Both of our jobs were more complicated than we knew (our pipes go back to 1977.l), but he tackled the bathroom drain first and kept at it - not charging us for the hour it took to run to the store for the best replacement materials he could find. The new drain and stopper are beautiful and serviceable. Then he worked on the garbage disposal. (I had accidentally dropped a small screw into it and couldn’t see or reach it.) He took it apart - showed us what he was doing and explained that the screw must be lodged out of sight somehow. We thought we’d have to buy a new one, which he offered to install the next day. But when he put it back together again and tried it (we put a batch of ice cubes through it) it worked! Working fine ever since. He worked hard and patiently through the dinner hour - and we talked a little about how he came from Russia to the U.S. and all the skills he learned from his father (as well as from university). Russ is Russian by birth - still learning English. As an English teacher, my favorite author and composer are Russian. Good to talk to him. I wish him every success. My husband and I are glad to have met him and will definitely call him again."See more

Having being customer service manager for about a decade, I know a great service when I receive one. Greg did an excellent job. Not only did he take the time to explain how water softener works, he completed the job to my requirements, taught me part of it and was timely responsive when needed. He was better priced than corporation plumbers that suggested useless work to bump up their service labor cost. that I cannot recommend him highly enough.

I hired Luke for a collapsed basement tile ceiling and lights from previous faulty contractor or homeowner work, allowing the weight of the fluorescent lights to collapse the tile grid. I’m submitting a review for two primary reasons: 1) He quickly responded, made it out for a quote within a more-than-reasonable timeframe, and scheduled me for a swift repair. 2) He was exceptionally friendly, nice, and professional. He ensured I knew what he had done at every step of the way, including what he had done differently from the previous contractor. He inquired if I wanted to replace some cracked tiles and then picked them up while taking a late lunch. I really cannot say enough how glad I am I hired him. It was probably a pretty simple job for him, but he treated it with the same level of care and professionalism as a high-cost or labor-intensive job. I plan on using him again, both in the near-future and long-term.

Miguel was very responsive to initial project request which I made late Sunday morning- within 2 hours he accepted the project and it was scheduled exactly at my requested day/time (the very next day!) A plumbing company had previously visited and had given me an expensive quote for the 3 jobs I needed done. They had also mis-diagnosed a water leak in my kitchen telling me it was from my expensive German (albeit 18 years old) faucet. Miguel immediately determined the leak was actually from a water line attached to our garbage disposal. Instead of having to replace the faucet (with a much cheaper one we had acquired) we were thrilled to keep the superior faucet and returned the unnecessary one saving us money. Yeah!! Miguel also ran into rusted bolts when replacing our bathroom faucets and with one of his employees he removed the sink top to accomplish the task and reinstalled it with caulking. (Our hot water faucet had been frozen and unusable). The 3rd part of the project was repairing a Kohler toilet. They completely removed the tank and Miguel drove over to Lowe’s and found the necessary part to finish the job. I was able to assist by running to Lowe’s myself to buy replacement water lines for both sinks and the toilet allowing him to continue working but was unable to find the part needed for the toilet. I really appreciate him making the visit himself and he didn’t even charge us for the part!! Miguel was here for 6 hours but only charged us for 5. He made a quick return visit the following day (within an hour of my request) to swap the hot/cold water lines (that I had neglected to check) to make sure we were satisfied. Miguel was professional, personable, friendly. His expertise was clearly evident on all 3 segments of the project. It saved us 2/3rds of the plumbing companies labor quote. We’d hire him again in a heartbeat! What a great contractor!! We’re also thankful for Thumbtack- the app was seamless to use and free of charge.
