I’m Billy Gawron, and I help busy people create sustainable, healthy lifestyles through mindset change, habit creation, and accountability. Here's my question for you.... What made you look for a trainer? If you're looking to get toned up for a wedding next month, or shed some weight fast before beach season, that's great! However, my team and I are not going to be the right trainers for you. There are plenty of great trainers out there that can help you lose 5 lbs fast. Our program is different. We work with people who are looking for long term change. Not just to look good, but to feel good. To be able to hike with friends, play with their kids, or just wake up feeling like they did in their 20s every day! So many people dive right into a workout program, put a ton of effort into it, and are perfect for a week.... ....and then start to fall off. Lose a little bit of motivation. Get stuck..... ....and then end up back at square one. Our clients are different. Our clients hit daily, achievable goals. Our clients do their workouts, because we make them fun, and fit into their schedules. Our clients eat healthy, but also enjoy themselves. Our clients will miss a day, but never two in a row. This is because this program is not a "pay for an hour, here's a few exercises to do at home, see you next week" trainer. We hold our clients accountable, daily. We give them programs to follow, through my custom app, and are constantly changing them as needed. We work with clients to answer questions and set achievable, scalable eating habits that they actually enjoy. And, most importantly, we are always there to get those clients back on track as soon as they start to fall off. Billy is a fantastic personal trainer. He has an impressive background with a very diverse clientele, which shows his comfortability, competency, and versatility in all different levels. He is laid-back, personable, knowledgeable, and it is clear that he has our best interests in mind - he talks to me like a real person, not a customer. He is always on-time and I never feel rushed in my work-outs (even though I’m late half the time..). Billy tailor-fits and personalizes programs to suit my needs and goals, whether it is my long term goal of body transformation, or just wanting to add more core work-outs for that particular day, for example. He is able to constitute exercises as we go, and always changes it up, which keep the sessions fun and challenging. I appreciate how he focuses on proper dieting aspects as well. Lastly, Billy is very in-depth and precise in communicating what I am doing and why. He educates you on exercise selection and order, proper form, what muscles are being targeted, etc. to maximize results, which some personal trainers don’t do. Because of this, he has instilled enough confidence in me needed to perform the exercises on my own. With a decent amount of options here on Thumbtack, I am very happy with my choice with New School Fitness and highly recommend Billy. I feel more energetic, fit, and overall healthier and happier. :)

Billy is a great personal trainer, very efficient and patient. I’ve only been working with him for a few weeks now but he has motivated me and helped me in so many ways. Not only does he he work with you while your with him but he also gives you great advice and workout/eating tips for the days I’m not working out with him. All around great guy who knows what’s he doing. Looking forward to continue working with him and reaching my goals.

I started training with Billy in Jan 2017. I interviewed other trainers at the time but never found a good fit. Upon meeting Billy for the first time, I was immediately impressed with his knowledge and experience about nutrition, strength training, anatomy, and overall fitness. He is an excellent listener and employs routines and strategies that support his client's goals / needs. Little did I know that I would reach my goal weight (additional 30 lb loss), succeed in strength training taking me to new personal records that I never dreamed of (deadlifts, etc...), firm up body and run my very first 5K within 6-7 months of starting to work with Billy. I have had a few injuries (shoulder, back) from extracurricular sports that have required physical therapy. Billy understands PT's approach, is happy to communicate & build plans with them, and then modifies our routine to support PT objectives while continuing to stay on a path supporting strength training and overall fitness. I plan to continue working with New School Fitness / Billy on a regular basis (training for "Tough Mudder" or possibly "Spartan" - can't believe it - so amazing). After such a successful, and fun, first year training with Billy, I am happy to highly recommend "New School Fitness".

Billy's been an incredible trainer and I couldn't recommend him more. Always taken fitness seriously, but was coming off a longer-term health condition and was hoping to use a trainer to kick start my fitness plans and design workout plans for me during quarantine. I did a lot of research, and Billy stood out for his knowledge, tailored approach and affordability. Been with Billy close to 6 months now, and best investment I've put in myself in awhile, and have actively referred him to friends. Billy tailored great workout plans tailored to my changing fitness goals, worked around me moving around the country and having different equipment available at each place, and has been an awesome resource for nutrition, workouts and is all-around great guy. 5 stars!!

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    Our training should not be seen as a pay-per-hour, see you next week type of service, but instead a team of health professionals giving you a fully involved program, with daily check ins, a custom app to track workouts, habits, steps, sleep, nutrition, and more, along with virtual zoom calls with both your trainer and your registered dietitian. My program's pricing can be seen in my featured pictures, and the cost is $75 per week for once weekly, 30 minute virtual check ins, or $125 per week for twice weekly virtual check ins or one in person session per week.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    We always start with a 20-30 minute phone call just to allow us to get to know each other. If we seem like we might be a good fit together, we can set up a free virtual consult, where we will go over your goals more in depth, run through mobility and strength tests to check for underlying problems, and discuss in depth how my program would work for you.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    I studied Kinesiology and Psychology at UMass Amherst, where I first fell in love with personal training. As a former cross country and distance runner who then turned to the weight room in college, I experienced first hand the overwhelming mental and emotional changes that a health transformation can bring. Ever since then, I've been dedicated to helping others find that same change.
