Coyote taught my son for 2 years during middle school. He managed to hook him on guitar for life, build some very fine technique and score reading, and pay close attention to the kids' musical tastes, so the hard work they did paid off in real pleasure and great performances in front of their friends. He really contributed to my son's education and self-esteem!Sep 15, 2016
Coyote Anderson is an outstanding guitar teacher., professionally gifted, most helpful, patient and very personable. We were very pleased with Mr. Anderson. My son learned a lot since Mr. Anderson started teaching at his elementary school. He taught my son from the time he was 5 to 7 years old and we only stopped because unfortunately for us, he's moving away. He was able to inspire my son and help him make steady progress week after week. My son enjoyed the learning process and I enjoyed seeing my son enjoy his music lessons. Simply put - Coyote Anderson is an amazing music teacher. He's the best to learn from. I wish him the best, he will be sadly missed and hard to replace. A very greatful dad, Manuel ChavesSep 15, 2016

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Generally I charge $60 per lesson in the student's home or $50 per lesson in my studio located in St. Roch. Lessons are scheduled to be an hour long but are very relaxed time-wise to allow for follow-up questions and exploration. Also, timing can be adjusted for the needs of the students (younger children sometimes work better with 30-45min lessons).
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I make sure to first take note of a new student's musical tastes and personal musical goals. Then in the first lesson I evaluate what technical or theoretical hurdles are keeping the student from their goal, then use carefully chosen songs in their favorite genres to work specifically on those skills. The best way to get people to practice is if you give them something that makes it hard to put instrument down!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?CUNY-CCNY/Macaulay Honors College (2007-2011) Graduated Summa Cum Laude (GPA of 3.86) with a BFA in Jazz Performance including 18 credits of Education classes. BMI Jazz Composer’s Workshop (2012-2015) Accepted into exclusive program that works on composition/ arranging for Big-Band with leader in the field Jim McNeely (Pianist/Composer in Residence of The Vanguard Jazz Orchestra). Escuela Carmen de las Cuevas!! (Summer 2009) Used scholarship stipend to study flamenco in Granada, Spain. In addition I taught private and group classes throughout New York City for 5 years and even went into several public schools to create and build after-school guitar programs using my own curriculum.
