We've helped many customers install cabinets in the past year.

Planning ahead

Things to know before you get started.
6 Steps to Installing Pre-made Cabinets
  1. 1. Make fast progress

Pre-made cabinets or modular cabinets, provide a quick way to remodel a kitchen, bathroom or laundry room compared to custom-built cabinets.

  2. 2. Have your pro measure carefully

The easiest way to do this is to have a contractor or pro from the cabinet store take the measurements after discussing the desired appearance.

  3. 3. Ensure a good fit

A professional cabinet installer can plane off the excess from the new cabinets in an unseen area so they fit perfectly against the walls.

  4. 4. Ask for secure mounts

In addition to fitting the area where they are being placed, cabinets need to be securely mounted. Loose-fitting cabinets can wobble and end up coming apart long before they should.

  5. 5. Feel free to refinish

Decide on the finish you want, such as painted or a natural grain wood finish. Some pre-made cabinets come pre-finished, while others leave that detail for the end consumer to handle.

  6. 6. Be vocal

It is important to discuss what you want with your cabinet installation service so they can give you an accurate, written estimate that details exactly what materials and services they are providing.
