Paulo was the perfect man for our basement renovation project. We liked him from the moment we first met him when he came to our house to give his estimate. Paulo came across very knowledgeable - but not boisterous -, friendly and professional. He gave us a quote that was not the lowest and not the highest, but explained us in detail where and why his quote was different from other bids. It was obvious that he was going to be our choice of contractor. Despite wanting to hit the floor running we ran in to a lot of permitting issues with the city of Boston. Paulo stood by us for all the time it took (+6 months) to get all the permits and helped wherever he could. Once the works started things went fast. Paulo's team was punctual, kept everything clean and was amenable to discussing and planning last minute changes to the original plans. If there was a cost change he would always first inform and discuss with us. He was also instrumental in solving some issues that came up while the project was moving along and he personally made sure that his subcontractors (mason, electrician and plumber, respectively) did their jobs according to the plans. At some occasions this even meant having them redo some things. In a couple of months we went from an empty basement to a fully and perfectly finished one-bedroom apartment. In a nutshell, Paulo (M&P home renovations) is and contractor that takes pride in his work. He will handle your project with professionalism and eye for detail and will do it for the right price. We highly recommend him and his team.

Paulo and team were great to work with, they were responsive and flexible as the project changed over time. They worked quickly and helped us stay on our timeline. M&P redid a bathroom, added a wall, replaced a deck and refinished the floors. We will definitely work with Paulo and team again.

Paulo came and gave me an estimate for my project which involved removing a portion of a wall to open up the entryway into the living room. He explained what work needed to be done and a timeline. He was able to get the work done in the promised time while I was away, even working one day over the weekend. He was courteous and drama free. He left no mess, and as a bonus was very sweet with my dog who was left home during the construction. Highly recommend M&P Home Renovation and will use them again myself for the next project on the list.

Paulo was a pleasure to work with. He was very professional and responsive. We just bought the house about a month ago so it needed quick remodels before moving in. It was our first time having to hire a contractor and Paulo made the experience much less stressful than I thought it would be. He worked quickly on our kitchen and floors and they look great.
