How much does it cost to get rid of cockroaches?

Cockroaches are not only ugly, they are difficult to get rid of. Quick and resilient, they can be hard to get rid of without professional help once they have inhabited a house. Nationally, the average range for cockroach pest control cost is $80-$130. Extermination professionals typically provide a free estimate to determine the extent of the infestation. They’ll check for the main sources of the bugs, identify bug access and entry points into your home, and determine the best method for elimination. There are a variety of cockroach extermination tools including gel baits and traps, pesticide foggers, desiccants (which dry out the cockroaches), neurotoxins, and other pesticides. Pest control costs can also cover preventive measures like regular spraying and trap maintenance. Some regions of the country are much more prone to cockroach problems than others, so pest control costs may need to be part of your quarterly budget. Cockroaches love dark, humid, and warm areas and water sources, so place traps near your washer and dryer and under your sinks.

How much does it cost to remove a mouse?

If you have a mouse in your house you’re probably quickly researching pest control costs. Mice, although tiny, can transmit diseases and also get into your food and leave unsanitary droppings around your home. If you have seen one mouse in your house, it’s likely that more have taken up residence in your crawl space, attic or basement. The national average pest control cost is $150-$200. Costs can vary depending on whether you need to get rid of a population of living mice or just dispose of a dead mouse (or full traps), how extensive the mouse population is, and where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pest control cost for removing a mouse:

    • $150 for initial trap setup and inspection (and sealing of entry holes).
      • $50 for rodent removal service calls and emptying of traps. This visit can also include identifying and sealing entry points that were not sealed on the first visit.
    • Rodent extermination: $110-$350, depending on how heavy the rodent population is, whether the mouse infestation poses health risks, how many entrances exist and how many rodent bait stations are needed.

How much does it cost to get a pest inspection?

In general there is no cost for a pest inspection. Exterminators typically provide a free property or building inspection and then provide you with a written estimate outlining the necessary treatment and cost. The home visit allows the exterminator to assess the problem and let you know what your pest control cost will be if you contract with their services. You may need a termite inspection for real estate purposes. This will be a verified inspection showing that the house in question is termite-free (often done before a sale). The inspection may cost a flat rate, such as $125-$150, depending on house size.

It’s hard to predict pest control costs sight unseen due to the variety of factors that go into pest treatment. For example, a bedbug problem for one customer may be confined to one room and be easy to access and treat in one visit if the room is clear of clutter and the bedbugs have been caught early. In another home, a bedbug problem may also be confined to one room, but there’s a great deal of clutter, providing more hiding places for the bugs and requiring more spray and labor for the exterminator, as well as many pieces of large furniture in the room that need to sprayed. Depending on the maturity of the infestation, a bedbug problem may require multiple visits to entirely eliminate. This is why many companies provide a free inspection to determine pest control costs and provide you the most accurate quote possible.
