Excellent plumber. My mom and dad hired Tozzle; great experience so I decided to hire the same plumber. But, it was fortunate we hired C+J. I recommend this Thumbtack plumber. Highly praise his skill and honest estimates that we could afford right off. He finished the job clean and quickly. Respectfully advised us as keep our drains clean. And the plumber cleaned up the mess. Thanks C+J

We had Chris do a bathroom remodel that included removing the old cast iron tub and replacing with a large walk-in shower. We have a 60 year old home so the walls weren’t level, the floor wasn’t level, and the drain had to be moved. Chris kept us well informed on the progress, and the end result is really exceptional. I’d definitely recommend them for any plumbing or remodel work!

Evan did a fantastic, highly professional job of replacing our privacy fence. He totally transformed the look of our yard with the new fence, and added a block retaining wall to take place of rocks stacked up to keep one neighbors yard from washing into ours, as it is significantly higher. He had the vision to do the fence, wall, and some ground work in such a way as to increase privacy, provide a place to plant flowers, and create proper drainage. He reused some of the flat rocks to create a walkway so we can water our flowers when it's dry, and provide that extra drainage when we have more rain then you can shake a stick at. And mom can still enjoy some of "her rocks" this way. The drainage work performed to a tee as we since had 5" of rain in a short amount of time, and all that water moved away. He also replaced the concrete footings on our 30+ year old carport, as the carport is still in pretty good shape considering its age. He does excellent work and we've received nothing but compliments from everyone. I highly recommend Evan and aWARDable Maintenance.

My two story house built in the 1920s has many "charming" old windows that are somewhat inaccessible and difficult to clean. Moto did an amazing job cleaning them (and the storm windows and the screens) with speed, positivity, and attention to detail. His work ethic is outstanding. Would/will hire him again. -Dr. JP

I was pleased with the job Todd Weber of Tozzies Drain cleaning did in replacing a collapsed sewer drain for my rental house. He was fast, got all the permits needed and was $800 cheaper then a quote from Reddi Root'r. He got his part done in one day and got the drain connected that night so that the tenants could use the bathroom. The city came the next morning to connect it to the city line and then he filled in the trench and reconnected my chain-link fence.

This has been one of the best contractors I have ever dealt with. Fast work and detailed attention to the job. Left my basement cleaner than before their work.

Hahn Plumbing & Drain Cleaning is definitely the best plumbing company experience that I have ever had! He was extremely helpful in explaining the problem and all budget options for solving it in ways that a non-plumber could grasp. His punctuality, speed, and high quality service make him my go-to plumbing expert for my rental property and my home.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What are plumbers and what do they do?

Plumbers are skilled professionals who are trained to install and maintain pipes and systems for drinking water, sewage and drainage. They usually have trained through four- to five-year training programs, which include apprenticeships, via trade schools and community colleges. Plumbers’ areas of expertise typically go beyond pipes to include mathematics, blueprint reading, plumbing codes and water distribution. They handle plumbing emergencies, such as broken pipes or clogged drains, and install and maintain everything from a new piping system to a replacement faucet. Plumbers also know how to install bathtubs and showers, toilets, water heaters and dishwashers. Plumbers may work on residential or commercial sites, sometimes designing and laying out a pipe system during construction.

How do you find a good plumber?

Whether you need a plumber to perform drain repair, install a new fixture, or replace rusty pipes, you need to make sure you hire someone reliable who will finish your job on time and within budget. Start by asking the plumbers on your short list these questions:

  • What is the total cost? Make sure your estimate includes materials and labor. Find out whether the plumber will be providing the materials and whether you’re being charged an hourly rate (which is variable) or a flat fee.
  • Is removal and cleanup included in the job? Some plumbers leave behind old parts, while others include the cleanup in the cost.
  • Is the work guaranteed? Find out whether the work (as well as the parts or fixtures) are guaranteed under a warranty.
