My lesson with Don, who's very amicable and respectful of the student's desires, was a good experience. His approach with drumming students is based more in music theory and from the perspective of the other band members (vocalist, guitarist, etc.), so he advocates for a strong base in fundamental beats, staying in rhythm, and understanding how to sync up with other members of a band. Not previously having this perspective, his insight was valuable and I've taken some of the things he's mentioned to heart. For me, the material was pretty easy to pick up since I have some experience both with the drums and piano, but other students may initially fumble with his quick pace - don't let that discourage you though, I believe that even a true beginner could get used to the pace within a few lessons. If your desire is to start gigging, he's very adamant about getting you on a fast track towards doing just that. If you're willing to put in the effort I believe that he speaks earnestly and you'll soon be gigging. Overall I recommend him if you're looking for a good, well-rounded intro.
Mr. Grattan provided videography, a band, and a duo, for my daughter's wedding. It was such a relief having all of that in the hands of one person instead of three different vendors. The band was called the Rockits, and they were fantastic. They played great music and when they went on break, they played new music like a DJ would. It was really perfect. The duo was PG&Robin. They were really good for the beginning when people were heading in and having a champagne before the ceremony. The video Mr. Grattan did was really professional and my daughter got it within a week, which is unheard of. She got a long and short one. I highly recommend Mr. Grattan and PG Productions for video and entertainment.
Stevie and John did an awesome job with my party! They arrived on time with all of their equipment, didn't need anything from me, and were super professional so I could keep enjoying the night. Their list of songs was extensive and when my friends came up with songs not on the list, they learned them on the spot if possible! Stevie even figured out Santana's Maria, Maria at my dad's request so we could have a father/daughter dance. Everyone had so much fun that we are talking about all chipping in to make having a private band an annual fun event! Their lights when if got dark made it seem like we were in our own private club. Also, I didn't even realize it until the end of the night- they didn't take any breaks (except when the VERY dark rain clouds threatened!) so the music just kept going and there wasn't a lull in the fun. Stevie turned my fun graduation party into an amazing night!
My son Conor and I really enjoyed seeing you again @ Dogfish...you started at 8:05 and were still playing when we left after 11...nice talking to you between sets too. We saw Dylan in Bangor (Aug 20 ) and have booked a trip to see him and Mark Knopfler in Dublin on October 5th...!!!! But we will see you at both Slainte and Dogfish as well. Now that's a damn fine October lineup, if I may be so bold! Cheers, john & conor

I decided to start looking for a voice coach for my daughter Taylor in the fall of 2014. I asked friends and looked at reviews. I entered Sam Shins website and knew I had found her coach. His mission statement and choice of studio name touched my heart El Melody, E for everlasting and L for love Gods Love. I immediately contacted him and set up an appointment. Mr. Sam greeted us with a warm smile and his signature hat. He sang a few bars while he played the keyboard, and it was honestly some of the sweetest music weve ever heard. Sam asked my daughter to sing so he could assess her needs. We discussed her goals musically and beyond. He made my daughter feel comfortable and we signed on. Sam began instruction with the fundamentals defining types of breathing, breathing techniques and exercises, musical terminology, exposure to various genres of music, etc. It was weeks before actual singing began. Sam was first building a foundation. Then with encouragement and guidance he elicited the best out of Taylor. The year culminated in a rehearsal at a Grammywinning recording studio and a tear jerker performance of Beautiful at Jammin Java with a live band. Each lesson with Sam feels like a spiritual experience. He is knowledgeable and exudes a love of music and people. Taylors life has been enriched by Sams mentorship.
I have to give Ernie Fields and his band two thumbs up. With winds blowing, rain falling, sides coming off the tent. Even though I told them it was OK and call it a day, They just kept on going. I would recommend Ernie Fields,, to anyone and all. Ernie Fields, a great entertainer and a true gentleman will do what it takes to insure your event will be remembered for years to come. Thank you Ernie Fields. My new found friend and all future events guy.

We had such an awesome time with this group. We had a neighborhood picnic on Saturday and I'm still getting emails from attendees about The Marquees. Great band and great singers. They showed up well in advance to make sure they were set up by the time we had them scheduled to play. You will not go wrong if you hire this group - original back up singers for Marvin Gaye. We have asked them to come back for our next annual picnic. Fun and more fun! ❤️🇺🇸
We hired Kim's trio for our jazz soiree and they were excellent! Kim let us know a few days prior to the event that he couldn't make it, and gave us the option of canceling or having the trio w/ another pianist playing in his stead. We could have gotten another band altogether (three replied to our request on Thumbtack), but we went w/ his option of the substitute pianist and could not have been happier. The trio was fabulous, attendees from the young to the not so young loved all the tunes, and everyone had the best time. We are definitely putting Kim and his trio or quartet on our slate of events for 2018.
We provide the best DJ and band show that personifies professionalism. Everyone has a great time, and we exceed the customer's expectations every time.
I am an R&B artist from Baltimore. I am currently finishing up my first album by multi-platinum producer Herb Middleton. I sing, write song, arrange and produce. I honestly have a gift for melody creation. I also have my own band. We perform songs ranging from classic soul, i.e. Marvin Gaye, Sam Cooke, Eddie Kendricks, Stevie Wonder to contemporary, i.e. Maxwell, D'Angelo, Chris Brown, etc. Most people in the area call my sound "New Age Motown".

Bad Influence, the premier Washington, DC band, has been playing their style of blues-infused, high-energy music since 1988. Ever-growing crowds turn out for the band's scorching hot and sinfully addicting shows, which are charged with a masterful blend of sensuously rough edges wrapped in soulful smoothness, riveting rock currents and potent shots of swing and American roots music. All this is signed, sealed and delivered in a suggestive, in-your-face style guaranteed to captivate even the most stoic of mind, body and spirit. The award-winning Bad Influence features Bob Mallardi on bass and vocals, Hohner endorsed artist Roger Edsall on harp and vocals, Epiphone endorsed artist Michael "Jr" Tash on guitar and vocals, and Sonor endorsed artist David Thaler on the drums.
This post is a few months overdue, but we hired Sounds Good for our wedding's outdoor cocktail hour over the summer. We went with the 2 piece sax and guitar and they sounded great from every area outside. Very professional, easy to work with and our guests really enjoyed the music. Would highly recommend for any function.
