My experience with Elmo Laing was a powerful trigger of personal memory---from light, to set-up, to processing. By all accounts, he is a meticulous craftsman. Through his eyes and indelible images of my party guests, I am still reliving this momentous occasion ---my 60th birthday celebration. In photograph after photograph, Elmo captured every mood and motion of the affair. He documented the dancing, the band, the striking group portraits, the cake, the room decorum, and of course--ME. His photography has played an important role of constructing memory because the stories leap from their stills. His images are stimulants for remembering---happy lives, families and friends, and what & how we celebrate. I hover over these images! That’s what fantastic photographers do….they show the environment, they show what they saw and they work to compose the best for YOU. That is exactly what Elmo Laing produced for me. Oh, wait a minute, did I mentioned that he is patient, polite, and precise with posing & positioning—a good photographer. Thank you, Elmo for your artistry, storytelling and technical ability. Wow I cannot begin to express my gratitude for the service that I received from Anthony Herbert. My husband (fiancé at the time) and I hired Anthony to be our photographer for one of the most special occasions of our life, "Our Wedding". Your wedding is a day where you want everything to be absolutely perfect, especially your photos. We had previously seen some of Anthony's work and I told my husband I want him to be our photographer. His pictures were so impressive, from the color, to the clarity of the images, the sharpness, the poses and those special moments that he captured were just breath taking. Anthony Herbert conducted himself with such professionalism, he was kind and respectful and made our day, one we will never forget. He was with us our entire wedding capturing ever special moment of our day, and the pictures speaks volumes about his work. My husband and I were literally speechless when we saw our photos, and It takes a lot to impress my husband, we could not put our photos down for hours, they were simply amazing, simply beautiful. Every person we showed our photos too and I mean we showed a lot of people, the 1st thing they asked who was your photographer. I have had many people say our photos should be in art galleries, or in magazines. Your not only going to find that Anthony takes great pride in his work, but your going to find a respectful, professional, reasonable photographer that's makes his clients feel just like family. I would truly recommend Anthony Herbert of Primtyme Photography to any and everybody who would like to have a photo album that told the story of your special day without having to put a caption under each picture, the pictures themselves tell the fantastic story...! He is remarkable..!
We could not have been happier with our decision in choosing Doug Sanford as the photographer for our family photos. He was the first photographer to respond to our needs and price range. He accommodated us with a Sunday shoot, was prompt, professional and worked very well with our family of 11 (which included a 2,4 and 6 year olds). Everyone remained comfortable and relaxed during the entire shoot which included many different locations and extreme heat on outside shots. He did not rush and took every shot we wanted and more. I have just seen the entire portfolio of shots and are ecstatic to say the least. Look forward to working with Doug again on future family photos.
He came to my house to do some portrait-type photography. I appreciated that Joe was relaxed and friendly and didn't seem rushed. I got the photos back from him very quickly. He was helpful in suggesting good backgrounds as well. I was very pleased with the end result. I think he'd make a great family photographer also.
After a couple years of making volunteer appearances as Santa Claus, I decided to "go professional". A friend recommended Chris Paulis Photography for taking portraits to publish on my new web site. Chris went above and beyond my expectations, before, during, and after our scheduled photo shoot. Once the portraits were published on my web site, talent agents were highly impressed with the iconic images that Chris was able to capture and the resulting opportunities for me to portray Santa Claus were amazing. Most of my clients attributed their interest in my services to the heartwarming portraits taken by Chris Paulis.
William is a true professional in every sense of the word. His expertise in achieving the goals I had for new professional portraits was top notch. He intuitively understood what I was going for before I even said the first word about it. He was flexible with storage options for the photos as well. Being in the spotlight as a magician makes it necessary that I have updated photos for publicity purposes, but I hate mostly every photo of myself but with his extensive knowledge of incredible lighting effects, William was able to create no less than 20 incredible images for me to pick from. I will definitely be making Tamarack Images my go to photographer for all my professional photos from now on and highly recommend that everyone else do the same.
Oh my God... Where do I begin? Priscilla is hands down the best photographer my husband and I have met. Pri brings so much energy and passion to what she does, that it's contagious. Her customer service from the moment you reach out to when she delivers your images is spot on. She is open to ideas, creativity, and let's you take control of your shoot, if that is what you are into. Dealing with Priscilla is not like dealing with someone you hired to take your pictures, but a friend that just so happens to be taking your pictures. I do not regret a single thing about choosing Pri as our engagement photographer. We are amazed by the results!! We definitely will be recommending her to all our friends and family, and will be using her as our family photographer for years to come. Thanks Pri!
Nik proposed in 3/17 & we didn't want to wait so once we locked in the venue, we began looking for a photographer. Our wedding was considered it an elopement as it was a simple service with 11 in attendance, myself & my groom included, and it was to be roughly 3 hours of shoot time. We wanted to have a natural feel to the photos & be rich in color with no details missed. During the search, I wanted to see portfolios of weddings where the photographer had shot in dimly lit venues. Although we didn't do a traditional reception, we did have all of our guests join us for a dinner where we did a toast & cut cake. We wanted to see work that demonstrated the photographer's ability to photograph without the use of bright lights that create shadows or completely black out the room to get one (or a few) subject(s). Joshua was very accommodating when it came down to deciding between three local artists & I'd asked to view a full wedding since in reality, the online portfolios only showcase their best work. He was incredibly patient with us as we took a few weeks to really nit-pick the photographer's work & make a decision. Everything that we'd asked for he provided. Fast forward to June 10, 2017 - the wedding. Upon arrival, he helped us all get into place & even communicate between the groom & I. He was incredibly patient. Honestly, I barely noticed him once everything got rolling. He got all the shots we wanted & then some! The photos of my husband's expression when I made my way towards him will be cherished forever. Anything in particular we wanted, he did. In the end, he ran a few photos by us to see if they were to our satisfaction. We made a few suggestions regarding saturation & a small blemish that needed editing & when the gallery went up, I couldn't stop looking for days. We happily recommend Joshua Fernandez Photography. The photos selected are two of our favorites from the day <3
We hired K to take pictures on our wedding just for one hour, because we only wanted to register the ceremony and a few pictures of our guests. It was a small wedding party. Before the wedding, K made very good suggestions on the photo selection, and provided us with several documents that guided the organization of our wedding photo gallery. K is very knowledgeable of his profession and provided us with good advice. Before the wedding, he was very responsive to our needs and very flexible in meeting our tight schedule. After the wedding he organized a viewing session in our home and suggested a set of pictures that were the most representative of that important day. The quality of his work is very good.
Tina does amazing work! She has conducted major photo shoots with famous models and major movies. Her modeling-photo experience really shines through as Tina has master control of all components of her studio -- all components geared to one goal: making you look the best, fabulous! Tina is a very friendly and welcoming person. She motivates you to bring out your best portrait look. She is the best photographer to have ever taken my portrait in my life. I highly recommend her.
Winstead is an outstanding photographer! This was my very first photo shoot and he prepared me for it exceptionally! He recommended the type of attire I should bring, he recommended how to pose, which stances to make and when! In the end, the pictures looked prolific! Crazy part is, you get so much outstanding service and his price is the most competitive out of all the other thumbtack photographers recommended to me! Save yourself the hassle and stress--hire Winstead and you'll be glad you took this recommendation! Be blessed!
I've known Brian for many years and one of the first things I learned about him was his love for photography. He is very talented with his camera and produces very high quality photographs. He knows what backgrounds and lightings are optimal and is very good with photo-editing software as well. He has taken pictures for me on multiple occasions, most notably while we were studying abroad and for my college graduation. These prints turned out beautifully and remain great memories.
We hired Lizzy to help us take pictures for my father's 90th birthday. We did a lot of family portraits and singles. We also used Lizzy to take pictures of the event. Lizzy was sweet and very professional. She suggested many ideas during the picture taking process. She was very patient with my father who moved slowly. Thanks Lizzy you were great.
On July 17th I found Thumbtack and placed a request searching for a Videographer for my daughter's wedding to be held on July 28th. I had 5 or 6 respond to this request with availability. Mark was the first to respond. His response was very detailed as to what he provided, he included his website link and a quicklink to one of the highlight video's he had produced for another wedding. We scheduled a time with Mark to speak over the phone and were very happy with all his responses to our many (and I mean many) questions. This was our first time hiring a videographer and my daughter had waited till the very last minute to make the decision she wanted to do the video as well as a photographer. Not only were his prices very competitive (well he was the lowest offer of the 6) but his responsiveness to us was amazing. When our day arrived Mark was early to arrive to the venue, he asked for a quick tour which I provided and he met with Tabitha (my daughter) and I to go over his plans and preparations he was making - weather was coming and he wanted to be sure to capture the outside venue shots early so not to miss those (which was perfect because there was a constant downpour from 3 pm until well after the wedding was over). I had guests ask me numerous times throughout the day and into the night where we found the videographer. That he seemed to be everywhere all the time. My daughter even made the comment that he was perfect, and was thinking about pictures/video she hadn't even seen in all her various reviews of highlights (she was by that time addicted to looking at highlights). As the night drew to an end Mark quietly faded away and left during the packup of the wedding party. He was the best. We just received the video highlight to share with friends and family, and I will tell you not only is it completely perfect but Mark managed to capture the essence of the 12 hours he was with us amazingly. He captured moments I didn't see first hand for various reasons (distracted by grandsons running around or guests wishing us well). The highlight video though short in time is major in impact. I cried once again through the whole thing, and have the several times I've watched it. If this is that good the full length can be nothing short of amazing. I would (and will since my son is still to be married in the future) hire Life Reflecting Images (Mark) over and over for any special occasion that warrants a video touch. He is unobtrusive in his manner (never in the way or overbearing - he never gave direction but rather worked with our family as they came :) ), he is professional in every way (walking around that pesky other Mother of the bride who had her own camera and video phone app rather than doing what I would do which is push her away), and most of all he captured the most important moments of my daughters (she's really my step daughter I am just the step-mom who would have blown the clouds away to make my daughters day perfect and would have paid whatever it took to make this happen as well) in a manner that I don't think anyone else could have. You will never regret hiring Mark from Life Reflecting Images, he is just simply the nicest and best we could have found. Thank you Mark and till our next event continued success in everything you do. Susan White -
Robert was a great wedding photographer for us. I phone interviewed him, had an in-person interview, and heard from 2 of his references about 10 months before our wedding. In the lead-up, he actually reached out to ME, reminding ME that I wanted to touch base with my list of photos, preferences, wedding day details, etc., so that tells me he was on the ball. Once I had the photo list, preferences, etc. documented, he set up a phone call about a week or 2 before the wedding, and we stepped through the timeline, and he advised me how to order the shots, how to make sure family photos go as smoothly as possible, etc. We added one hour to the contract, and the contract change was a breeze. On the wedding day, he was on time and ready to go for our first look. I was an antzy bride, so he dealt with the, "What time is it?" question a lot and didn't seem to mind. (Actually, I was honest about not being crazy about posed pictures to begin with, and he didn't seem offended.) He breezed us through family portraits before the ceremony and then the big family portraits during cocktail hour. I actually had 30 minutes of my cocktail hour thanks to him. I know he was *there,* but I totally didn't notice him during the ceremony or reception. He gave us a heads up when his time was up and thanked us for our business. Per our contract, he delivered preview pictures the next business day--only he provided 14--4 more than contractually obligated. And again, within contract deadlines, he delivered the entire set of photos 5 weeks and 1 day after the wedding. Then we received the CD with the images about 67 weeks after the wedding. Out of the 800ish photos he took, I find about 175 to be good candidates for an album. He got great photos and followed my preferences. Very happy with Robert and the photos.
I was first interested in Erik's cityscapes, but was blown away by his work in portrait photography. Its hard to find photographers who are able to capture both genres so intensely with such rich quality. Erik also has the ability to capture what his clients want without losing his artistic twist on his work. I would definitely recommend him professionally as well as personally.
The best experience I have had with a photographer. $60 fee. The next closest I saw was $150, with other prices well upward. He is a real pro. The studio is in his home, but he has backgrounds, a great camera, and an easy manner. He took a dozen or more shots, we looked at them on the computer, figured out what was right, what was wrong and what I wanted. He then took another series of shots, and I found the one I wanted. He did some light editing on PhotoShop, got it in two formats (Low for Internet and High res for printing). What a delightful, charming and professional man. I recommend him very highly.
I recently worked with Nandor and was extremely impressed and pleased with his quality of work. I advised him of the type of photos that I wanted, and he did an excellent job with his suggestions, direction and vision. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to have professional portraits taken of them and would also definitely work with him in the future!
The good: Very punctual, friendly and good with kids The ouch: The part I hoped for (realized its absence only after seeing the photographs) was suggestions for great shots. Some of the pictures could have been 5-star images (currently I'd put them at 3) had he taken the liberty to suggest some setting changes or paid better attention to backgrounds (or suggest changes) and/or dressing. I put this as an ouch (as opposed to a negative remark) because he probably assumed we know exactly how we want the pictures. Some of the photographers I worked with previously told me about those changes and the results were pretty good. Bottom line: If you know exactly what you want, are the kind to take care of the settings or communicate your needs/expectations precisely (which I did not I guess), and need someone good/fast with the lens (to capture great moments) and someone who is patient with you and the kids, go for Paul. We had engaged him for a kids' birthday party (which in itself is hard thing to cover) and he did a good job, at a short notice.
We had a wonderful experience with Rachel. We were on our family vacation to Washington DC from Louisiana and wanted to take some pictures to use for a Christmas card. Rachel suggested Great Falls Park which is beautiful. She met us out there and hiked with us as we explored and posed for some shots. What we got was amazing to say the least. She snapped tons of photos, candid and posed. It was so much fun. You can't go wrong with Rachel. She is very friendly and knows what she is doing.
Great! I hate having my picture taken so I liked that it was really comfortable and casual. She had me send pictures of myself prior to the shoot that I thought made me look beautiful and used that to help with strategies. in my case, I was laughing in all the pictures I sent her so she did things to make me smile and laugh naturally. I didn't feel awkward and she caught a lot of great posed pictures as well as candids. I got to change outfits and we did one location. Very worth it!
