Lindsey is the best! I was pretty scared to do dance lessons, but she has been patient (both with my bad dance moves and my fiance's constant questioning). :)
The Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Lenexa is a wonderful place to learn to dance. The instructors are not only very professional and knowledgeable, but also a lot of fun. They make dancing really enjoyable and exhilarating. One reason is that they listen to their students and make dreams come true. You can learn a lot of different dances, from traditional ballroom dances like waltz, foxtrot, and swing, to salsa, bachata, and even line dancing! For anyone who wants to learn to dance--whether for a wedding, just for fun, or for more serious events like dance competitions (which are very exciting!)--I can highly recommend this studio.
Shari is very help full an understanding of my limited knowledge of dance. I would recommend her to anyone I know looking the learn some dance steps.
She's been helping my fiancé and I learn a choreographed dance for our wedding and it has been an amazing experience! Our dance looks like it came out of a fairy tale and she has been a great teacher. Patient, very knowledgeable, and able to explain things to help you understand. My fiancé has never danced before but she has him waltzing like a prince! Also great on pricing, she wants to make ballroom dancing available to a wider range of people. Such a fun and special experience. You should definitely give her a try! Photos from our FIRST session with her!
Abby was very professional and a great instructor. I do not like to dance at all, but was getting married in a week and reached out to Abby and she helped my fiance and I get some lessons in and made us look like we knew what we were doing on our wedding night. Thank you Abby for the miracle you helped us pull off with only 1 week. Great job!!
Josh played at our wedding reception and did an amazing job. Everyone from the guests, the wedding planner and the photographer had something positive to say. The wedding planner said this was the wedding with the most dancing she had ever seen. The photographer said this was the coolest dance party she had ever seen. Actually she said "wildest" but I think she got a little carried away there. We asked Josh to do a short dance lesson at the beginning of the reception, which turned out to be a big hit and got everyone out on the dance floor. From there, he kept the music going all night and our guests danced until it was time to leave. He played the perfect mix for us and our guests. We heard everything from great salsa hits to the YMCA song. We can't wait to renew our vows so we can have Josh DJ that reception too!
Along with having 20+ years teaching ballroom and social dance, I have completed professional studies in yoga, life coaching and relationship coaching. I use these skills to help people get the most out their lessons on and off the dance floor.
