Needed a handyman to repair several items before I sold my condo, including multiple cracks in drywall and a broken faucet handle. Walter and his team not only repaired everything perfectly, but the price was more than reasonable when compared to other offers I received. Not only that, but I live out of state, and Walter was in constant communication and provided detailed before and after pictures. Very happy with the level of work and service provided.
Cesar did a great job -- prompt, courteous, efficient, and professional. The project of mounting our flat-screen TV on the wall turned out to be a little more complicated than he had anticipated when the wall was wood paneling and not drywall, but he had the right tools with him. My HDMI connector cables also proved to be too short for the new set-up, but Cesar had longer ones with him, for a modest additional charge. Highly recommended!
I have never given a review about any service till date. These guys made me to do it today! I have to admit that the people who work here are very very prompt and professional. Very easy to communicate and very understanding. They understand our views and suggest what should be done. And they are genuine in what they say and do! I have got quotes from other contractors before, but none was so detailed and clear. I asked my husband about the quote as he had decent knowledge about drywall. He said me that the quote is good to go and we will go with EBRR Property Maintenance Services. The process they follow is fast.. Ed replied to me as soon as possible and immediately scheduled a consultation. He sent Luis the estimator, who arrived timely and gave me very useful advice. Within two days they sent me an estimate, which detailed the scope of work along with other associated costs. I could tell this is a very reputable and organized company. Their prices are competitive and best. I thought it would cost me lot but I saved some bucks just because of EBRR Property! They will be on top my list to do any work for my property. They are detail oriented and worth every penny you pay for. I highly recommend these guys for drywall works.
Carlos was very professional and he was also true to his word. Thank appreciated his flexibility and willingness to tackle my drywall project and exercise care throughout the repair of two ceiling holes created when I had an old light fixture replaced by an electrician.
NBF Painting does wonderful work! In the last year we've turned to NBF to paint a variety of different rooms in our home including the kitchen, dining room, living room, bathroom, and mudroom. Each time Nico paid great attention to detail, sanding rough spots, and making the rooms look perfect. I couldn't be more pleased! We've also turned to NBF Painting for small home carpentry projects including replacing a wood panel on our front door and damaged drywall. This past spring Nico helped us power wash and stain our deck. I highly recommend NBF Painting! Nico is a conscientious worker and does a beautiful job.
I hired Nilto to "finish" a room in my basement which we were turning into a gym. He framed half of a wall, hung drywall on two of the walls and the ceiling, installed an outlet, built a small custom railing, painted the drywall, and installed rubber flooring. Nilto took time to discuss the project and make recommendations based on his expertise. He even came back to our house to discuss the project with my wife and ensure she was comfortable with the plan. The project took a few days longer than expected (mostly due to uncontrollable things like drying plaster...etc) but was still finished in a reasonable timeframe. I had to point out a number of things that needed to be fixed (small things like some screws were sticking out, a few anchors in our concrete walls needed to be removed, the baseboards were a bit crooked), but Nilto took care of them quickly and send pictures to me throughout the project to be sure I was happy prior to returning home from work for the day. Overall, the price was excellent and at that price, I am very happy with the work Nilto did.
We had few projects for our new home that needed to be taken care of. Painting, tiling and drywall repairs. My friend recommended SR Home Improvements. She used them to repair drywall and paint and he received great service from them. I was very impressed with the initial interview with Sam, the owner. He was very knowledgeable, patient and answered all my questions about the work my home would need. He sent me a very detailed proposal right away while he was on site and answered all my questions. He was also very responsive to changes I made as the projects went along. Once the project was done, he came over to the house to make sure I was happy with the project. I am extremely happy with their service. I highly recommend them.
Tim and his crew did a great job on our basement finishing! Tim was very knowledgeable throughout the process and was very accommodating to with our busy schedules. He and his crew were very trustworthy as most of the time they worked in the house while we were away. Special thanks to Neil and the other gentleman on the team. They were always very friendly and responsive when I needed anything or had a question. My only negative, hence 4 stars, would be that I would have liked to only have had Tim as the sole POC versus us having to deal one on one with the other contractors on the project as it made for a lot of calls and additional tasks to manage. This was our first project so we were not really sure how everything worked. All in all, they did a great job and made our space beautiful! We would definitely use again for any project!
I hired Noel to fix a handful of drywall problems in a small bathroom I was remodeling and to paint the room. I was extremely happy with his work. He came to look at the job to confirm the quote, started right away and finished on time. He cleaned up thoroughly and left a beautifully done bathroom. I will hire him again for our painting needs. Highly recommended.
Jennri and his team (and he really has a team, each who specialize) did an amazing job for us, completing a total house renovation that was abandoned half way through. They were thorough, made good suggestions, worked quickly, and offered very fair prices. They did electrical work, tiling, drywall, painting, and installation of appliances and cabinets. They did really great work - I've already recommended him several times! We also hired his cleaning services to clean our (really really gross) old house before we sold it and they left it totally spotless (including the oven!!) for a great price. We will definitely continue to hire him for anything that comes up!
Juan was very quick to respond, and he went above and beyond with little touches: instead of just patching a drywall hole, he spackled, sanded, and painted the small wall. He added stain to the false floor until my sink so it was a closer match to the cabinets. He worked longer trying to repair a bathroom faucet and didn't give up when a rubber gasket failed in a part previously (through no fault of his) and created more work. He finished ahead of schedule.
I hired Herbert and his assistant to help me convert my van into a camper. The first project involved putting in a wood floor (over insulation) and building a bed frame. I could not be any more delighted with the result! Herbert was extremely flexible in scheduling around my weekends. After weather washed us out X2, he gave up a Sunday to help me with my van. Herbert kept in contact with me via text and email as we sorted out the final details. He picked up the needed supplies, arrived promptly, and did a fantastic job with the floor and bed. This was not an easy task as a van floor/walls have many challenges to work with. The completed project is even better than I hoped for! Working with Herbert was a delight. He is professional, friendly, flexible and very kind. I look forward to hiring Herbert for several other van projects and projects for my condo.
Great craftsmanship, professional, and easy to communicate with. Worked with my schedule to complete the project according to my timeline. My bed was put together perfectly, and headboard mounted into masonry. I find a common theme amongst contractors in that they don't clean up after themselves, leaving saw dust and waste materials for the home owner to clean. While I did have to do some fine tuning in the cleaning department, Trenton did at least attempt to clean up the area by picking up and disposing of the larger waste pieces. I would definitely hire him again.
Ed and his team are the most professional and honest people that I have worked with in DC. They communicate well, complete stellar work, and are always on time. They have helped me with anything from recurring snow removal and lawn care to repairing drywall from a plumbing issue I had. As an owner/manager of a multi-family property, there are countless things that I know I will continue to rely on this team to complete! I was so impressed with the team he sent to complete the drywall job; they were courteous, clean and kept me well informed about the job progress. Snow removal and salting was a huge concern of mine this winter. Ed was constantly checking the weather and then confirming with me about services provided the night before. Stellar service!
Randy and his team did a wide variety of jobs for me - interior painting, carpet installation, drywall repair, updating bathrooms. Randy was very responsive and professional and his team does very good work.
I hired RB to repair drywall which included knicks in @ four places plus three holes from door knobs hitting into the drywall; repair wooden gate which included re-nailing to slates (+ RB further fortified gate a little extra at no charge); drywall repair over stove from water/ heat damage; installed 3 door stops; screwed on two vents (no charge) and repaired part of the fascia/ soffit on roof which was disconnecting from roof. He arrived when he said, did more than I asked him to do, finished early, repaired the drywall very well/ no visible signs, and quoted a reasonable price on the jobs I hired him to do. I would hire him again.
Had a wall that wasn't flat and a giant picture that was that needed to be hung on the not-flat wall, so we needed help. Robert came by on the same day I sent a request, hung the picture in about 15 minutes and refused to take any more money than his (very low) estimate (second estimate from a different contractor was 3X his price).
Hugo and his helper wall mounted our new 55 inch tv. They installed a sound bar as well as an infrared sensor, which allows for hiding the cable box. They drilled holes into a cabinet we had purchased to hide the wires and equipment. A stereo receiver was also hooked up with 2 speakers installed in our kitchen ceiling and a volume control knob installed. All these improvements required cutting into drywall and patching, which were neatly done. Hugo also did the research for me about what equipment I needed to purchase, which was all online (no visits to Best Buy or other store of that ilk). The best thing, I have to say, is that Hugo came on short notice, in fact it was the day after Thanksgiving. The two men spent about 6-7 hours at my house and literally transformed it from 20th century technology to the 21st, all for $500. I think we got a great deal, and I hope to use Hugo for future projects. Finally, Hugo is very nice, pleasant, as well as extremely hard working and responsible. Thank you, Hugo!
Leonardo is honest and reasonable in his pricing - he is conscientious and diligent in his efforts to do a good job and always makes sure you are satisfied - if there is an issue, it's typically minor and he always takes the time to correct it to your satisfaction. His work ethic is strong and he works tirelessly, often well beyond normal working hours, to finish a job on time. There is, on rare occasion, a minor language barrier but if you take your time it is always manageable. Leonardo cleans up after himself and puts his tools away before leaving for the day - he is not always on time but he is very good about letting you know he is running late, usually via text. I would definitely rate him as a 5 star contractor. He did all the tile work, some drywall and all the framing in our basement project to date and plans to help us with the last few things as we complete the project.
John recently came to my house to inspect a tiling job and give me an estimate. He helped verify that I indeed had a plumbing issue instead of tile issue, and gave me a reference for a plumbing service. He was prompt, responsive and all around pleasant to interact with. I’ll be hiring John to help with my drywall needs after the plumber resolves my water leak.
Months ago, I looked for someone to do a small painting project on Thumbtack. And I ended up with a brand new home. Christian, Jessica, Hector and the rest of the team at 5th Gen Group honestly do miracles. We own a 100+ year old row home in Washington DC and we've had problems ever since we moved in five years ago. After dealing with four different contractors that left me unsatisfied, I tried Thumbtack (at that time, new in the DC area). Christian came out to do an estimate and I was impressed by him from the get go - as a woman, I hate when contractors act like I'm stupid or uninformed. Christian never did that, and he answered all my questions respectfully and thoroughly and would defer to my wishes. We initially contracted for a gut remodel of our ancient kitchen and leaking bathroom. Christian's professional opinion was heavily appreciated as well as his vision - he instantly "got" the feel of a space and spent a lot of time listening to not only what we wanted, but how we would use the space and what we planned for the house in the future. Of course, the best laid plans always go awry - we knew our house had a few "handyman specials" but once Christian opened up the floor in the kitchen, we realized we were really in for it. Down there was a hidden mess of rotting wires, missing piping, garbage from the last renovations, and rotted-out beams. Overnight, our budget doubled. I personally wanted to die. But Christian calmly lead us through the process, helped us try to salvage our murdered budget, and focused on explaining the trade-off in home values. We ended up with an additional half bath downstairs (because really, what was another 5K at that point?), brand new kitchen (with a small bar!) a brand new stairwell and relocated laundry room, and a brand new bathroom with a shower (after 5 years of an ancient leaking cast iron tub). Christian isn't completely perfect - he's totally a perfectionist, and if you are one too, be prepared for some long conversations. There is an epic texting exchange over the bathroom tile that I may print out just to see how long it really was. But that's about the only thing. Also, for the other ladies on here- I always hate opening my home to someone because I have had bad experiences with contractors who were, at best, creepy. Christian and Hector were completely professional, and they really went the extra mile to make sure I always knew who would be in the house, when they would arrive, and how to reach both of them. Christian also has a lot of loyalty and integrity toward his clients - he is always fair, both in pricing and in the treatment of your home. He broke a small appliance - the only reason I knew was because he called me when he was purchasing an (upgraded) replacement on his own dime. All renovations are hard projects, long projects, and frequently frustrating. There was definitely a day when I wanted to kill Christian for sending me out to two different quarries in far out Virginia right around rush around. But when I stepped into my home for the first time, I couldn't stop smiling. And when we finally scrape together the budget for a third floor extension, I know exactly who I am calling.
