Lacie B. says, "I could cry. Literally. TLDR/ Za; AA Plumbing & Drain went above and beyond, passed the moon to help me. Communication was consistent. They were on time. The work was excellent. They tested, cleaned up and were available for questions.
Now the long story.
Saturday, I had Za and his company come out to install plumbing hookups in a house I just bought. We have a sun room that I’m turning into a mud room so I had him install the plumbing for the washer, dryer and plumbing for a sink. He was confident, he informed me of details along the way, he made sure I understood what was installed, what to do if I get a clog, how to adjust the p trap when I pick out a sink cabinet. He let me know where the piping would run to and let me decide if it was okay for him to cut out drywall so it wouldn’t be out in the open. He also removed a vanity sink and toilet from a bathroom I gutted and capped those off. Again, before doing anything major, they made sure I was okay with it. Some people might not realize that in order to get to piping to remove/cap it off that you might have to cut into the wall, so I appreciated the communication.
Before they left, they completely cleaned up the old laundry room… they didn’t mess up the laundry room. There was junk from the previous owner stuck behind the washer and dryer and they didn’t just leave it there… they cleaned it all up. Not only that, they moved and installed my washer as well as testing it. Honestly I wasn’t expecting that. In my mind I’m thinking, they are here to run pipes, not lug around and hookup a big washer. It gets better… my dryer.. my dryer is a propane dryer. Im actually switching to an electric dryer. So when he unhooked that and pulled it out, he was surprised that it was propane… I told him oh, no it’s okay. Im not using that anymore. This man could’ve just left that dryer there as is but instead… he pulled it out of the laundry room, capped off the propane line and moved the propane tank to the back of the house. That’s not what I hired him to do. It’s not even in the scope of work and yet, he did it. And he did a great job.
It gets even better…
The next day, my HVAC guy came out to remove all of my radiant baseboard heating. They’re connected to the boiler, where the hot water runs through them. So, when Sunday night rolls around, I’m disgusting, sweaty ready to have a hot shower to unwind… what do you know, there’s no hot water. I message my HVAC guy because he was the last one fiddling with all of the units and my husband took a hot shower on Saturday when za finished his work. My HVAC guy immediately assumed it was my Plumber (za)… and me not knowing a dang thing about radiant heaters, boilers, oil tanks, all these valves in the ceiling… I reached out to Za. Za confirmed that he only used the main water shut off, did not do anything from the boiler and of course tested it before he left… I’m like, yeah… yeah you did! So I went back to HVAC guy and he said he would come out to take a look… every day for 4 days he had an excuse on why he couldn’t come, but I trusted him so I was cool about it, I get being busy. Before he came out he said the mixing valve might be bad and if it is, he will give me a price… um, no… no you won’t. It doesn’t just go bad the moment you work on it, so if you broke it, you pay for it. I didn’t say it like that but, that’s the gist. He said okay, and he will cover it if that’s the problem. He came out, said he was there for an hour and couldn’t figure out why I didn’t have hot water but noted that water isn’t being fed into the boiler and then pointed fingers back to Za.
So here I am going back and forth between these two… za came immediately, same day, to double check, confirmed his work was good. He then came out a second time (he actually told me he was going to come out and tell me exactly what was wrong with the boiler) with a work partner of his team and immediately he saw the issue. The HVAC guy had cut off the circulating pump. The HVAC guy said “I didn’t know you would need that” za and his team explained the entire reason to me why it was necessary so I could let my HVAC guy know, and my HVAC guy had the nerve to have me ask them questions. It was that moment, I knew I trusted the wrong company to do my HVAC. Instead of ignoring me or getting annoyed with questions that were unrelated to his work, and not caused by him, he helped me every step of the way so I could pretty much tell the HVAC guy that HE screwed up, and here’s why.
THEN… the damn water filter tank started screaming and pouring water all over the basement floor😩 my husband is already mad and I have to quickly figure out what to do… I called za and he immediately answered, and told me exactly what to do without hesitation AND OFFERED TO COME OUT THAT MOMENT!!! He lives an hour away! I said no, he’s done way more than he even should have. He told me to turn off all the valves to stop water from going in or out of the tank. He then called me back to explain to me that turning off ALL valves means I won’t have water to the rest of the house, so he told me which valve exactly to turn back on so the filtration tank is not being supplied but the house is. He then called back AGAIN to educate me on something else, I can’t remember but. At this point I feel terrible because it’s not his job to clean up someone else’s mess and he really helped me understand what happened so that I can go back to HVAC and get him to fix his errors.
Anyways.. 1,000,000/10 would recommend.
I would post pictures but my house is a rehab/Reno and there’s nothing pretty to look at. Just pvc piping lol."See more
