Introduction: I have been teaching singing since 2012 in Hong Kong at several established institutions. I got my Masters in Music in Vocal Performance (Academic Honors) from NEC last year and my Bachelor of Arts at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (First Class Honors). I teach a variety of musical genres: classical, musical, and pop. I love helping my students discover their authentic voice and express themselves in singing. I greatly value the professionalism, poise, patience, and care extended to my 4 year old daughter by Miss Jeanette during her voice lessons. She really looks forward to class days. Miss Jeanette does a fine job of incorporating fun and play into learning which keeps her engaged. I am ever so grateful to have found her. Her extensive background and credentials in music are impressive on paper and reflects in her teaching as well.

Ms. Lee was incredibly professional. In just a 45 minute session, I feel like I learned so much about my voice and how important techniques and even stretching can affect your voice! She’s very accommodating and always explains things very clearly! She’s also very patient, and willing to answer any questions you may have about your lesson! 10/10 recommend!!

My daughter has been talking weekly voice lessons with Jeanette for almost a year, and we couldn’t be happier with our choice for a teacher. My daughter needed to start learning technique in order to get to the next level with her singing, and I was impressed by Jeanette’s resume and classical training. I'll definitely be taking more classes with Jeannette, and recommend her to singers of all skill levels. I myself sang in a choir/acapella group for 10+ years, and am currently part of a band, but I think there's always room for improvement and Jeannette surely helped! :) Highlights: (1) She made me feel very comfortable as a new student. She asked me to prepare 2 songs I liked to sing, and she would help me improve on those. She also set expectations for the first class. She also told me that cracking when singing higher notes was perfectly fine and is actually encouraged as a student. (2) She is friendly, encouraging and interactive. She sought my feedback regularly, listened to my grievances, broke bad news to me gently (I never realized I sometimes went a little flat), and was not forceful. She also responds quickly to messages and is easy to work with. (3) She is intentional with helping her students learn. After class, she sent me a list of take-aways from class! (4) She has a well-trained and discerning ear. During class, I was amazed by how well she picked up on my changes in tone quality(?)/going slightly out of tune even over Zoom!! (5) Her instructions are methodical and grounded in theory. She explained the techniques from a physiological perspective which was very helpful and encouraging as it was determined by genes! I think getting techniques right is the first step. Emoting comes later and I haven't reached that yet. (6) She clearly has been teaching for a long time. She was able to identify issues and suggest techniques specifically addressing and correcting my misusing of the voice. (7) Bang for the buck! She charges very reasonably and I paid my tuition fee happily. I felt we spent a good amount of time actually singing, experimenting with my voice, instead of going on and on about theories. Thanks Jeannette!
