David was very easy to get in touch with, and he came over to make a very appropriate price proposal very quickly. He saved my house's curb appeal! I know nothing about gardening, and he suggested great items with very low maintenance. He and his crew even worked through the rain to get the projects done quickly and efficiently.

My garden needed a complete overhaul. New mulch, fresh flowers, shrubs trimmed, weeding, and a general cleanup of my garden to get ready for summer entertaining. Parker from Louisiana Land Art came out and gave me a quote, and after comparing with 2 other companies I chose them to do the job. He was very clean cut and professional and very personable. The job took 1 day and he surprised me with a free power wash of my driveway! I will definitely use his services again as he was very thorough and I truly appreciated them cleaning up after themselves.

Thank you Mr Gary for working with our organization to redo the garden at our main office. Fat Boys was more than willing to work with in our budget and create a beautiful garden and dramatically improved the appearance of the front of our building. We were skeptical at first because other companies said the garden we needed to fix was going to be way out of what we could afford. Mr Gary at Fat Boys created a full looking garden on time and on budget. We Highly recommend his services

Excellent, professional lawn care - they show up when they are supposed to and leave everything clean and edged. They also did my backyard deck and I was impressed with the care they took to make sure the foundation was solid and they also fixed my gates on both sides of my wooden fence so they open and close properly now! Overall great work, would definitely recommend this company.

Scottie came to my aid, on short notice. My previous lawn care provider stopped coming, and the lawn was up to my knees. She was here the next day. Right on time, and she did an excellent job. I have hired her to continue to care for my lawn. I would highly recommend her. She is reliable and does good work!

BLUF: My expectations were met, the job was completed on time and under budget! They under promised and over delivered. The work they performed was top notch. The dialogue prior to starting the job, the concepts, and attention to detail were exceptional. The crew that performed the work; arrived at their appointed time and place as expected. They were hard workers, polite, knowledgable, and excellent ambassadors for Emerald Gardens. James Cannon, the supervisor/designer/sales/procurement manager and any other additional hats he may wear was unflappable, he rolled with every hiccup and he is a man of outstanding character. Great respect for him as a leader and a his positive demeanor throughout the project. The promise after the sale he discussed with me was not window dressing but a honest and earnest promise to ensure customer satisfaction. Despite the relative low cost of this project compared to others they have completed, James made sure I was satisfied and his men were performed work that was equal to or exceeded the Emerald Gardens standard of excellence. All my future needs will be handled by Emerald Gardens and I would recommend them whenever possible.

I clean wood and tiled floors as well as windows and tabletop surfaces. I also remove junk or stuff that isn't wanted anymore. I help rearrange furniture. As for my outdoor works, I pull weeds and water plants. I really enjoy caring for gardens. I will also rearrange pots and plants as well. I'm open to other things; just contact me, and I will be able to tell you if I can help you.

I love to cook. Playing with different flavors has always appealed. Mainly some Asian influences. I have also worked in the food industry for over twenty years & taken cooking lessons in Thai food. Again, it's the alchemy and freshness of home-cooked food. I like to use fresh herbs and make my own pestos.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to have landscaping done?

Professional landscaping can help reinvent your outdoor space, boost your curb appeal and get a major return on investment with. Landscaping can encompass anything from adding new plants, trees and shrubs, to leveling the ground and laying sod for a lawn, to building in hardscaping such as sidewalks, water features or retaining walls. The national average landscaping price is $10,160. Landscaping prices can be far lower (with hourly rates ranging from $50 to $150) if you’re only seeking professional help with softscaping or seeking consultation on landscape design. Softscaping means adding or changing horticultural elements, such as planting a garden or adding a hedge. Hardscaping is where costs can really start to rise. Hardscaping requires labor and heavy equipment to excavate the earth; you may need to pour concrete, or you may need a pro who can transport and place gravel and other inorganic elements. Your total landscaping cost will vary based on the amount of work you want done, how much labor is required, and the cost of the materials you are using. A good rule of thumb for a major landscaping project, according to the American Society of Landscape Architects, is to budget 5 percent to 10 percent of the value of your home.

How much does it cost to landscape your front yard?

Prices for landscaping your front yard can range from a few hundred dollars to tens of thousands of dollars, depending on the scale of your front yard project. Your landscaping price will reflect how much change you implement, how much labor is required, and the cost of materials.

Landscaping is typically made up of softscaping and hardscaping. Softscaping refers to selecting trees, bushes, flowers and plants to achieve a desired aesthetic and to meet goals such as having a drought-tolerant yard. Hardscaping refers to moving earth, installing structures, and putting in decorative stonework, sidewalks or lighting. For softscaping, you may want to hire a landscape designer to consult on your plants and layout, and then do the digging and planting yourself or hire a gardner to handle the heavy lifting. A landscape designer’s hourly rate may range from $50 to $150 or more. If you want a turnkey approach, meaning someone who works with you to create the vision and then executes all the work, landscaping pricing will typically come down to a cost per square foot rather than an hourly rate. It’s a solid investment: Great landscaping can add up to 28 percent value to your home.
