My academic concentration is Black Studies. For three years as a college professor at Tri-C Community College Adult education I have been teaching the Underground Railroad and the Slave Bible. Up-coming courses will cover the topics of local Black History in northeast, Ohio and Black inventors. Students will have the luxury of receiving historical accounts unattainable in the traditional school setting. Materials used are rare historical reference books, historical manuscripts, letters, diaries, and newsletters extracted and organized from local historical archives. This is not just a course to memorize dates and historical events. Students will obtain critical thinking and analytical skills necessary for character development and discernment. This course is ideal for students entering the fields of community engagement, social work, education, archeology, journalism, and law.See more
