Introduction: Chris Jacob has been photographing the candid world since the age of fifteen, instinctively drawn to the camera and its ability to frame life, to render the fleeting moments of movement and light. His work is informed by an experienced background in cultural anthropology. Chris has been integrating the methods and principles of fieldwork into the documentation and representation of people, performance and place in regions all around the world. His undeniable eye in his still and film work demonstrates a true creative vision and a remarkable ability to adapt and produce intelligently designed and conceptualized visual products. Photographing is not a taking to Chris. It is rather collaboration between the self and the subject. Chris feels a deep sense of commitment to an active participation in driving popular culture forward in an intellectually and aesthetically sound manner. It is in this union, between the elements of anthropology and the flamboyance of popular culture, that his work exists.
