I strongly recommend Theo if someone is looking for a math tutor. Theo tutored my daughter during the summer. She failed Algebra and had to take the class in the summer. Theo was able to explain the concepts and teach my daughter how to solve the Algebra problems. After just 2 tutoring sessions my daughter had a better understanding of the Algebra concepts. My daughter received an 87 as her grade for Algebra 1. I strongly recommend Theo without any reservations. Theo is patient and it's a bittersweet departure hoping Theo returns back to DC.

Corinne was my IELTS tutor, she helped me to improve my score" 1 band " in less than 1 month. She is patient and careful in teaching and helpful; friendly and very kind. I am very lucky that I had my tutor with her.

About

I have extensive experience teaching students from various socioeconomic backgrounds, and always try to teach "up" to a student rather than teaching "down" to them. I started martial arts as a chubby little 7 year old, so I know what it feels like to be awkward and self-conscious.

About

If you would like to learn French or Greek from a professional who enjoys her work and is dedicated to helping her students succeed while enjoying the process of communicating in another language and learning all it takes, this is the teacher you will always remember. I always relate well to my students and make each session memorable and fun. I know my students will always remember me as a very positive educator with a very cultural approach.

I have had the privilege of working with Defense Linguistics on various contracts such as German, Arabic, Persian/Farsi, Japanese, Indonesian, Hindi, French etc etc ... off and on for the past 4 years. I believe on behalf of Marines and myself, it is an honor to write a letter of recommendation for the director of this school, Ms.Amiri. My relationship with her has been one of mutual professional respect. My role as the Command Language Program Manager has been the impetus for the relationship, but the partnership exists because of a deep level of trust and respect. We both love teaching others about new languages and have a passion of watching them grow in it. I have hared many good things about Defends Linguistics' tutors from bigger language centers such as Berlitz, DLS, DLI, Ad Astra.... Over the period of instruction D.Linguistics tutors were a vital part of the growth of our linguist Dep. here at Marine Base. During a four-year span, I had the pleasure of working with and observing the attitudes of this particular school. They are very professional and knowledgeable native speakers who love to teach. All the curriculum comes from the director, Ms.Amiri who is very organize and easy to follow. Ms. Amiri and her tutors engage the student with a sense of purpose and make everyone feel at ease. Defense Linguistics's tutors have passion for their work as well as a very strong will to win which lead many students raising their test scores at our base. D.linguistics ( former name; School of Persia,LLC) gets contracts once or twice a years here MCIA sometime between May-Oct as one to one or group session. The levels of instruction is a mix of Beginners to Advanced. I have no reservations in strongly recommending any of school's tutors, specially Ms. Amiri herself for Persian/ Farsi as a future professional partner. Please do not hesitate to contact me for any further information regarding D.Linguistics. God’s Blessings, Al T. James, II Language Program Manager MCIA

I learned so much with Sra. Matz and am grateful that she got me off to a great start with Spanish through her tutoring. I started with her having had very limited exposure to Spanish and quickly became acclimated to the language over the summer. When I started in the 7th grade at the Park School after the summer of tutoring, I was more than well-prepared and able to compete with the rest of my classmates. Sra. Matz made the tutoring sessions fun and engaging and I always looked forward to meeting with her. She helped begin to instill in me both a love and great ability for Spanish that has stuck with me.

I worked with Sylvia for two years when she was the learning specialist at the Washington International School and I was a tutor who provided supplemental instruction for students in English. I found Sylvia to be very attentive and concerned about her students both in and outside of the classroom. Sylvia regularly kept me informed about what was going on in their classes and at home so I could tailor my lessons accordingly. For example, a student I was tutoring in ESL experienced a death in the family, and Sylvia and I worked together to create a lesson that allowed the young girl to write about her family member and express her sadness. Sylvia very much had an open door policy as well, and was always encouraging students to come speak to her if they needed guidance. I would recommend Sylvia as a highly knowledgeable and supportive resource to any student.
