Lauren took care of my three cats when my family left the country. In the past I have had to rely on friends and family to watch my cats and I have always been nervous about their care while gone. She was very diligent in sending me daily updates on how they were doing including photos! She made it possible for me to leave for the first time in many years and feel great that my pets were in good hands. She visited before we were to leave on two occasions to get to know the three cats better and those visits went a long way in making me feel confident that I have hired the right pet sitter. If you have felines, do not hesitate to contact Lauren. I will definitely use her skills again in the near future!

Melissa has been my dog walker and pet sitter for almost 2 years. She always does what she says she will and comes when she says she'll come - and she always leaves some kind of little sign that she has been here (in case I had any doubts, which I don't!) As a pet sitter, you won't find anyone better - she even takes the trash out before I come home!

We were Summor's very first clients! She began house-pet sitting for us while she was still in college and ended up building this fabulous business. She now has 45 employees and still delivers the same level of service to us that she did all those years ago. Our cats are now 17 years old and they are, of course, part of our family. I would only entrust them to the most experienced, caring person and that is Summor.

Want to highly recommend Katie at Pets are Grand to be the best person to take cs re of your pets. Thus was our 1st time to use a pet sitter for our 2 older labs and 2 small dogs and was apprehensive until we met Katie! Katie took such good care of our pups that I don't think they even missed us! She is the best..will certainly be our go to girl whenever we need pet sitting again...

I cannot say enough good things about this place! Top notch pet and customer service! I needed a last minute walk which I figured was going to be impossible. Not only did they get me a quote in less than 5 minutes they had me scheduled in 10 min from when I placed the ad! Very impressive! And was very surprised after the walk I received a text and email of a report card with very cute pics of my pup. I could tell she was happy and having a good time and that was so nice to have that peace of mind. They are gps tracked, background checked, bonded and insured. They offer many services and are very good at working around your needs quickly and effectively. I really felt like they genuinely cared. The owner or manager is the first one to contact and meet with you. They pair you with the best pet sitter for your needs and availability. I will say being last minute I did not experience the official meet and greet but I did get to talk to the owner who explained all this to me. Explained she was out of town and would get with me the next day to set up a meet and greet to meet me and my pup but told me a premier pet sitter who was amazing would be walking my dog. She made me feel comfortable with this process and I was not disappointed. I am excited to find someplace I know I can trust and my pet is treated like part of their family.

We had Just Fur-Babies watch our dog and cat while we were out of town for 5 days....and we couldn't be happier with the service provided! They sent updates and photos after each visit - which was comforting. We came home to well cared for and content pets :) We already booked another date for a future trip. We recommend Just Fur-Babies to anyone who wants a reliable and professional in-home pet sitter who truly care about your pets!

Kristen and Natalie took care of my cat for two months while I was out of the country. It was the longest I'd ever been away from my cat, but Kristen and Natalie gave her so much love while I was gone! Their rate is more than reasonable and I never worried about my cat getting anything less than amazing care. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a pet-sitter!

Up to this point I have only taken care of family and friends pets and homes while they are out of town.. I love animals and thought that this would be a wonderful way to earn extra income and get to spend time with the animals that I love.

About

I train, walk or house sit animals, dogs, cats, birds, livestock, horses and small critters. I have 40 years of experience in all the animals mentioned above.

About

Whether your family is going out of town for the weekend or going on vacation for the week, there needs to be someone you can count on to look after your home and/or pets while you're gone! I can care for your animals and home as if they were my own. I believe that I am a very trustworthy person and even though I'm new to this line of work and don't have reviews, I believe once I get my foot in the door, I will make any pet owner proud to have me as their pet sitter and every home owner feeling worry-free knowing that I'm holding down the fort. I do other things as well: dog walking, house-sitting, home cleaning (which is actually where my expertise are), spring cleaning, home organizing (kids toys, office spaces, cleaning out closets, etc.), running errands or accompanying you to an appointment, etc. I just like to help with whatever I can, which is a lot!

About

As a pet sitter, your sole responsibility is to take care of the client's pets while he/she is traveling. This includes walking the dogs, feeding the animals, cleaning up any messes you (or they) have made (counter and spoons cleaned), administering medication (if needed), scooping the litter box daily, picking up the mail and paper, and doing any light watering for indoor/outdoor plants.

About

I will pet sit an animal as long as they're harmless. I can also house-sit on weekends if needed. My business is great because I'm helpful, and I'm there when you need me.

About

I've been pet sitting for 22 years so I have experience with many different breeds and ages of dogs. This is my full time job, not something I squeeze in on the side. I am home with the dogs I board most of the time. I am very flexible with pick up and drop off times so it is convenient for my clients. I have 5 star ratings on Facebook, Yelp and Google. Check them out!

About

I offer love and care with every touch. I provide exceptional cleaning and care of pets and homes. I will watch your animals while you're away, and I will clean your home/office before your guests arrive.

About

I am great with animals. I have been surrounded by cats and dogs my whole life. Both my dogs are potty trained (as well as my cat, that's a duh though). I have OCD, so picking up around the house and cleaning is something I actually look forward to! I will walk your animals at least twice in 1 day (more or less, whatever is preferred). I always feed pets with just the right portion of food that the owner requests. If they make an accident inside, I promise I will take care of it before you get back home, but I will tell you of any accident that occurs. I am the gal you are looking for! Trust me!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to hire a house sitter?

House-sitting can be a lifesaver when you’re leaving town for any length of time. Whether you work remotely, you’re taking a much-needed vacation, or you just want to road-trip for a few days, it’s wise to have a pro keep an eye on your house and pets while you’re gone. Your home is more likely to stay safe and you won’t have to wrangle the kitty into a kennel to travel with you. The national average pet-sitting price ranges between $20 and $30. Pet-sitting and house-sitting costs will vary based on where you live in the country and regional labor rates. Another factor in cost is how long you want the house-sitter to stay. Some people prefer to have the house-sitter stay the night at their house, perhaps to care for an elderly pet or simply to keep a watchful eye on the home at all times. Overnight stays will cost more, ranging anywhere from $50 to $100, depending on services provided. For day visits, house-sitting and pet-sitting prices will increase incrementally the longer the visit and the more service you want performed. For example, a quick 10-minute visit to feed and walk the pet and bring in the mail could be $12.50, a 25-minute visit could be $18, a 40-minute visit $25, and a 50-minute visit $32. How much should you pay for a pet sitter?

Pet sitting provides your precious pet with in-home care. A pet-sitter can make a brief visit during the day to provide snacks, playtime or affection, or stay at your house for one or more nights to tend to your pet. Prices for pet-sitting will vary based on length of the visit. Nationally, pet sitting prices range from $20 to $30, although prices run higher for your sitter to stay the night. Prices will also be affected by where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pet-sitting prices based on length of time and region:

  • 30-minute visit: $17 in a small Texas town.
  • 30-minute visit: $25 in Southern California.
    • 45-minute visit: $28.
    • 60-minute visit: $32.
  • Overnight stay (10 hours): $50 in Texas.
  • Overnight stay (10 hours): $85 in Southern California.
    • 12 hours: $100.
    • 24 hours: $200. This is a good option for a sick, elderly or brand-new pet that needs constant supervision.
