Description
Students will learn:
* All styles of drum set, including rock, pop, country, jazz, and latin
* Rudimentary snare drum
* Reading Music (for school band and pop charts)
* Keeping steady tempo
* Balancing your overall drum kit sound
* Playing grooves and fills of your favorite band/drummer
Jonathan Cogswell is a drummer/percussionist who has attended Musician's Institute in Hollywood, California and is a graduate of Anderson University with a Bachelor's of Music degree in Instrumental Performance. He has an extremely diverse musical background, recording with and playing in musicals, orchestras, jazz bands, country bands, rock bands, and church worship bands. Some acts Jonathan has been a part of include: Indianapolis Civic Theater, Anderson Symphony Orchestra, Sarah Scharbrough, Corey Cox, Peter Verdell (Act As If), and Sandi Patti.

Jonathan, before he went off to college was the best drummer in our church. Even the current drummer thought so. I am the keyboard player and enjoyed every second I got to jam with this talented guy.

I've used Jon in some session work. And wow. This guy is fun to work with,, knowledgable, super nice, laid back, had great gear, and a fantastic player. Just wish I hadn't moved so I could continue to use him!

Jonathan has been my son's drum instructor for several years. I can't say enough good things about him. Always nice, always positive - he has a great way with kids. He gives my son the right amount of challenge and directs him in a way that is always helpful, not critical.
