Mike and Nick did our home inspection today. The inspection was scheduled for 10am and at just about 3:30pm we were done. To say they were thorough is an understatement. When we arrived at the house, they were already up on the roof investigating the shingles, gutters, chimney, etc....and worked their way around the whole exterior, the attic, and the interior, then into the unfinished basement, and the crawl space under the house. Mike spent a good amount of time discusses how we need to re-grade the landscaping to help keep water away from the home. We learned so much about the property we were buying and about home ownership in general. We feel like we understand much better what we are buying now. They were very patient and knowledgable and their expertise was invaluable. They even helped use prioritize which repairs and renovations we should take on first. We will certainly be recommending NextDay Inspect whenever we have the chance in the future and would definitely use them again. We honestly can't imagine a home inspection being any better than this one was. NetxDay Inspect is the gold standard.
Months ago, I looked for someone to do a small painting project on Thumbtack. And I ended up with a brand new home. Christian, Jessica, Hector and the rest of the team at 5th Gen Group honestly do miracles. We own a 100+ year old row home in Washington DC and we've had problems ever since we moved in five years ago. After dealing with four different contractors that left me unsatisfied, I tried Thumbtack (at that time, new in the DC area). Christian came out to do an estimate and I was impressed by him from the get go - as a woman, I hate when contractors act like I'm stupid or uninformed. Christian never did that, and he answered all my questions respectfully and thoroughly and would defer to my wishes. We initially contracted for a gut remodel of our ancient kitchen and leaking bathroom. Christian's professional opinion was heavily appreciated as well as his vision - he instantly "got" the feel of a space and spent a lot of time listening to not only what we wanted, but how we would use the space and what we planned for the house in the future. Of course, the best laid plans always go awry - we knew our house had a few "handyman specials" but once Christian opened up the floor in the kitchen, we realized we were really in for it. Down there was a hidden mess of rotting wires, missing piping, garbage from the last renovations, and rotted-out beams. Overnight, our budget doubled. I personally wanted to die. But Christian calmly lead us through the process, helped us try to salvage our murdered budget, and focused on explaining the trade-off in home values. We ended up with an additional half bath downstairs (because really, what was another 5K at that point?), brand new kitchen (with a small bar!) a brand new stairwell and relocated laundry room, and a brand new bathroom with a shower (after 5 years of an ancient leaking cast iron tub). Christian isn't completely perfect - he's totally a perfectionist, and if you are one too, be prepared for some long conversations. There is an epic texting exchange over the bathroom tile that I may print out just to see how long it really was. But that's about the only thing. Also, for the other ladies on here- I always hate opening my home to someone because I have had bad experiences with contractors who were, at best, creepy. Christian and Hector were completely professional, and they really went the extra mile to make sure I always knew who would be in the house, when they would arrive, and how to reach both of them. Christian also has a lot of loyalty and integrity toward his clients - he is always fair, both in pricing and in the treatment of your home. He broke a small appliance - the only reason I knew was because he called me when he was purchasing an (upgraded) replacement on his own dime. All renovations are hard projects, long projects, and frequently frustrating. There was definitely a day when I wanted to kill Christian for sending me out to two different quarries in far out Virginia right around rush around. But when I stepped into my home for the first time, I couldn't stop smiling. And when we finally scrape together the budget for a third floor extension, I know exactly who I am calling.
I hired Ben with Certified Building Inspections to complete an inspection and radon test for a home we are trying to purchase. He was extremely responsive to my initial inquiry and was able to complete the inspection to meet my timeline. His pricing was very competitive with other companies I contacted. Upon arrival at the property, he explained how he would complete the inspection (outside/in, top/bottom, left/right) and asked if I had any questions. I felt he was very thorough and explained what he was looking for in each room. He made sure to point out areas needing attention but also highlighted what was done correctly with the house construction. I had the inspection report including pictures the same day and a revised report with the radon results and thermal images when the test was complete. His service also includes follow-up calls if you have maintenance questions while you own the house. Overall, Ben is an extremely genuine person who stands behind his work and I would not hesitate to hire him again.
Patrick was on dot for our Home Inspection. Even before he rang the door bell at the specific time he completed the preliminary outside the house. He did spend close to 3 Hrs for our Home Inspection and explained to us as what he is doing, why he is doing and whom to reach out incase of any issues. He also ensure he shared the documents on the same day and I would definitely hire him for any home inspection next time.
Paul inspected a damaged rafter and assessed our attic joists for feasibility of adding an attic storage platform. Paul explained the repair method for the damaged rafter, he identified all of the load-bearing walls that could be used to support the new attic storage, and he provided a detailed plan of just how a platform could be installed. He spent time with me on-site giving verbal advice, and he sent a full written report afterward along with several detailed drawings.
I am a realtor and my client needed a home inspector at the last minute because the one she selected cancelled. I contacted SafeSales. Mr. Cheek came and did an excellent job! He was professional and explained the homes major systems in layman's terms that my first time homeowner could understand. I have since referred Mr. Cheek to other clients who have been very satisfied. He makes me look good as a realtor and they have all thanked me for referring him.
Mike was very detailed with his report and took a great deal of time going over the whole home during inspection. When he was done the inspection he took me around the home and showed me anything that may need attention later or immediately. He also included many photos which is great when going back over the report at a later time.
Cliff was extremely responsive and squeezed our inspection in with very short notice to meet a contingency deadline. Him and his partner were thorough and provided us with all the information we needed.
While home ownership is very exciting and rewarding, there is no guarantee that you will profit when you sell if your investment lacks the proper maintenance. Approximately half of the resale and 90% of foreclosed homes on the market today have at least one major significant defect that will end up costing more money to fix in the future than if corrected earlier. My home inspection service is not just what is presently wrong with the house but also what you need to do to prevent trouble down the road. It is an educational session.

James did a great job not only in successfully accomplishing what he was supposed to, as a professional inspector, but also in helping me understand every part of "my new-house." He had been extremely responsive and supportive through out the entire process. He was also very honest about what he can and he can't do. I was also happy that I was present during the inspection, otherwise I wouldn't have benefited from his expertise. I never thought he would point out as many things as he did given that the condo was new. Now I have the bargaining power, through his help, to ask for the seller fixing the identified issues here and there prior to settling the purchase. I am sure I would have to pay a lot if I were to bypass them... He even arrived at the site earlier than I myself and was very punctual. He also made the report available with in less than 4 hours after the he completed the site inspection. Of course, I was also offered a competitive rate compared to other inspectors in DMV--which was the primary reason for me to choose him until I happened to have the first had experience of the customer delight. In general, I strongly recommend him for any one in search of a professional home inspection help.
Wow! We couldn't have asked for a more thourough home inspection! Dean arrived on site early and spent 3.5+ hours evaluating a 1700sqft house (in 90 degree heat!). The report was 70+ pages with color photos, great explanations of all issues, and helpful information about important aspects of the home. After the inspection, he went out of his way to look into potential appliance recalls, and looked into manufacturer recommendations for proper care. If you want a report with integrity, we highly recommend Dean Gross.

Mike spends sufficient time to look thru top to bottom. He is very thorough and the report shows all of the findings with the picture. He even adds things that the home owner should know in addition to what the home inspection contains. He is excellent.
I've had two home inspections with Matt. He is thorough and pulls no punches. He understands the magnitude of his job and puts the homebuyer first. Will answer any and all questions and gives great advice!

Vertex Home Inspection is excellent. Vertex was referred by a friend of mine who had a great experience with them inspecting a new home he was having built. They surpassed my expectations. I scheduled the Ultimate Inspection Package with them because I was not taking any chances when buying this new home. They were easy to get in touch with and promptly responded to all inquires prior to the inspection. Come inspection day they showed up a few minutes early ready to work. When he told me the inspection would take 3 - 4 hours, I was skeptical but it took almost every minute of four hours. Alan was great at answering questions and addressing all my concerns during and after the inspection. His report was super detail oriented and he picked up more issues than I could have imagined. Not only was the report, very detailed, it was easy to read. Post inspection, Vertex was great at answering follow up questions and got me all follow up reports for the Mold and Radon tests when promised. In a nutshell, Vertex provides top notch customer service coupled with a superb work product. They are detailed oriented and extremely thorough. They are reasonably priced and worth every penny. I strongly recommend that anyone in need of a home inspection hire Vertex.
