I have worked multiple times with Cesar, for a range of things from furniture assembly to installation of hardware in bathrooms and door bell chimes and the like. It's been great working with Cesar, he is friendly and accommodating.
As a design professional (interior designer) I was greatly impressed with Affairs of the Heart. The process of art installation is commonly undervalued, but as a designer I know how important it is to the overall visual aesthetic of a room. Hanging something is about more than getting the height right. Jupi understands this thoroughly and therefore can work collaboratively with you or your design professional to achieve the best result. Her suggestions on the "grouping" we were doing over the living room couch helped bring it together and create a wonderful composition for my clients. I am Los Angeles based, but when I work in the DC area I will make Jupi and Affairs of the Heart my go to art installer.
This is my first time using Thumbtack and honestly, I am really satisfied with water heater installation from Walter. Our Water heater was leaking (19 years old) and needed immediate replacement since it was leaking. I was calling all over for the contractors for prices and they all ranged over $1000. Also, other contractors were willing to charge extra fees and unnecessary county code. Walter was professional and very kind. He explained in details about the water heaters and purchasing county code is not necessary. He also showed up at home depot 7 in the morning and picked all the necessary parts and water heater. All I needed to do was to make the purchase. Also, he delivered water heater to my home AT NO ADDITIONAL COST. He finished the work in a timely manner and cleaned up well. I am REALLY satisfied with his service. Walter is going to my plumber and I am going to introduce him to my friends and neighbours. His labour cost is very affordable and reasonable compare to other contractors. I was able to save hundreds of dollars in labour cost. Overall you will never regret hiring Hi solution and Walter is the guy. He is a licensed contractor.
Trent assembled a Lifetime play set for me. He was very responsive during the whole process and worked with me with on a tight installation time frame (due to vacation schedules, I needed it installed the same day it was delivered). He assembled the set in about 4.5 hours, and cleaned up the area before leaving. We've only had the set for a weekend, but so far it appears to be well built and sturdy.
This guy is amazing, even with the snags in delivery, missing parts & a last minute wall art dilemma ... He managed to bring it all together! Thank you Glenn, you really alleviated a lot of stress, I will definately be calling you for anything I need help with in the future😌
Just great! Punctual, cordial, best price, and great work. Used for kitchen faucet installation
I'm so glad we went with John for our project! We needed our powder room off the living room repainted in less than a week because we had guests coming that following weekend. John was super flexible and patient with us throughout the process of us also simultaneously getting new ceramic tiles installed. We ended up paying him extra for his patients and willingness to do more. He did our ceiling, walls, trim, and door. He also installed a new light fixture, door knob and hinges, and patched up some spots the tile guys messed up. He even took some of our old renovation crap to the dump! Overall a great guy. We will definitely use him again in the future when we need more painting done. Fast, reasonably priced, and does a nice job.
We needed to have a shower door installed. This was the last item in a larger home remodel project. We asked the team who did the remodel but their price was higher than we were willing to pay at this point. We got a couple of other quotes which were all over the place. I had used thumbtack only once previously but never hired anyone. I thought I'd give it a try. Randy gave us a good quote that we were satisfied with. He didn't have any reviews on thumbtack so we were hesitant, but he provided references and explained that he just joined thumbtack. I spoke to a pro poetry manager and she praised Randy's work saying that he does all the work on their many properties. We have it a shot. We exchanged a couple of emails and phone calls prior to the actual work day. We weren't sure which door to order but with his advice we finally got it and scheduled the installation. Randy's worker was very prompt and thorough. The shower stall have him some trouble since it was porcelain tile, but he managed to get the screws in. Unfortunately the instructions for the door were confusing and the final few steps weren't done properly. I wasn't home when the installation was finished but when I returned and noticed it didn't look right I called the door manufacturer and they explained what was wrong. I called Randy who was very accommodating and his worker came the next morning and fixed the issue. They were both curteous. In the end we got the door installed within our budget. Our work in the house is complete now, but if we need anything else done in the future I will certainly ask Randy again for a quote.
I called for a last minute project to hang a very heavy and fragile piece of art. Tim responded and arrived early and ready with all the essential equipment; he was extremely competent, professional, and very considerate of my home and artwork. I will seek out Tim in the future for any other home projects -- thanks Tim for helping me get closer to feeling at home here in DC!
I cannot say enough good things about RB Construction (Remberto and his crew) on their work during our kitchen relocation. Honest, fair, reasonable price, quick and resourceful. You cannot beat their prices. I tried to on drywall, cabinet installation, painting, carpentry finish and tile work and nobody came close To make a long story short, I had him out to bid on patching drywall after electrician ran wiring and ending up hiring Remberto to finish the entire kitchen. We live in a house built in the 1930s and moved our old galley kitchen to the family room. Remberto and crew did a beautiful job on the tile work to include all the difficult subflooring work. They also did an excellent job on drywall and smoothing out transition with old plaster. Finally, they did an amazing job on installation of kitchen cabinets despite the fact that none of the walls were square or the ceiling level, as well as the custom installation of a 300 lb. country sink. They are true craftsmen! I wish I would have found Remberto when I start my remodel job. He would have saved me time, money and headaches.
Thank you so much Keisha and Eric! You all met all my expectations! Soon as they arrived their professional manners just put me at ease. They knew exactly how I wanted my art work position and did it in good timing and no mess left behind! Will definitely use them again!
Months ago, I looked for someone to do a small painting project on Thumbtack. And I ended up with a brand new home. Christian, Jessica, Hector and the rest of the team at 5th Gen Group honestly do miracles. We own a 100+ year old row home in Washington DC and we've had problems ever since we moved in five years ago. After dealing with four different contractors that left me unsatisfied, I tried Thumbtack (at that time, new in the DC area). Christian came out to do an estimate and I was impressed by him from the get go - as a woman, I hate when contractors act like I'm stupid or uninformed. Christian never did that, and he answered all my questions respectfully and thoroughly and would defer to my wishes. We initially contracted for a gut remodel of our ancient kitchen and leaking bathroom. Christian's professional opinion was heavily appreciated as well as his vision - he instantly "got" the feel of a space and spent a lot of time listening to not only what we wanted, but how we would use the space and what we planned for the house in the future. Of course, the best laid plans always go awry - we knew our house had a few "handyman specials" but once Christian opened up the floor in the kitchen, we realized we were really in for it. Down there was a hidden mess of rotting wires, missing piping, garbage from the last renovations, and rotted-out beams. Overnight, our budget doubled. I personally wanted to die. But Christian calmly lead us through the process, helped us try to salvage our murdered budget, and focused on explaining the trade-off in home values. We ended up with an additional half bath downstairs (because really, what was another 5K at that point?), brand new kitchen (with a small bar!) a brand new stairwell and relocated laundry room, and a brand new bathroom with a shower (after 5 years of an ancient leaking cast iron tub). Christian isn't completely perfect - he's totally a perfectionist, and if you are one too, be prepared for some long conversations. There is an epic texting exchange over the bathroom tile that I may print out just to see how long it really was. But that's about the only thing. Also, for the other ladies on here- I always hate opening my home to someone because I have had bad experiences with contractors who were, at best, creepy. Christian and Hector were completely professional, and they really went the extra mile to make sure I always knew who would be in the house, when they would arrive, and how to reach both of them. Christian also has a lot of loyalty and integrity toward his clients - he is always fair, both in pricing and in the treatment of your home. He broke a small appliance - the only reason I knew was because he called me when he was purchasing an (upgraded) replacement on his own dime. All renovations are hard projects, long projects, and frequently frustrating. There was definitely a day when I wanted to kill Christian for sending me out to two different quarries in far out Virginia right around rush around. But when I stepped into my home for the first time, I couldn't stop smiling. And when we finally scrape together the budget for a third floor extension, I know exactly who I am calling.
Glenn came to our house expecting to hang eight large paintings, but prior to his arrival we decided to rearrange most of our art work. He ended up hanging or re-hanging 22 pieces without the least complaint of the revised work. Glenn arrived exactly on time, he was friendly, and he was a consummate professional. Not only did he hang the pieces, but he helped us place them for best effect and his eye was perfect. He hung all 22 pictures in an hour and 20 minutes and we couldn't be happier with the result, our home is transformed. We would most gladly recommend Glenn highly to anyone with wall hanging requirements. You won't be disappointed!
I turned to Nas Construction as a full service provider company. As a mother of 2 whom works a full time job, I find it very helpful to have someone take care of the process. Nas Construction took responsibility of everything, leading to the renovation of my kitchen and 2 bathrooms. They contacted the management company and ordered the materials. This allowed me to focus on other aspects of my life and not to worry about the construction. During the countertop installation, we had a bit of a glitch. The countertop cracked. I was panicking since I needed to cook and used my kitchen. Jhonathan totally took on the responsibility and apologized. I had a beautiful countertop installed in my kitchen in less than a week with the help of there materials dept. I was very pleased with the final results and the way I was treated. I recommend Nas Construction to those of us who need to renovate their kitchen or bath and cant afford to dedicate so much time to the process that leads to the construction and completion.
John installed quite a few paintings, photos, etc. in our office as well as two logos which were a bit difficult as they were made up of individual letters. John was an absolute pleasure to work with and our art looks 10 times better now that it has been hung by a professional. We would absolutely hire him again for future projects!
Mr. Lynch came to the home within 48 hours. Once he assessed that he needed better equipment, he came in on the very next Sunday to complete the job of hanging 2 large art pieces over two staircases. We will be calling upon Mr. Lynch for future projects. His pricing was comparable and fair.
Enthusiastic, on-time, and relatively inexpensive for the quality of service and resulting look. Lynn was great to work with from start to finish on several art installation and home rejuvenation projects: First, having just repainted the interior of our house, I was staring at blank walls, and I had some somewhat overwhelming decisions to make about what pieces of art (about two dozen to choose among) would go back where they used to be, and what changes I might make to refresh the space and bring a bit more color and brightness to our home. Lynn was up for the job from the get go, and she spent the needed hours with me over just one afternoon not only choosing what pieces would go where, but actually getting the pieces hung on the walls, which she also thankfully took care of as part of the job. A bit of furniture- and artifacts-restaging was part of the artistic sensibility she brought to what was really a team effort, something that was important to me, although she was clearly the lead, which I needed! I also decided to have two pieces of art, including an original Miro, reframed, and Lynn literally, and figuratively, nailed it when it came to choosing frames that would work not only with the pieces, but also with the space, and even allow the two vastly different pieces to complement one another. Lastly, I threw into the mix a somewhat-complicated three-piece wall hanging that she also installed for me, even though I popped this project on her as a surprise during her last visit! In short, the time and effort Lynn devoted to my home renewal project to date has been worth every penny. I love the newly-framed and arranged art, as well as the re-ordering she brought to the re-staging of my home and highly recommend her services.
Sorry, I'm writing this a little late. Lee is awesome, did a great job installing my garbage disposal. Very reasonable price, I did have to go out and purchase another garbage disposal because the one I had at first was missing the main pieces but other than that Lee was awesome. I'm going to hire him back to put up my portable fire place. Thanks Lee!
Hired Sam's team for an interior house painting project. Due to the curve of our stairs, we were unable to paint the stairwell, landing and second floor ceiling ourselves. Sam scheduled the painting quickly so it could be completed before Thanksgiving. His team was prompt and very thorough. The new paint looks wonderful, and I would certainly reach out to them again for any future projects.
GRC earned this rating! I am more than pleased for the following reasons: 1. Free site visit and estimate; 2. Compared to other offerors very competitive price (price was fair and reasonable. It was a firm fixed price contract, inclusive of materials, supplies, labor. Parts for additional services were purchased by GRC and I paid for them at costs. GRC provided all supporting docs., e.g. receipts, invoices.); 3. Technically knowledgeable, professional, hard working, clean (All four levels of my home were newly gutted and renovated. GRC installed the cables inside the walls with no damage to the walls. I am amazed that the wall cuts aren't visible. Areas were vacuumed concurrent to the cuts being made so there was no construction dust and debri all over the place. Exterior cable was run in such a manner that it barely shows.); 4. met performance schedule (The job began and ended on schedule.); and 5. Mr. Cassagnol, Owner/Project Manager was very easy to work with. The installation of Internet and cable service was a breeze for the cable guy. Everthing works to meet my current needs and my house is cabled to meet anticipated future needs. I am more than pleased. Will use him in the future. I've already started recommending company to friends and family. Retired Contract Specialist and Contracting Officer
Ernest did an outstanding job installing my outdoor light fixture. He arrived on time and answered all of my questions. I will definitely use Ernest's service again.
