Absolutely highly recommend! We were referred to Cady Falls through a neighbor and to date we have brought three dogs there, as well as have since referred an additional friend. Although our dogs are not bird dogs, we've called a great dane, a small terrier mix, and a shar pei mix family, the positive behavioral adjustments we experienced were wonderful. Our biggest challenges going in were the 'come', now referred to as 'here' command as well as 'stay'. We now have piece of mind bringing the doggies out with us, now no longer fearing that they may become distracted and not listen therefore putting themselves into dangerous situations. I have to admit we had great dogs to start with, however the fact that they now obey us but still have their funny personalities is priceless. We always received quick updates, even when we probably overly checked in, and overall can't say thank you enough!

I was nervous about leaving my cat alone for the very first time but felt much more comfortable after meeting with Glen. He is definitely an animal person and "got" my apprehension. Since I was not home and gave them a time window for visits, I cannot speak to punctuality, but I just got home from my trip and all appears to have gone well. It only took my cat half an hour to get over her mad for being left alone. Thank you to BVDWLLC

We are half way through our 6 week training of our puppy, and so far it has been amazingly successful! Our little Penelope is learning so quickly. Kristin really cares about the animals, and making sure you understand how to communicate the lessons to your pets on your own as well.

Jess is incredibly professional and courteous. She has a clear affinity for working with animals, and my dogs love her- one of whom is quite skittish and slow to come around. She is quick to respond and takes the time each day she walks the dogs to let me know how things went. I would recommend her to anyone needing a knowledgeable and trustworthy person to take care of their pets!

Audrey cared for our three cats while we were away for a week and did an amazing job! She took great care of them, gave us lots of updates and took the time to do extra things like bring out our bins on garbage day and wash out their bowls regularly. She does so much for such a reasonable price! What a great value! She is a true animal lover and so kind and trustworthy, we felt very comfortable with her in the house while we were away. We are very picky about our pets care and get very anxious leaving them alone, but Audrey took great care of them and we will definitely hire her again! Outstanding!!

Bridlewood is the only boarding place we have entrusted with our beloved canine family members. The services, care and facilities are unsurpassed. Dale Cuddy and her staff are genuinely caring, compassionate and most knowledgeable and talented (great grooming!). It’s evident that our dogs enjoy their time at Bridlewood – happy to see us upon our return, but always excited and eager to leave home for another stay at Camp Bridlewood!

Amazing!! I couldn't be happier with the training my two shepherds recieved. They are wonderful off leash, I can bring them anywhere! I get compliments on how well they are trained all the time. If you want high quality training of your dog you've found the perfect place. I would and will take all my future dogs here. Titan (17 months when trained) and Layla (7 months when trained) are still well behaved and listen. Yet act like dogs, they still have their own personalities, that was no broken from them in training as some other trainers have done.

We are so happy that we found Erica for dog walking services through Thumbtack. She was very quick to get back to us and even came over to meet us in person. She is very knowledgeable about animals as she used to be a vet assistance and she is extremely professional. She is very flexible to work with your needs and she is happy to adjust times and visits per your pet needs. Her prices are great too for the quality service you get! We feel very at ease knowing she is taking goof care of our puppy when we are at work.

She is amazing with the animals! She taught my dog (and me) most of the basic commands in just 45 mins with great results! She spent a good 2 hrs. Talking about ways I can help my dog (new rescue), and how she is willing to help me. I could not have found a better, more personable trainer than Kim.

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does boarding a horse cost?

Finding the right horse boarding location is a big step in a horse owner’s life. This will be the place your horse will live and where you will visit multiple times per week or even daily. The cost of horse boarding will depend on the level of service you desire, the location of the stables, and the luxury level of the property. Here are some examples of average horse boarding costs:

      • Overnight stabling: $30 per horse per night.
      • Partial boarding (owner feeds and mucks): $220 per horse per month, with a three-month commitment.
        • Administration of oral medication: $10 per dose.
        • Bandaging: $20 per event, plus cost of materials.
        • Trailering to vet if owner is unable: $25, plus $25 per hour to wait with horse.
      • Basic full boarding: $325-$350 per month per horse. Includes twice daily hay and daily stall cleaning.
        • Horse training: $20 per session.
        • Pasture turn out: $20 per session.
        • Blanketing: $1 per day/$30 per month.
        • Vet or farrier hold: $20. This means haltering the horse and standing with it as it receives treatment or shoeing.

Where can I board my horse?

You can board your horse at any barn or stable that provides horse boarding services. To find horse boarding near you, read reviews of area locations and speak with equestrian friends to find one with a solid reputation. Ideally, the location will be within a reasonable drive from your home or office. This is especially important if you are paying for partial boarding services and are responsible for feeding your horse and cleaning its stall each day. You may choose your boarding barn or stables based on the services they provide. Some offer more extensive amenities — at an added price — that reduce the amount of work you need to do to keep your horse comfortable. Consider whether you want training, blanketing, exercise and other perks in addition to standard offerings like hay and stable mucking. Your stable may have temperament requirements and proof that your horse has the proper vaccinations required by your state. This protects both your horse and the other horses in the stable. Many states require that locations offering horse boarding services have stable licenses that are renewed each year. Always be sure to enter into a clearly written boarding contract that will cover your horse and belongings in case of accident, and remember our tips for smart hiring.

      What is horse boarding?

Horse boarding is like rental housing for your horse. Horse boarding is helpful for people who don’t have the space or the resources to install and maintain a stable on their property. A horse can be housed in a barn with other horses and receive the care they need. Owners can visit their horse for riding, grooming, training, etc. Horse boarding services may vary based on the company and the price. Some horse boarders may offer short-term boarding of 24 hours to several nights for people passing through an area, while most offer boarding by the month for horses whose owners live in the area. There is partial- and full-service boarding, which indicates how much of the work of feeding the horse and cleaning the stall is the responsibility of the owner rather than the boarding barn. For an added fee, horse boarding can also include grooming services, riding and training, medication administration, and more.

To find the right boarding fit for you and your horse, make a list of your top priorities. These might include immediate access to riding trails, round-the-clock supervision, or a nearby or affiliated veterinarian. Always visit the site to learn exactly where your horse will be kept and whether the barn and grounds are in good condition. Read reviews, and always practice smart hiring. It’s also critical to sign the proper legal documents that protect both you and your horse, such as boarding agreements. Above all, make sure it seems like a place your horse will be comfortable between your visits.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
