These cleaners get five stars! I got a deep cleaning. 2 ladies for about 4 hours. They were so thorough and professional. I've never before seen the deep track lines of a vacuum on my stairs and I love it. Also, my oven hasn't been this clean in ages. They did arrive almost an hour early which was a little difficult for me but we managed and it does not lower my rating. I may schedule them more regularly. THANKS

Oh my god. I can’t live without Roxy now. My house has never been cleaner and I absolutely want her to come on a regular basis now. I gave up on my oven getting clean 5 years ago....after Roxy came and cleaned, it looks like I bought a new one. I walked into my home and it smelled soooooo good. I usually have to burn a bunch of candles to achieve that :’D

Jessy's cleaning service did an amazing job!!! Jessica and her employees went above and beyond when cleaning our house. They cleaned everything on their list and then some. They showed up exactly when they said they would and finished when they said they would. I am so excited to have found someone that does quality work!!! If you get quotes on thumbtack and Jessy's cleaning service is one of the estimates I would reccomend you hire her!!! As the icing on the cake all my bathrooms had bows at the end of the toilet paper. Seems like no big deal but to take the time to do something so little after cleaning our home top to bottom shows their attention to detail:).

I hired Mrs. Green Clean Maid Service to do a deep cleaning of my house just before I turned over the keys to the new owners. They arrived on-time (in fact a little early which was great for me) and deep a wonderful job cleaning the 1800 sq. ft. townhouse (3BR, 4BA), including the refrigerator and oven. 2 people, 3 hours. Just liked they quoted me.

Sonia and Rolando were Amazing! They did an outstanding job on my home. It looks as good as it did when we first moved in. They spent hours and hours scrubbing every nook and cranny of my house! The bathrooms look like new! Sonia even cleaned my oven and it looks so good I don't want to use it! They worked tirelessly to get my entire house clean! They were both so sweet! I would definitely hire them again and recommend them to anyone! I was nervous about someone cleaning my house but I was very pleased with the outcome will definitely hire them again in the near future.

Jennri and his team (and he really has a team, each who specialize) did an amazing job for us, completing a total house renovation that was abandoned half way through. They were thorough, made good suggestions, worked quickly, and offered very fair prices. They did electrical work, tiling, drywall, painting, and installation of appliances and cabinets. They did really great work - I've already recommended him several times! We also hired his cleaning services to clean our (really really gross) old house before we sold it and they left it totally spotless (including the oven!!) for a great price. We will definitely continue to hire him for anything that comes up!

Price was Good. Flexible with scheduling & Rescheduling. Punctual. Brought their own supplies. Polite. They didn't know how to pull out the stove and oven from its space to clean gaps b/w stove and countertop. Hit a wall with my ladder and caused minor paint damage. Bathtub still had stains from keeping stuff on the sides. Got a feeling they expected more money than agreed upon, got a bit of vibe regarding that. Didn't have any change on them so I paid slightly extra. I would hire them again for the value.Great job all in all. I had no issues when apartment was inspected. They worked very hard and fast to finish cleaning. Had requested them to get a plunger but they didn't.

Carmen was so lovely and happy to help! I had a crazy messy room, even sent her photos so that she knew how much of a mess we were talking. We she got here and I showed her in person, I started apologizing for how messy it was. She said, "no worries, we are here to help you". And that's what she did! Her and her two helpers took it all on and I'm now left with a clean floor that I haven't seen in a year. Also, one of her helpers super cleaned the oven and got off stains that were there when I moved in 5 years ago, and I've tried everything to get it off within those years. In short, Carmen and her team are magical!

The lady and gentleman who came out to do the oven and refrigerator cleaning were really, really nice and did an exceptional job. They were well-mannered and courteous and my mother (Mrs. D'Sylva) was very, very happy with the job they did. This was a cleaning to prep the house to put it up for sale, so it had to be impeccable - Manuel Ponce and his wife (I believe) were wonderful and the price was reasonable and fair. I would definitely use them again. Thank you Manuel!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much do you pay for house cleaning?

Hiring a professional house cleaning service is a helpful way to have a healthy home even when your work and personal schedule is packed. House cleaning prices vary based on how many square feet your home is, how dirty your house gets, and how often the cleaning service comes. Some companies charge a set amount — such as 5 cents — per square foot, with a minimum amount, such as $100. The national average cost for house cleaning ranges between $110 and $150. Prices can be lower in areas with a lower cost of living, higher in big cities or affluent regions. You may save money by increasing the frequency of your house cleaning visits. Often a company will charge you less per cleaning when you schedule more cleanings per month. The cost advantage rewards your loyalty, and also reflects the fact that more frequent cleanings make it easier to maintain a high level of cleanliness in your home. A housecleaning service may charge more for the first visit or for one-time services than for recurring cleanings.

How much does refrigerator repair cost?

Refrigerator repair generally costs a fraction of the price of a new fridge and shouldhave your appliance up and running again in no time. The problems your refrigerator is experiencing and the parts required to fix it will affect your repair costs. Where you live can affect labor rates, which will raise or lower your costs. Here are some examples of average costs:

  • Diagnostic fees: $50-$100. Repair pros often have a service call fee or diagnostic fee to account for their time traveling to your location with all their tools to assess the problem. If you choose to have them repair the fridge, most pros then credit this fee toward your repair cost.
  • Parts: $20-$500. A new compressor averages $200, an icemaker $300, and computerized components such as touch screens and control boards average $300 or more.
  • Basic repairs: $180-$400, including parts. This price range can include repairing the evaporator or fan motor.

How much does it cost to deep clean a house?

Deep cleaning a house goes beyond the surface level to clear out the dust, grime and gunk that’s collecting on the fan blades, hiding in the blinds, and built up inside the refrigerator drawers. Deep cleaning of a home or apartment costs more than regular house cleaning because it takes more time, effort, and cleaning products. You may choose to have a deep cleaning once or several times a year in addition to your standard cleaning services. You may have a one-time deep cleaning to prepare for company or to clean after a house party. Companies may charge an hourly rate or a price per square foot, or may offer you a flat rate after they have visited your home and estimated work time. The national average house cleaning price is $110-$150, with rates ranging higher for deep-cleaning services. Here are some examples of how a company may calculate their deep-cleaning prices:

  • 10 cents per square foot (compared with 5 cents per square foot for standard house cleaning).
  • $300 for a 3,000-square-foot home.
  • $25 per hour per worker for deep-cleaning services.

How long do fridges last?

Refrigerators can last 10 to 20 years, although the most common lifespan is about 13 years. If your fridge is acting up, consider its current age when deciding whether to invest in repairs or buy a new one. Common easy fixes include faulty thermostats, dirty coils and clogged drain lines. Thermostats and dirty coils can be generally be fixed for an average cost of $80-$100. Clogged drain lines, which usually cause leaks, can often be fixed for under $200.

More complex refrigeration repairs such as replacing a bad compressor or replenishing low refrigerant can cost more because of expensive parts and higher labor. A new compressor costs an average of $200, not including labor. If labor is an average of $75-$100 per hour, and the repair takes 3 hours, you’re looking at roughly $500. Consider the age and purchase cost of your fridge; investing $350 in a $600 fridge that is 8 years old may not be cost-effective.

How much does a move-out cleaning cost?

Moving is hard enough work even before you have to clean the empty home to perfection. Instead of scrubbing your tile grout with a toothbrush, hire a professional cleaning company to provide move-out cleaning services for you. For moving out of an apartment, cleaning prices can range from $110 to $150. When scheduling a move-out cleaning, talk with the pro and confirm all the key points they will clean to ensure you receive your deposit back.

Important areas to have cleaned include the fridge interior, the oven interior, bathroom tile, the shower and tub, all blinds, and sometimes the walls. Some cleaning companies do not quote a flat rate for a move-out cleaning, as the number of hours it may take to clean structurally identical apartments could vary greatly depending on how clean or dirty the inhabitants were. For example, move-out house cleaning prices may range from $150 to $180 for one- or two-bedroom apartments.
