Based off of the research presented in Donna Tileston's 10 Best Teaching Practices, the Gold Test Prep Method is designed specifically to engage the student in auditory, visual, and emotional facets to enhance the assimilation of new information.
In a nutshell the Gold Test Prep Method:
1. Sets a strict goal of completion of 2 practice exams per week. Volume of questions completed is a predictor of success on actual exam.
2. Focuses on small question sets of 10 problems. Assimilation of material is easier in small doses, and continual repetition encourages comfort with test-taking.
3. Reviews missed or skipped problems at least twice to solidify new vocabulary or concepts before applying new material to new problems.
4. Augments reading comprehension with reading of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, an English literature classic, that in addition to vocabulary, is the example work of drawing inference from context.
