Starting with an abstract level of a concept, I get to understanding what the client/student already understands, and then link the concept with what the client/student knows in order to allow them to make a concrete connection in their mind that sticks in memory.
Seeing people learn and become more aware from their errors: there is nothing more rewarding than that. Even if I had all the money I ever wanted, I'd still find that helping people and meeting them where they are with whatever skills I have is the real reward in life.

Jimmy is a fantastic tutor. He informed himself about the Australian Curriculum and was prepared for my year 5 and year 11 kids from the first day on. He explained the tasks thoroughly and always had examples referencing to music. This created an easy tool for my musician son to understand math and enjoy the teaching. Thanks to Jimmy both kids are up-to-date with their math school work after 8 weeks out of school. Jimmy is kind but also focused on the outcome. Great experience

Super great guy very accommodating and prices are very good. It had been ten years since I took a class and I started my mba so I needed help bad. Jimmy was amazing I am still working w him and hope to for the rest of my program really nice guy puts things in terms easy to ununderstannot one of those tutors that makes you feel stupid. I highly recommend using him

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
All transportation fees are included in my rates.
Most tutors have a late cancellation policy, but I'd rather forego having such a policy and just say that I would be very appreciative of having at least 36-hours of advance notice of a cancellation.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first session usually consists of getting to know the student, his/her strengths/weakness, and then making an evaluation to the parent of what the next logical steps could be in order to help improve the student's skills and habits.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
While attending Boston Latin School, I functioned as a tutor for younger students in my final years in the afterschool program.
I hold a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Boston University so the maths and sciences are my strongest areas.
I was also trained as a tutor for middle school and high school working in programs such as the MATCH Charter School MCAS tutoring program (1 year), the BU Upward Bound program (3 years), and for the Nativity Preparatory Middle School (1 year) throughout my college years and just after.
