Nicolas Laget is nothing short of a miracle worker! I wrote and recorded a song for a charity in Charleston, South Carolina, but could not get the mix the way that I wanted it, without being there to sit by the side of the engineer. There were several attempts made to do this online, but it wasn’t working. I finally had the raw tracks sent to me and proceeded to find someone to help me finish the project. Nico answered my request on Thumbtack. I looked at his reviews and I was satisfied. Not only did Nico dub my voice over some questionable parts of the song, but he went through every single track of the song and perfected it. In the end he also created a radio version of the song which blended perfectly when he finished with it. He was very meticulous in finding the correct pitch and he made sure there were no instruments bleeding into the vocals. Nico is affordable and very prompt in getting his ideas back to you. I would certainly recommend using SweetSpot recording. Simply put…he is a professional! A family member who has worked in PR and with recording engineers throughout her professional life came with me to listen as we mixed the final versions of my song. She said she has never worked with anyone with Nico’s talented, unerring ear for recorded sound (including the wayward pitch), is as technically proficient as both a sound engineer and mixer, really listens and communicates well with the client, and is simply great to work with.

Daniel at Insight9Audio has a unique way of understanding and explaining concepts of production and sound engineering as well as the creative process itself. He has really helped me breath life into my work. No matter how unconventional my visions are, he understands them, and helps me realize them in spectacular ways.

I worked with Mr. Kenzo on the most recent recording for my band. He handled both the recording and the mixing of the project. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about our experience. Firstly, we arrived to our setting completely set up and organized. He had already set the room and had mics picked out to try, and was quick to offer instructions on how to quickly set up so as not to waste studio time. The equipment was all of a high quality, and well maintained. During the recording itself, he had our microphones set up so we could hear everyone super clearly and without any difficulty. He was happy to give us playback on anything we were not sure about. Overall the process took about 5 hours for 5 fairly difficult songs. (This time was due to band wanting to redo things, not anything on Mr. Kenzo's part) The mixing process was also better than i ever could have asked for. Mr. Kenzo was very communicative of his thought process and was very receptive to any band feedback. I've worked with engineers in the past who take things personally when you say you want to change some things in the recording. There was no such engineer ego here, as i felt that our critiques were heard and addressed swiftly. The line of communication between engineer and band during mixing is probably what i value most in an engineer and i could not have asked for better responsiveness, professional insight, and friendliness for a project that was so dear to me. You will not go wrong hiring Kenzo audio for any of your recording, mixing, or live sound needs.

Absolutely great service! When entering any session with Stevie is asking for a pleasant work environment and great quality recording. You come in knowing what your specific sound is and Stevie, in my opinion, is the only sound engineer that can figure out what that is without you having to over explaining yourself. Not only is he that but more, Stevie's services include graphic design and mentoring for artist development. When I record I have certain preferences to help me get through the recording with ease, for instance recording in the dark. As an artist sometimes it's hard to find the right producer or the right studio that will allow you to be what you are and be ok with your preferences. Stevie has an understanding of what being an artist truely is about. Because he is an artist himself I feel that his vision is clear and that it illuminates on the people around the work being produced. Overall when working with any sound engineer it is important to deseifer which ones are artists and which ones are just sound engineers. If you are an artist reading this.. find yourself a sound engineer that has the ability to evoke the emotions you want to come out through your music, an engineer who doesn't just engineer but whos on a level of understanding art. Go with Steven James Henderson!
