FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was working for a property management company for over four years. While I enjoyed my job, it wasn't what I loved. I knew that I really did like helping people and wanted to apply that further. I was looking to become my own boss and figured what better way to use my skills and do what I love - I'll become a virtual assistant! I wanted a rewarding job and think I have found my dream job. There is no greater reward other than having a customer tell you how much easier you've made their life!
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I would definitely suggest to get references and get to know the person. There are SO many options for virtual assistants now a days, it's hard to know who will be a good fit and who's just out for your money. Check out their website, is their content written well and spelled correctly? They may not always have a portfolio of work to show you, as much of our work is done confidentially, but if they are a reputable company, they should have references you can speak with.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
A lot of customers may think that virtual assistants are lazy, uneducated people who could not otherwise be employed at a regular job. That could not be further from the truth! It takes a very intelligent, organized and self motivated individual to be a virtual assistant. I am a college educated individual and was employed with a property management company for over four years before I finally decided to start my own company.
