Omba Yoga Workshop provides challenging yet stress-free classes in hatha yoga for beginners and more advanced practitioners. Our passions are to assist people in making the transition into fitness and continue a long-term sense of well-being health. We do this through stretching and strengthening poses that feel good and help the body resist feelings of "out of control" discomfort often due to aging, injury, or misalignment. Providing support and encouragement while eliminating competition is what we do best. Our goal is to help practitioners find new ways to connect to the energy and natural healing deep within. I truly believe it's all about feeling good. When we feel good, it seems easier to save the world, love our neighbor, do a kind deed, be grateful for a beautiful day, take time to watch a sunset or anything that gives meaning and joy to our day. My clients include seniors of all ages (my oldest student is 89), young women with jobs and children that have kept them away from regular exercise, athletes recovering from injuries, men and women of all ages with medical issues for which yoga can be therapeutic, and others wanting to continue their practice in a supportive yet challenging environment. In addition to being offered in Middleburg, VA, scheduled classes are available outside of Warrenton, VA. Private classes are also offered.
I am a 200-hour RYT based in Washington, D.C. I've been practicing yoga for 20 years -- first, hatha, then Bikram, and now power vinyasa and ashtanga. My classes are approachable, fun, and challenging, and I cater to both individuals and small groups. I believe yoga can transform your physical health and well-being, but I'm most interested in how it can make you a more mindful, calm, and happy human being. I infuse my instruction with humor and lightheartedness. It's yoga, after all, not heart surgery.
Julia Romano, founder of (Em)Power Yoga and Wellness, offers yoga classes and retreats geared to empower each practitioner to access their own, inner, and infinite source of ease and peace. Julia is a 500-hour certified hatha and vinyasa flow instructor (Yoga Alliance), whose teaching focuses on coordinating breath with practical movement, transforming yoga asana into powerful meditation. While Julia's classes range from the soft and meditative to the challenging and fiery, all are grounded in accessible, practical movements and above all, in the cultivation of breath-linking awareness. In both her physical and meditative instruction, Julia integrates the variety of styles and instructions in her training, including ashtanga yoga (Saraswati Jois 2009), hatha yoga (Bharath Shetty, March 2010 and December 2013), dharma yoga (Dharma Mittra, June 2012), budokon yoga (Cameron Shayne, November 2012), and power yoga (Bryan Kest, August 2013). Julia's belief in yoga as therapy stems from her own experience of its rehabilitative properties; traditional physical therapies having proved unproductive following reconstructive ankle surgery, she turned to yoga and gained not only the ability to again walk and run with ease but also a profound acceptance for the inevitable times in life when we falter. To Julia, yoga is a process of continual refinement; poses are not achieved, but rather joyfully explored. Julia's instruction offers variations for every practitioner, from injured and beginner to advanced, although Julia believes that there is no such thing as a better yogi, only a more conscious practitioner, and anyone, regardless of physical prowess, can practice with awareness. Such regular practice helps cultivate strength, flexibility, and peace of mind through acceptance, and comfort in difficult positions; these are the qualities that the practitioner can take off the mat and into daily life. Julia is, additionally, trained in clinical psychology (M.Psy. August 2013) and is also currently completing a Master of Science in Yoga Therapy. Julia views the work of yoga as both a being and a doing, as the enlightened state, as well as the process of clearing the shadows. The eight limbs of yoga, of which the physical practice of asana is only one, are ultimately a tool; asana is a conduit for what is essentially a practice of the mind. A complete practice of yoga is a means by which the suffering-inducing patterns of the mind can be untangled and rewoven in ways that better serve the ultimate goal: union with the joyfully self-accepting higher self. Julia is currently a full-time senior teacher with Yoga District, which has six locations within DC. Julia is available for private group and private asana and meditation training. Julia also donates time to community health care and general wellness support. Contact Julia for more information.
I have been a practitioner of vinyasa flow for over 7 years. It started out as a necessity in high school to help me recover from a bad back and scoliosis and help me build confidence. Eventually, I began practicing every day in college at various studios around New York City. When I moved to DC, I missed home and needed to feel more grounded. Yoga helped me do that. Life is always changing for me. Yoga, however, has always been the one thing that has always been there for me, and it always will be. I want yoga to always be there for my students. As a new yoga instructor on the market, my goal is to not just help people become fit and flexible. I specialize in vinyasa-style yoga, and occasionally, ashtanga. I know many pranayama exercises which I always incorporate into my classes at the end of the session. I help students link breath to each movement, as well as breath control, so that we not only become more flexible but can also achieve our greatest potential. I incorporate the chakras or energy centers into each and every individual practice. I am certified to teach vinyasa and hatha yoga and received my 200-hour certification though Faith Hunter's Embrace Your Flow. I have also learned ashtanga style. I believe that everyone is different, and that each yogi has his/her own way of breathing authentically in his/her own way.

In Claudia's yoga, you will experience physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual wellness along with your practice. My classes are suited for those at a beginner and intermediate level. My classes are designed to: * Let go of tension - Mental and emotional tension affects your body. We will begin our class with breathing, let the tension wash away, and focus on just being in your body for the duration of the practice. * Respect your body - We will not try to force your body into postures for and "ideal pose." Instead, we will modify and adapt these postures to suit your body to make you healthy and strong. We will take breaks when you need to do so. My class goes at the pace that is right for you. * Be aware - We will consciously draw attention to the areas of your body that you are stretching and strengthening. We will never force a pose. Your body will invite you to go deeper when it is ready. * Strength and flexibility build in increments - You will see your body transforming through a regular practice. There is no competition in yoga. You may be more flexible one day than another or stronger one week than another. Your body has natural fluctuations in hormones which affect muscle flexibility and strength, and fluctuations in energy level. You will deepen your practice over time. Enjoy your journey. * Breath - The fluid, natural rhythm of your breath is priority. Throughout your practice, we will breathe slowly and deeply. I incorporate in my class balance, posture, core strength and flexibility simultaneously. The challenges you come across in your practice can be applied in your daily life. With regular practice you will be able to: * Eliminate back pain by improving muscle tone and limberness * Increase your strength and energy, giving a sense of well-being and self- confidence * Increase your flexibility and improve power and accuracy * Relieve your tension and stress * Learn visualization and relaxation techniques * Improve your ability to focus in the moment, blocking out distractions, external or internal * Improve your ability to remain relaxed, calm and centered after any situation * Improved flexibility and strength * Enhanced breathing awareness * Quieter mind = increased concentration and visualization capabilities * Improved overall fitness = reduced risk of injury and recovery time * Increased sense of balance = more effective control/weight distribution

I am a certified yoga instructor. (RYT 200 Hour Certification) Physical and mental wellbeing have always been important to me. I grew up in ballet studios, which taught me the importance of discipline, strength and well-being. However it was not until I found yoga that I felt truly connected and content with my body. I took my first Ashtanga Yoga class while living in Florence, Italy pursuing my Masters Degree. The class was candlelit with expansive windows that opened up over the River Arno. I still remember how intimidated I felt as a beginner, walking into an unknown. Looking back I could not be happier that I took that first step into this journey. In 2012 I completed the 5 week long 200-hour certification at the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat on Paradise Island, Bahamas. This immersion and exposure to the classical philosophy of the Hatha Yoga gave me a greater understanding of the practice that I am continually eager to share. I am devoted to the practice and have found that it is rewarding and effective to incorporate the teachings of multiple yoga traditions, plyometric exercise and dance technique into our own lives.
I teach group and private yoga classes, ranging from vinyasa, Hatha, to prenatal. I strive to provide a safe and fun environment, to help you meet your yoga goals.

Ashish Yogas goal is to provide yoga classes in a unique learning environment that are exceptionally instructed, informative, and affordable to all students. Ashish Yoga offers classical hatha yoga classes based on the Sivananda style. There are several distinct characteristics of hatha yoga based on the Sivananda style. They are the following: * Greater emphasis on meditation and relaxation techniques which are vital to controlling the mind and thoughts * Focused breathing exercises which are important for purifying energy channels * Extended hold of asanas (postures) which release tension and facilitate meditation * Leverage of natural environments, unaltered by control of internal temperatures, that allow the mind and body to conform to present conditions * Elimination of props (blocks, straps, etc.) that adapts to individual body types while maintaining proper alignment and posture The Sivananda style of yoga is ideal for individuals who are looking to make a deeper connection to yoga in pursuit of mind and body perfection. The practice emphasizes concentration, meditation, relaxation, pranayama (breathing), and asanas (postures). Sivananda Yoga is much different than other approaches of yoga that focus on physical aerobic exercise and continuous flowing movements and moves at a more controlled pace deepening the mind and body experience. A Sivananda Yoga practice can have profound impact to the body and mind, such as reducing stress, improving sleep, increasing metabolism, and controlling anxiety.
I offer traditional hatha yoga. The practice is quite different than how modern, western yoga style are practiced. Each asana and its philosophy should be logically coordinated. As I learn yoga, I know only two: Patanjali's Asthanga yoga and hatha yoga, but it is quite different than other patented yogas.
