This is my first time using Thumbtack and honestly, I am really satisfied with water heater installation from Walter. Our Water heater was leaking (19 years old) and needed immediate replacement since it was leaking. I was calling all over for the contractors for prices and they all ranged over $1000. Also, other contractors were willing to charge extra fees and unnecessary county code. Walter was professional and very kind. He explained in details about the water heaters and purchasing county code is not necessary. He also showed up at home depot 7 in the morning and picked all the necessary parts and water heater. All I needed to do was to make the purchase. Also, he delivered water heater to my home AT NO ADDITIONAL COST. He finished the work in a timely manner and cleaned up well. I am REALLY satisfied with his service. Walter is going to my plumber and I am going to introduce him to my friends and neighbours. His labour cost is very affordable and reasonable compare to other contractors. I was able to save hundreds of dollars in labour cost. Overall you will never regret hiring Hi solution and Walter is the guy. He is a licensed contractor.
We own a real estate company and are so satisfied that we left Eds guys a tremendous tip because of their effort in making sure that the property was in the best presentable position for us to list it on the market. There were several phases to this project which concluded the the trash removal and cleansing/\cleaning of the building. First we had EBRR handle some mold that needed to be removed and treatment of the air for the previous tenant. Then it was the outside area that needed to be cleaned of all the debris. We couldn't believe the short time span which all this work was completed and the price was not able to beaten by any other contractors in the area. Mr.Ed goes and does anything to make sure the client is satisfied being us! Always answers the phone and couldn't ask for more pleasurable experience.
Nilto & his team did a great job removing my popcorn ceilings, painting the walls, changing faucets, locks, lights, doors, and etc. Nilto is very responsive and professional. He is polite & very good at listening what you say. His prices are much more fair than the other contractors I spoke too and he does a very good job. I will definitely contact him again!
Was very pleased with Lucas Paving. Steve and his team not only repaved and sealed my driveway, which looks fabulous, but also replaced grout between bricks surrounding the driveway. And by using polymeric joint sand, it not only looks better but will be easier to fix in the future. Lastly, he power washed the brick staircase. His total price for these services was fair and it certainly saved me time from having to search for additional contractors. Steve followed through on all his commitments; if a date/time needed to be changed, he let me know well in advance. Overall, was a pleasure to work with and would do so again when the need arises.
Makimanta removed a concrete patio and sidewalks and replaced a crumbling retaining wall and wooden fence in my backyard. More than any other company that gave me a quote, Makimanta really listened to what I was looking for and didn't try to suggest a quick slapdash replacement of just my fence. Their craftsmanship and attention to detail really shine through in the finished fence, and they worked hard to deliver the project on time. They did a really nice job and the entire experience working with them was awesome.
Months ago, I looked for someone to do a small painting project on Thumbtack. And I ended up with a brand new home. Christian, Jessica, Hector and the rest of the team at 5th Gen Group honestly do miracles. We own a 100+ year old row home in Washington DC and we've had problems ever since we moved in five years ago. After dealing with four different contractors that left me unsatisfied, I tried Thumbtack (at that time, new in the DC area). Christian came out to do an estimate and I was impressed by him from the get go - as a woman, I hate when contractors act like I'm stupid or uninformed. Christian never did that, and he answered all my questions respectfully and thoroughly and would defer to my wishes. We initially contracted for a gut remodel of our ancient kitchen and leaking bathroom. Christian's professional opinion was heavily appreciated as well as his vision - he instantly "got" the feel of a space and spent a lot of time listening to not only what we wanted, but how we would use the space and what we planned for the house in the future. Of course, the best laid plans always go awry - we knew our house had a few "handyman specials" but once Christian opened up the floor in the kitchen, we realized we were really in for it. Down there was a hidden mess of rotting wires, missing piping, garbage from the last renovations, and rotted-out beams. Overnight, our budget doubled. I personally wanted to die. But Christian calmly lead us through the process, helped us try to salvage our murdered budget, and focused on explaining the trade-off in home values. We ended up with an additional half bath downstairs (because really, what was another 5K at that point?), brand new kitchen (with a small bar!) a brand new stairwell and relocated laundry room, and a brand new bathroom with a shower (after 5 years of an ancient leaking cast iron tub). Christian isn't completely perfect - he's totally a perfectionist, and if you are one too, be prepared for some long conversations. There is an epic texting exchange over the bathroom tile that I may print out just to see how long it really was. But that's about the only thing. Also, for the other ladies on here- I always hate opening my home to someone because I have had bad experiences with contractors who were, at best, creepy. Christian and Hector were completely professional, and they really went the extra mile to make sure I always knew who would be in the house, when they would arrive, and how to reach both of them. Christian also has a lot of loyalty and integrity toward his clients - he is always fair, both in pricing and in the treatment of your home. He broke a small appliance - the only reason I knew was because he called me when he was purchasing an (upgraded) replacement on his own dime. All renovations are hard projects, long projects, and frequently frustrating. There was definitely a day when I wanted to kill Christian for sending me out to two different quarries in far out Virginia right around rush around. But when I stepped into my home for the first time, I couldn't stop smiling. And when we finally scrape together the budget for a third floor extension, I know exactly who I am calling.
I hired Brandon Contractor to installed a backsplash in my kitchen and he did a great job. He came out in hours after our first contact and gave me a reasonable quote, I knew immediately that I would hire him. He and his crew came to my house two days later and did a superb job. My rack in my laundry room fell down the day before he arrived. Once he came to my house I showed him my mayhem and he said don't worry I'll fix it today. Brandon Contractors are a must hire for the job. Thank you and I will be calling him again....🤗
Leonardo is honest and reasonable in his pricing - he is conscientious and diligent in his efforts to do a good job and always makes sure you are satisfied - if there is an issue, it's typically minor and he always takes the time to correct it to your satisfaction. His work ethic is strong and he works tirelessly, often well beyond normal working hours, to finish a job on time. There is, on rare occasion, a minor language barrier but if you take your time it is always manageable. Leonardo cleans up after himself and puts his tools away before leaving for the day - he is not always on time but he is very good about letting you know he is running late, usually via text. I would definitely rate him as a 5 star contractor. He did all the tile work, some drywall and all the framing in our basement project to date and plans to help us with the last few things as we complete the project.
I am very happy with my privacy fence. I accepted the offer on a Sunday and the job was completed that Monday! Work was fast & good. Still, I must do my due diligence and write a honest review. First I'd like to say Luis was gracious enough to cut down and haul away four 10ft skinny junk trees at no cost. This was a good compromise because he ended up changing the quoted cost of the job by several hundred dollars more, which made me unhappy because I felt a bit boxed in to move forward since he had already started. However, I am happy to say, his changed price was still the lowest of my 3 quotes. I think the fence looks very nice and is exactly what I wanted (with the exception of the jagged edge). For that, I plan to get some white duck tape and tape off the jagged edge. Again, I am happy with the finished project and plan to hire them to do some driveway enhancements for me.
I had a broken concrete driveway apron that was seriously defective in that it had broken into three pieces and two of those pieces had sunken in enough that we couldn't safely drive a car into the driveway itself. Pat came out for an estimate on time, provided an estimate that fit our needs and budget, and was able to start the next day. When I got home from work the next day, the new apron was in (and looked great) and one of his workers was touching up some mortar joints on my house. When Pat was done cleaning up, he explained what he had done. The site itself was cleaned up perfectly and the only way you could tell work had been done was the new apron and the caution tape they had put around it while it dried. We have already received several compliments from our neighbors on the new apron, as it had apparently been an issue for a number of years (we just bought the house a few weeks ago). I would highly recommend Pat!
Ramiro and his co-worker did a small repair on our concrete sidewalk and did extensive trimming of overgrown hedges. They were able to do the work with only a few days notice, and showed up when they said they would. They worked straight through the day, were very professional and friendly, and completed everything in one day. We thought the work looked really good when they were done, and they did a thorough job of clean up too. Not only do we recommend them to others, we look forward to calling on them ourselves again.
Branden and his colleague were wonderful. He was very courteous and polite when I initially called him. The day of service he contacted me to let me know he was available earlier than scheduled, if I wanted the work to begin sooner. They arrived, saw the space and immediately went to work. The bunk bed set we have has a twin and full bed as well as a staircase and I am ecstatic about how perfectly it was put together. He also fixed my running toilet and hung my laundry room coat racks on the wall securely. I asked them to mount something on the kids door that was not discussed and there was no issue. I loved their customer service and constant communication and wish I had more for them to do when they were at my home. I definitely would hire this company again and see why he has a 5 star rating. This company was my first thumbtack experience and I am glad I went with them. I have new handymen to do my home repairs.
Gios contractors just finished two projects at our home – a new deck and kitchen update project (new kitchen island, molding on existing cabinets). We couldn’t be more satisfied with our experience. Their professionalism, know-how, communication, and technology are second to none. They truly did go the extra mile in completing our projects, doing whatever they could to make sure we were completely satisfied. We completed a number of projects on our home improvement list this time around, but will certainly be coming back to giovanny when we’re ready for our next project.
I used thumbtack to find a local contractor for the replacement of my driveway. I met with several contractors and Mauricio Stone gave me the best price per sq ft. He met with me to go over the scope of work that i requested. I was pleased with the entire job from start to finish.
Frank and his crew did an outstanding job for us. They replaced a sidewalk from our drive way to our front steps and fixed a railing for the front steps but most importantly they gave us a new stamped concrete patio out back that is huge and beautiful. They were great to work with and very attentive. Could not be happier. Great service, work and price. Would definitely recommend F&C Enterprises, Inc. In fact we have already to friends, family and neighbors. I believe several have already called him about their projects.
Job consisted of various tasks that had not been completed for some time due to an extremely difficult work schedule. Job was in Rockville and needed a skilled professional and one with excellent people skills. Job went extremely well as David understood requirements and delivered as promised. Able to come at 8am with parts with very little notice focused on the job and got it done. Was flexible enough to make adjustments and even helped with small things that were not necessarily disclosed upfront. Will definitely use again and wholeheartedly recommend this contractor to customers who need to get things done the right way.
Umana was great, professional, timely, competitive rates, and they did a great job on my stamped concrete patio w/sidewalk. Would definitely hire them again.
I don't usually do surveys or post reviews, but in this case, I feel it is deserved. My husband and I were approaching the last week before settlement on our home when we learned that the buyer's inspector found a crack in the foundation. We panicked, as we didn't know a licensed contractor to fix it and we were under a tremendous deadline -- we were beyond stressed out. I learned that Dave Mauldin, a person that attended my church, had started his own company, Mission Home Services, and they take care of foundation cracks. I looked at it as divine intervention! I contacted him and he came over that same day. He quickly identified the root of the crack, explained the process to repair it, and calmed our concerns. He literally gave up his weekend family time to do the work so that we could settle on our home as scheduled. He is very knowledgeable about his trade. My husband and I were very confident in his work, the buyers were happy with the results, and our home settled on time. I found Dave to be honest, trustworthy, and dependable. I highly recommend Dave Mauldin and Mission Home Services.
Vladimir was immediately responsive, arrived right on time and carefully assessed the project before providing a very fair quote. I've worked with a number of contractors throughout an extensive renovation process and found Vladimir and his team to be the most professional by far. They were very considerate of my home and took care to keep areas clean while they worked, and clean up after the job was done, even as the job extended beyond painting to involve some drywall work and additional repairs. I'm already in discussion with him about new projects and look forward to hiring this very skilled contractor again. Highly recommended.
Wow what a great experience! Charlie and his team are fabulous. They had a tough move . Moving antique furniture in a city row house with 3 floors of extremely narrow stairs. Great job. Also had to move a sofa and love seat out the 2nd floor door and over the porch. How that sofa and love seat ever got up there, I have no clue but Charlie and his team was able to get the job done Thank you Charlie and team. You will definitely be hearing from me soon. Charlie definitely gave me a low quote for the job which I felt was not a realistic price for what he had to do. He did not raise his quote but I think I may have made it up to the team with a price I felt was more appropriate. You will be very happy and pleased with Charlie and his team. They do a lot more than just moves. Call them first and check out all they do! 10 stars all around.
Paul responded to my Thumbtack inquiry immediately and came to my house the next day to provide a quote. After assessing the services needed, he took advantage of a few free hours in his schedule while his crew was working other jobs and offered to do the job for me that same day. This involved not only mowing and trimming my lawn, but also weeding a very large hill on a very hot day. I very much appreciated the help on such short notice, as well as the extra time he spent explaining lawn care & yard maintenance basics to a long time apartment dweller/first time homeowner who lacks a green thumb. Would definitely recommend Paul for your lawn and landscaping needs, he's very professional and works hard to make sure his clients are satisfied.
