As a custom Builder in Newton, Brookline, & Wellesley, having an electrician that understands the value of flexibility, punctuality, and execution, is of the utmost importance to my schedule and my clients' ever changing high demands. Nelson continually goes above and beyond in every facet of customer service and installation, and is one of the great cogs in a wheel of tremendous tradesmen I employ. My only concern with NW Vaughn Electric is that the secret of his great workmanship will become public knowledge shortly and I will have to eventually wait for his services on my next custom home. FAQs

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Never! Never! Never! hire a contractor until you have gotten a second opinion. Always check references. whether your hiring an electrician, plumber, carpenter, or painter we all need a license or home improvement contractor license. Check with the state and make sure your contractor has a valid license. Make sure your contractor is properly insured, ( get an agent phone number to check ) and finally Never sign any permit application, it is not necessary. All you will be signing is an insurance waiver, which means your contractor is either not licensed or uninsured. Protect yourself, your home, your family, call a licensed , insured professional.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Electricity is NOT a hobby. it is very dangerous. Serious injury or DEATH an occur if work is not done properly. Many contractors, framers, plumbers, and yes HANDYMEN claim to know electricity. Please do not put your family's safety in to the hand of those not properly trained in electrical work. As an electrician we must continually attend continuing education classes, learning the new code changes and changes to state law. these codes and laws include such laws as Nichole's Law. The proper use and placement of Carbon Monoxide Detectors. The new law requiring the use of CAFCI Breakers and Tamper resistant receptacles. We are always learning and finding ways to make electricity safe.
