I've been doing yoga on and off for the last 15 years and Kate is one of my favorite instructors in DC. I've been taking classes with her since she started her instruction at CorePower. She has a great energy, which makes even the most challenging of classes fun. The way a class or flow sequence is queued is important to me and Kate's instruction is easy to follow. I've been in classes that have a mix of skill levels and she makes an effort to be sure that everyone gets the most from their respective practice. I also like that she's really committed to her own practice and advancement as a yogi and an instructor. Great, great yoga instructor!
Fit & Flow provides Thai massage also known as Lazy Man's Yoga and private yoga sessions. The yoga sessions are Christ focused, with a foundational scripture for each session. Thai massage which is performed on the floor on a mat with the client fully clothed is great for those recovering from an injury and looking to improve their range of motion or simply as a complement to your exercise regime. This massage is very inactive yet relaxing.
I teach classical Ashtanga combined with Vinyasa, including pranayama (breathing techniques), meditation, and a 1.5-2 hour flow course. Yogic traditions such as Drishti and Bandha will be introduced as well as guided meditation. Classes can be adjusted for time constraints, and other series (yin yoga, Bikram sequence) can be taught as well. Physical adjustments are made both vocally and manually if given permission, as well as an interpretation/introduction to the doshas if the client is interested.
I am a certified yoga instructor. I will travel to any location of your choice. I am skilled in vinyasa flow, hatha yoga, restorative, and yin yoga. I can also provide supplies, if needed.

Having NEVER done Yoga before, I wanted to start with private lessons prior to attending a class at a studio. Elizabeth was great as she introduced me to the basics of yoga and each session reviewed the previous session to ensure I was doing it correctly. She would send me "homework " which were photos and step-by-step directions to achieve the various poses and flow. I am ready to start a class after only a few sessions. I had flexibility issues especially in my right side and she would always work with me to strengthen that area - not avoid it. I would recommend Elizabeth and will most likely do another series to compliment the studio classes.
ProYOGA is awesome and Amy is a great teacher. She is extremely knowledgeable and has a great rapport with the class. The classes flow nicely and she always keeps an eye out for those newbies who may need a little extra help and she always has great music. Jessica is one of the most engaging and motivating yoga instructors you will meet. As a yoga and reiki teacher, she continuously expands her knowledge, hones her techniques, and refines her ability for the benefits of her students. I have worked with Amy for the better part of the year and every experience has been wonderful. I participated in her Fall 10-day detox and have never felt better. The detox was closely monitored through a group of community support, and she was always able to quickly answer questions or make modifications. I learned that I have a gluten sensitivity and made major diet changes that have led to feeling better. I also have gone to her fusion flow and been through 2 rounds of her Barefoot Bootcamp which provide the cardio I need to burn calories, with the great community I need to stay motivated. Unlike other private yoga instructors, I specialize in working with people who would like to use yoga to improve other physical aspects of their life. If you are a dancer, we will work on re-aligning the hips and pelvis posture. If you are a golfer or tennis player, we will work on flexibility through the shoulders down into the twisting of the spine and proper hip alignment and hip flexor's flexibility. If you are a swimmer, we will work on strength and flexibility through the arms, shoulders, upper back, and hamstrings. Megan has been a student of yoga since 2008. Since then, a steady, grounded and ever-evolving yoga practice has brought stability and calm to her otherwise hectic days. Megan taught her first yoga classes while working overseas in Kuwait, Iraq and Afghanistan. After returning to Washington, DC, she completed teacher training and registered as an RYT-200 with Yoga Alliance. For students, Megan incorporates precise asana, gentle pranayama and simple meditation into a well-rounded practice. Her approach to yoga is influenced by her teachers, long and diverse traditions of vinyasa and Iyengar yoga, and her personal experience. Students can expect each class to be both challenging and accessible.

I went to one of Lauren's very first classes. She did a really great job leading the group, being a calm, guiding presence. She showed some nerves and had some small hiccups in the flow, but has improved with each class. This style of yoga is difficult for me, not so much physically, but mentally. It's much slower, more meditative, more deliberate than the "typical" vinyasa or flow class that have become so popular in our present society. It feels awkward and a bit uncomfortable to be so mindful and to be asked to be so present, but I think that challenge suggests it's probably something I should really do a lot more of. :)
Anjana has a one of a kind flow when it comes to yoga. She dances through the poses in such an elegant way, including breathing techniques that surrender you to the movement. Every class of hers is unique and different, clearly planned to change your perspective and to keep you on your toes as to what comes next. I never imagined yoga to be so artistic. I hope she never stops teaching!
Peter Sage is the best yoga teacher I ever had. He is very coherent in your life and teachings, and this makes all the difference. He is also a poet when teaching yoga postures, making us seeing the most profound spiritual meanings of each pose. The last time I did a yoga class with him, in Maryland, I had a great spiritual insight, and this was due to the flow that we felt through this conduction. I feel very lucky to have the opportunity to learn with Peter Sage. Just to be along his side makes us feel the joy of being alive. He remembers us how wonderful is to be present and enjoying nature, movements and meditation. Wonderful and generous teacher!
Gail's class is great! I love her flow and she is very inspiring. She takes time to check proper alignment while teaching and her class is a full workout for your body and mind.
