I am a scientist who loves singing. I found Bulent Guneralp three years ago after moving to Boston for my PhD and searching for singing teachers online. His website detailing his experience and all the positive reviews made me consider him, and I am really happy that I did so. Mr. Guneralp is a unique teacher and human being. He is multi-talented yet very down-to-earth, he is very encouraging yet expects the best from you, constantly improves himself and his teaching methods, and is overall fun to work with. He doesn't only teach but also performs, so he knows what it is like to perform live and the expectations of stage life. I first started taking voice lessons 10 years ago, continued on and off, but did not perform in public until studying with Mr. Guneralp, who helped me overcome my stage fright and sing solo in a concert for the first time in 2016! His scientific teaching method which also uses certain visualizations helped me better understand and use my body as a vocal instrument. I believe not only my technical progress but my overall development as a singer gave me the confidence to sing for the first time in public. We have been working on arias and art songs in Italian, German, French, English and Turkish! My diction in these different languages has improved. I also learned a great deal of sight-singing, music theory and ear-training, areas in which I was not educated in the past. Recently I moved to Maryland, yet continue taking lessons from him remotely via Skype / FaceTime. I strongly recommend Mr. Guneralp to anyone, professional or amateur, interested in developing their vocal and musical skills.
Otis has a great understanding of music and the learning process and would be great for all ages and style of play
When I set up my first guitar lesson with Nick I wasn't sure what to expect and was really nervous to be learning something so unfamiliar. I quickly found out that I had chosen an extremely patient, understanding and encouraging music teacher. Not only does Nick have the knowledge to back up his music experience but he also has fun ways to help you remember small lessons along the way. In a few short weeks I have built both confidence and passion to play the guitar and have completely shocked myself with how far along I have come. I truly believe Nick can help any dedicated aspiring musician no matter what level of experience they have.
I had my 1st lesson with Andy last week. I learned more about music and the guitar in that one lesson than I had in years with other teachers. He truly seems to have a gift for teaching music and I'm looking forward to working with him more.
Jaime is the best guitar teacher ever. He's very patient and had all the knowledge to point me in the right direction to take my guitar playing to another level. His passion for music inspired me a lot!! Thx so much Jaime!
I am a new student of Dor Herskovits. My experience so far has been excellent. He has gone out of his way to try to accommodate my schedule, and meet me after work. He is very knowledgable and eager to share his knowledge. His lessons consist of theory, technique, rudiments and also getting down and playing the drums! The lesson is very well balanced. I am a Music teacher myself in the NYC public school system, so I am pretty good at recognizing someone will talent, who knows his stuff, and is a good teacher. Dor has it all and really seems to care! I highly recommend Dor Herskovits.
I would highly recommend Brad as a guitar teacher. He has experience teaching students at a range of skill levels and takes time to understand a player's specific musical interests. He has a flexible approach, offering lessons over Skype and making himself available for questions in between lessons. I will keep working with Brad in the future and any other guitar players in his area should do the same.
Ms. Testa has been teaching my 14 year old daughter, Madeline, for the last year now and she loves it! I have seen so much improvement in her voice and confidence both on and off the stage. Ms. Testa is always a patient, yet firm teacher who comes up with creative and fun ways to instruct Madeline in theory, vocal improvisation, and musical expression. Madeline always enjoys going to her lessons and is even more excited to show what she has learned to our relatives. Ms. Testa has even spent extra time with Madeline before auditions for school and community theater (for no extra cost to us). She truly cares about her students and that is why she is such an excellent music teacher. I highly recommend her to everyone in her area!
Although we have only had one lesson for my son, Grey was great. He takes a thoughtful approach and wants to cultivate the love of music and have students walking away with a good experience. He is very knowledgeable and explains things in accessible terms.
David is a pro. All the way. He has been working with my son for a couple years and he couldn't be more thrilled. Take lessons with him because he absolutely WAS voted best guitar teacher in Newton, MA! :)
I consider Dr. Valchinov to be one of the most talented violinist, as well as a very thoughtful person. He has a beautiful, refined, classy tone, as well as a deep understanding of music. He has the interpretation skills to perform music from a broad range of styles and eras; he has a wonderful understanding of classical music, and a charm that shows through his music in a very gentle way. While he was doing his doctorate at Boston University, he has gained the respect of his peers and teachers alike. Dr. Valchinov has a very natural talent, and on stage he is very focused and involved. He creates his own atmosphere and invites audiences into his music. I recommend him as the best violin teacher since he is the most hard working, dedicated musician!
I've had multiple sessions with Josh. He's extremely knowledge about Ableton and music theory in general. Since starting my lessons I've learned how to master my tracks and many different techniques to help make my tracks sound more unique.
Jonas is has been a very positive influence influence in my life as a friend and colleague. He is a great musician and teacher. He knows the guitar very well and there is much to learn from this guy! You will not be disappointed with his services!
She was prompt at getting back to me, had the instruction my children were looking for, and years of experience working with music and children in my community.
It's being the best experience I've ever had with a singing teacher. He not only cares about your goals and adjusting to your own pace, but teaching you how to really feel in the inside and sing like the old great tenors. He knows how to get the most of each class but also is really patience, a key skill because singing properly takes time and a lot of work. I'll definitely recommend him, and I'm sure he'll be my teacher for a lot of years.
Such a great teacher and great energy! Highly recommend.
Johnny is an excellent cello teacher and a phenomenally skilled cellist! He is very thoughtful and pays close attention to the student's technique for both fingering and bowing. Johnny gives great anecdotes and analogies to illustrate how to think about playing a certain song or bow strokes for a certain section, for example. He is fun and patient and readily adapts to what the student needs. I highly recommend Johnny as a cello teacher, for cello students of all levels!
My son has taken drum lessons with Brian for a few years. What we all appreciate was that he was is so flexible with the music my son has to play from typical school music to praise music. He also has been very flexible with the times my son has his lessons. Brian has done an outstanding job both teaching and relating to my son. He has never been short with him but has encouraged him to grow in his music and to learn new and different techniques playing the drums. Brian is one of the few teachers I can honestly say without hesitation the lessons are great quality for the money and the lessons can only help my son to grow in the coming years.
Diane is a great piano teacher! She takes her time and is very patient.
Liana is a great teacher.
Mat Sunday is my violin teacher and as a beginner he is patient and very knowledgeable. I have learned how to read music in a short time of course I still have a lot to learn. In short Mat is a great Teacher! Debi Baker
