    Compugeekz restored my most essential laptop to working order and got my computers networked and sharing documents, so that if one of my computers crashes again I will be covered with back-up documents. What a relief! I recommend Compugeekz.

    I was having a lot of problems with my year old hp Pavilion notebook that was crashing repeatedly during a days usage. I had bought into an on-line company (iyogi) for remote access tech. help and anti-virus service. They had control over my laptop for about 4 months and I spent hours a day multiple times each month when I had to contact them about the same performance problem issues that began when they installed their program. By the time we terminated their service my hp was crashing multiple times a day. I am not a techie and I had no idea how to fix their mess. Somehow I found Compugeekz on Thumbtack and stated that i had a computer problem and very quickly had a reply from George Sievers offering his services, he sent me a number to call and by the end of our conversation I felt there actually was some hope for my laptop that I thought had a hardware issue and was probably going to cost a lot of money to repair. I took my machine to him and the next day he called and told me I could come pick it up. He had cleaned the 'bugs' out of it and he was 'stressing' it by running several programs at once and no crashing. I have had no more crashing, the fan used to sound like it was running hard all the time, no more of that. I can run multiple windows and browsers at one time, no problem. I am extremely pleased with the work he did, he even called and e-mailed me to make sure it was running properly and to see if I had any further questions or concerns. His pricing is very competitive and actually was lower than an amount I had paid a couple years back for PC work that wasn't even done right. I will be taking that PC to Compugeekz for him to work his magic on next. It is nice for a non techie in a high tech world to have someone close by, that is available for questions, cares enough about his work and reputation to do several follow ups and is fair and honest. In this world, that is a rare commodity.

I do my best but mainly, I want to be there when my best isn't enough as well. Thats why I guarantee my work. I am so happy to be able to fix something, but as we all know products that we use are built to break.     George replaced the hard drive and operating system on my computer. He explained everything from start to finish, from how long it would take, to what he would charge, as if we were working on this together. I will call George in the future if I ever need any more computer work done. He was very professional.

    Staples had my laptop for over a month and coule not fix it, while within a week George Sievers had it fixed and ready to use just like new. He replaces my hard drive with a larger one of my choice and reinstalled windows for me. :)

    I used Compugeekz to have a high-end gamer built. New, quality gamers are very expensive online, so I was looking for someone close by to build one at a lower price. George was amazing! He gave me a print out of what he suggested for a gamer with all the cheapest prices he could find - he also gave me alternate options depending on what my price range was. George kept in contact with me throughout the process to let me know when the parts came in, and it took almost no time for him to put it all together and drop it off at my house. It works great and I love that I was able to customize everything I wanted, from the hardware inside to the awesome case and monitor sitting on my desk. He also guaranteed his work, so any problems that may arise in the future with hardware or odd technical things, George said he would look at for free, which saves me a ton of time and money!

    I have purchased many, many computers for my business that my employees seem to crash. I would take the computers to the “name brand names” to have them fixed and wishfully restored back to working status. Very disappointing, time after time I ended up taking the computers to the garbage when no one could help me. When I first started using Computer Geeks, I was so relieved that I didn’t have to pitch another computer into the trash. Goodness I could have saved so much money! George had my system back in working condition for my business. George even explained to me why we were having the same issues over and over. This will definitely help my business by preventing me from having purchase new computers, not only by preventative measures, but also by having Computer Geeks on my speed dial.     I started having problems before my son's warranty was up with the Geek Squad. I took his lab top in several times, they kept it for several weeks and when I got it back, the same problem kept coming back. I took it to Compugeekz and it was fixed after one try.

    My computer just froze up, wouldn't do anything - i had no idea what happened. George drove to my home the same day I called, picked up my computer and had it back to me the following day, problem fixed. Didn't have to leave the house and he didn't cost a fortune! Great service, great price

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes, I am a student at Purdue. I am studying Computer Information Systems and Technology with a focus in Networking. I am also a hardware guy, I cant get enough of learning about technological advancements and achievements. I read a lot of internet news with technology and I am also a member of various nerdy communities like Anandtech, Tom's Hardware, Technibble, and many many more. I also use the work from this job to stay up on the latest. Every problem is a fingerprint, there are no problems that are the same.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your service? If so, please share the details here.
I can only price my service according to the job itself. I use a flowchart system of "go ahead" or "stop here". I don't charge for work that I haven't done. I am right by the side of the customer rooting for the best, I am nothing but a tool used to fix the problem. I aim at recommending the efficient route thinking long term, not a job done just enough to get you back next week.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
It is what i enjoy and find fascinating. Also, my father has always been involved with computers. I have always gotten the hand-me-downs when he would upgrade, so I took interest at a very early age.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Windows Operating System repair from 95 to Windows 10. Windows Server 2003-2012. Standard, enterprise and essentials.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I am not just a business, I am concerned about your every day living. I don't only fix your problem, I aim to guide you in preventing future problems by helping you understand. Your computer is not just a tool, it's access to the world today. It is an intimate experience that can have vulnerabilities, let's make this a safe and successful experience for today and tomorrow.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Everything I do involves passion and I am very passionate when it come to computer systems. It takes a lot of patience and dedication to get into this kind of work. They have always said that if you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life. I believe in this quote, I enjoy my work especially when I know how frustrating the problems can be to someone and their personal life. Let me deal with the hard parts, its what I do.
