Craig came yesterday on time and painted a fence, cleaned my gutters, and laid mulch down. Outstanding work!
I needed someone to paint the ceilings in two bedrooms, a hallway and a spot in the kitchen. Jake provided me with a quick quote that was extremely reasonable. He was prompt in responding to my messages and accommodated my schedule for completing the job. He was on time and finished the work in less time than I thought it might take and with good results. I enjoyed chatting with him and felt comfortable having him in my home. I will likely use him again for future paint jobs!
Shannon did a great job on installing our decorative metal fence. Great communication during the entire process and will definitely use him in the future.
Difficult to give a very positive nor a very negative review of James' work. He repaired my 2-storey chimney with stucco, by installing a wire mesh around the existing (bad) brick and applying stucco around the entire chimney. James promised to have a smooth finish, nice looking, non-leaking chimney when all was done. At time of this writing, my chimney's finish is not smooth, and it looks OK. Whether or not it leaks we will see, but it appears to be well sealed. A few details: 1. The project was started more or less on time, but the project took 3-4 weeks longer - and - quality was below what he'd promised. 2. In general, James was responsive via text, pleasant to work with, and my expectations of the quality of his work were high based on our communication. However, he seemed to promise dates/quality that ultimately were not delivered. Perhaps he could scale down on the promised delivery so as to manage customer expectations as well as provide a realistic picture of the finished product. 3. I was not satisfied with the quality of the 'finished' product and communicated this to James. Post-payment, James honored one of his promises to come back out to try to 'fix' any issues outstanding. At time of this writing, there is still one outstanding 'offer' from James to come back and finish smoothing out the surface, but I have not heard from him in weeks. This makes it difficult to trust that the company will stand by the 7-year labor warranty that is in the contract.
Dwight and his team work great to work with. We had several meetings before the project began to ensure that we had a proper plan in place for my fence. The overall project took 2 1/2 days. Dwight's customer service was great and he ensured I received what I was expecting. The original estimate for my fence, we were a little short on materials but Dwight's team ran to Lowes to grab more, fairly quick. During the project, I noticed a severe split in one of the wood pieces on the gate. When I went to tell Dwight the next day, he already had a replacement piece in progress, which was great to see. I would recommend better site clean up as I found several nails around the work area. Other than the nails, the work site was left in the same condition as when they arrived. Overall, it was great work and I would recommend Dwight's team for other projects.
ROOFERS AND LAWYERS AND PLUMBERS... OH, MY! These three professions have at least one thing in common; You don't know or care anything about them until you really need one! Our house sits in what is now about to be zoned commercially. Someday soon, it will be torn down to make room for a Burger Biggie or a MedCheck or a bank or something. We are just waiting it out until we can sell and move on with our retirement. But a roof is something you really need, and we needed one badly! We don't know any roofers, and none of our friends were particularly quick to recommend anyone. They either had never needed one, or they had a "less than great" experience. So we used "Thumbtack" for recommendations, and that's how we met Steve Kinney of Green Line Roofing. We met with all the recommended companies provided by Thumbtack, and received their estimates. What set Steve apart from the other company represenatives we met with was that Steve was representing STEVE. Not a large company, where the owner has a business degreee, but has never set foot on a roof. Steve took the time to understand our situation, and actually tailor a proposal to our needs. He isn't a "one size fits all" kind of guy... and to honest, everyone else we met with in getting estimates were locked in to their companies parameters and directives. I would say they were "salesmen", and Steve was a "consultant". He worked with us, provided options where possible for our needs, and made recommendations based on HIS experience as a roofer. He spent the time with us to answer our questions, not with "Well, our policy is...", but with sound, logical "Here's why..." answers. He understood what we wanted, and he found ways to get it for us. Our new roof is now on and looks great! We paid exactly what Steve estmated. I should say that he and his crew also did some repair work to our front porch, as well as tear off our old roof, replace some rotted decking and re-shingle the whole roof and porch. They started on time, worked steadily through the day, and by 4:00PM, they were packing up. They took great care to clean up all the old shingles, nails and scrap around the house when they were done. It was, in a word, impressive. I would, without reservation, recommend Steve Kinney and Green Line Roofing to anyone considering a new roof and looking for a professional who can and will meet your needs.
I had some very over grown flower beds, weed trees, fence line & weeds growing up through my deck. Josh cleared all of the weeds and brush, tore down an old shed, edged all of the concrete, mowed the grass, stained my back deck & front porch, put down weed prevention, mulched all of the flower beds & planted some shrubs and flowers. He did a marvelous job, in a timely fashion and stuck to his quote!! I am extremely please with the work he did and would recommend him to anyone!!!
I found Central Indiana Painting on Thumbtack purely by accident. We needed to "spruce" up our mother's home to sell as part of her estate. Living in Austin, TX and managing a job to be done in Kokomo, IN was expected to be a challenge but Terry Boehning made it very simple. First, he was very empathetic to our situation and was very patient. Initial conversations were by phone with many follow up conversations via email. My brother lives in town and helped to coordinate the activities, I worked with Terry on the contract from Texas, and my sister in Florida chose the colors. As we had several weeks to plan, Terry's team arrived on site the day he committed and finished same day. Job included two coats of paint on all interior walls and ceilings within a ~1,000 sq ft home along with painting trim on the exterior of the home. Also included was to power-wash the exterior of the home (aluminum siding) though once the team arrived on site, they recommended not to power-wash as this would likely discolor the finish due to the age and condition (home built in 1959). I concurred and Tony provided a credit to the quote for the power-washing. Feedback from my brother who observed the finished job was favorable. Only down-side he noted was that a couple windows were painted shut and took some effort to open after the paint dried. Would have been good if the windows were left open slightly once painted to avoid this. In summary, Terry was very easy to work with and the job was reasonably priced. His team showed up when expected and completed the job as expected. They were clean and professional. I would recommend Central Indiana Painting.
Jeff was great. I can't say enough good this about this hard working man. Jeff contacted me for repairing a wood floor in our family room/hearth room. The previous owners laid new hard wood down but only took the wood to the hideous built in bookcase/entertainment center. My solution was to rip out the cabinets and patch the floor. Like most home improvements, nothing goes the way it's supposed too. Jeff was great at solving the problem with the floor and stayed late to finish the project before he went home. He came back two days later to finish putting up the trim and modifying the fireplace mantle. I'm so very pleased with his workmanship that I'm going to ask him back for other areas in the home. He does a great job and so respectful to you, the home and your thoughts.
I had purchased two houses that needed major repairs and renovations from the roof to the ground. (Windows, doors, plumbing, replacing drywall, flooring, etc...) After receiving a variety of estimates from numerous companies, Myers Construction was the one! Not only was his price reasonable, his service was amazingly fast, friendly, and very trustworthy. Steves communication has been outstanding, He has been updating me with daily calls and pictures. I had been surprised with the final results it all looks like a brand new house. Both properties had a deadline and Steve was able to complete it on time. Highly recommended!!
I had a property that was in need of major porch repair. It had become a safety issue especially for the upstairs weight bearing down on the lower level. Unfortunately, damage under the porch showed much rot and not much foundation. Brad was quick to give a thorough estimate, opened up his schedule to do a complete overhaul and did an excellent job keeping my tenants safe during construction. The end result was a strong, beautiful new porch and he beat everyone else out on price. I am very pleased with his service.
