I've been practicing yoga since 2001 (teaching since 2011) and I've had the great fortune to study with a number of amazing teachers. Marni is one of them, I've been practicing with her for ~2 years now. Marni is a seasoned and wise teacher who inspires her students with a vast amount of knowledge, experience, and positive outlook related to yoga and overall holistic wellness.
From a physical/fitness/health standpoint, Marni is the best teacher I have ever studied with when it comes to structuring a class around postures that engage, strengthen, and lengthen muscles. It amazes me the way Marni finds and queues ways for her students to find their own alignment and strength in each pose. She knows alignment principles very well and brings in a component of creativity to every class. I find new ways to build strength and flexibility in each class I attend with her.
In addition, Marni brings in many additional layers to her classes including amazing stories (some of the best stories I have heard during a yoga class!), a vast knowledge of yoga/eastern philosophy, a focus on connecting and opening the heart space, poetry, and even live music to her classes - she generally ends classes playing the harmonium and singing to her students in savasana (resting pose).
In closing, Marni is an amazing yoga teacher with depth, clarity, knowledge and an infectious smile. I hope more and more people have a chance to study with her. As a yoga teacher myself, I look up to her and learn so much from each and every class I attend. I hope and plan that one day soon my schedule will allow me to take a teacher training session with her.
