MOVE IT! by bike simply charges $60/hour/mover. There are no other charges. Using large trailers pulled by bicycles gives MOVE IT! by bike advantages that trucks do not have: -We do not usually have a parking problem because we can usually load and unload on the sidewalk. -Our trailers can be easily unhitched from the bicycle and used as a cart. Sometimes we can move right up to your door. -Our overhead is low, so much of your bill goes to our growth and not to: rent (we do not need much space for our equipment), gasoline ⛽️ (we do not use any), maintenance (bicycle repair costs a lot less) and bicycles and trailers are a lot less expensive than trucks. MOVE IT! by bike has moved pianos, refrigerators, washers and dryers, beds and mattresses, couches, art, book collections, record collections and entire apartments. We have moved just around the corner and several miles. What we can also do furniture assembly, loading and unloading services and furniture relocation within the same building. We strive for happy customers. A happy customer means we did the job well at a fair price.

Move was on May 7th 2025: I’m thankful to God for the break in storms that allowed my son’s move to proceed without a hitch! Tim arrived on time (actually a few minutes early!) and was ready to get to work. In his response to my initial request, he actually had the foresight to ask if I had links to the furniture I wanted assembled so that he could be prepared with requisite tools - and prepared he was. He was pleasant, finished in a timely manner, and even helped to clear boxes and packaging for us. I would [will] request his support for any future help, and have, as well, already referred him to someone else.

How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was moving from the French Quarter and did not own a car. I got around on a bicycle so decided to move using my bike. I found a large trailer made by Bikes At Work and ordered one. My intention was to use the trailer then store it to use if I needed to move again. During my move many people asked about what I was doing and wanted my number so I could help them move sometime. Sensing a demand I started MOVE IT! by bike.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
We moved a client out of the French Quarter to the CBD. Her old place was on the second floor down twisting narrow stairs. Her new place was on the fourth floor up some long steps but no elevator. We had to lower a couch over the balcony to get it out. Six movers were employed for this job. Two at the moving out location to pack and move things out to the street and help load the trailers. Two to pull the trailers with a bicycle from the moving out location to the moving in location and then back to do it again. And two to help unload the trailers and bring everything up to the moving in place. MOVE IT! by bike completed this job in less time than predicted and under budget.
