FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge an hourly rate for on-site professional organizing services. Included in my current rate is research, donation drop-off (clothing only), and e-mail support in between scheduled sessions.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Each potential client relationship begins with a 30-minute phone consultation. In the conversation I can get a better understanding of the client's project (s), overall goals, and timeline. This is a chance for me to get to know them, and for them to get to know me. Hiring a professional organizer to come into your space and help you sort through personal items requires a high level of trust and comfort. For that reason, I feel that the 30-minute consultation is very important to me and to the potential client. During the conversation I ask a series of questions to understand at what stage of the organizing process the potential client finds himself or herself. I offer organizing approaches, assist with prioritization and provide resources and tips that they can put into practice immediately! Once the client decides to schedule one or more on-site organizing sessions - and prior to the first session- I ask that they review and sign a service agreement. Next we identify and review goals of the first session, and begin! The client is required to be present during the initial organizing session. The client and I work side-by-side; I help him or her divide each space or project into segments, and I manage a step-by-step process to complete the work most effectively. At the close of the first organizing session, we evaluate and we determine next steps. At that time I can better estimate how many additional sessions it will take to complete a particular segment of the project. Organizing sessions are typically scheduled in 3-hour blocks of time.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My formal education includes a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Management Information Systems. Additional education took the form of on-the-job training serving on both small and large technology projects at many well-known, Boston-based, public and private organizations. I'm a Certified Evernote Consultant and a Certified Scrum Master. How does this relate to professional organizing? My inclination toward organization, planning, and smart, clean design, and an interest in process flow, software systems, and user experience served me well in roles as a logistics analyst, business systems analyst and project coordinator. I transfer those skills and prior experience to help individual clients implement physical and digital organizing solutions. Im a life-long learner and enjoy integrating and applying new knowledge whenever I can. My on-going education includes courses offered by the National Association of Productivity and Organizing Professionals (NAPO). I most recently completed a course on ethics, am working toward a professional organizer certification and regularly attend NAPO association meetings. Additionally, I'm enrolled in a wellness certification program. As my company name indicates, I believe there is a connection between organization, productivity, technology, and well-being (physical, mental, spiritual and financial). The more I learn about each of these areas, the more value I can bring to my clients and help them make lasting, sustainable changes in their lives.
