I couldn't be more satisfied with Stephanie as a dog walker. She responded to my last minute request. Spent more time than was expected for walk and play time and sent me pictures every day. She has an affinity for animals and people! I highly recommend her for pet walking/sitting.

I always ask Krystal to watch my dogs and cats when my husband and I are out of town. She's the best ever! My dogs are so attached to her that when they hear her car coming they start going ballistic! She's always great with them, really kind and affectionate while being firm and authoritative. Ideal balance, I'd recommend her to anyone needing pet care services!!

Yvonne has been a godsend! My husband was on his last nerve with out recently adopted schnoodle. He wouldn't come, stay or listen to almost anything we wanted and to top things off he was a nuisance barker. After our initial evaluation Yvonnne gave us some homework and within a week we saw a huge change with not much effort on our part!! We hired Yvonne for a six week package for a very reasonable price and have had two of our six lessons and I can say that Max is no longer in danger of going back to the rescue group : ) Her methods are very effective and have made a huge change in our lives with our new family member. Anyone having difficulties with their pet should absolutely have Yvonne work with them.

MacKenzie did a wonderful job. Not only did she care for our cats, but she left everything neat and clean and brought in our mail and packages. She also gave me text updates on how the cats were doing. I’ll definitely be using MacKenzie for all our pet sitting needs.

I hired Wildflower Pet Care to walk my dog a couple times a week when I am at work. My dog has anxiety issues and can be difficult around new people. But it didn’t take long before she warmed up to both Jade and Lisa and is happily going on walks and adventures with them. They update me after each walk with photos and it looks like my dog is smiling in all of them! They are responsive to any of my questions and always let me know the details of the time the spend with my dog. I would definitely recommend this business and I know when my dog is in their care she is both in good hands and having fun!

Karen is wonderful with my dog! Usually after the initial meet & greet I prefer to be at the first few visits until I know my dog and the pet sitter are comfortable with each other. But my dog took yo Karen immediately and I was able to skip that step very comfortably. My dog fell in love with her instantly, and he is usually a very cautious dog. And as dog lovers know, we can trust their instincts. Karen has been so flexible and goes above & beyond. I'm so grateful I found her!

Emily has been taking care of our "baby" Belle for the past few years. There is nothing better than going on vacation and feeling so comfortable that our home and our pets are well taken care of. She takes such good care of Belle, and I think Belle is sad when its us coming through the door and not Emily. She spoils them and the house is as clean as I left it. I highly recommend Emily to everyone and anyone that loves their pets and doesn't want to put them in a kennel while you vacation!

I was lucky to have Allyson's help with my older dog. She was understanding, trustworthy, and was a great comfort to me knowing that my golden retriever was with a dog lover. Allyson was great. Anyone would be fortunate to find such a person if you need help with your pet.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much should you pay for a pet sitter?

Pet sitting provides your precious pet with in-home care. A pet-sitter can make a brief visit during the day to provide snacks, playtime or affection, or stay at your house for one or more nights to tend to your pet. Prices for pet-sitting will vary based on length of the visit. Nationally, pet sitting prices range from $20 to $30, although prices run higher for your sitter to stay the night. Prices will also be affected by where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pet-sitting prices based on length of time and region:

    • 30-minute visit: $17 in a small Texas town.
    • 30-minute visit: $25 in Southern California.
      • 45-minute visit: $28.
      • 60-minute visit: $32.
    • Overnight stay (10 hours): $50 in Texas.
    • Overnight stay (10 hours): $85 in Southern California.
      • 12 hours: $100.
      • 24 hours: $200. This is a good option for a sick, elderly or brand-new pet that needs constant supervision.

How much does it cost to hire a house sitter?

House-sitting can be a lifesaver when you’re leaving town for any length of time. Whether you work remotely, you’re taking a much-needed vacation, or you just want to road-trip for a few days, it’s wise to have a pro keep an eye on your house and pets while you’re gone. Your home is more likely to stay safe and you won’t have to wrangle the kitty into a kennel to travel with you. The national average pet-sitting price ranges between $20 and $30. Pet-sitting and house-sitting costs will vary based on where you live in the country and regional labor rates. Another factor in cost is how long you want the house-sitter to stay. Some people prefer to have the house-sitter stay the night at their house, perhaps to care for an elderly pet or simply to keep a watchful eye on the home at all times. Overnight stays will cost more, ranging anywhere from $50 to $100, depending on services provided. For day visits, house-sitting and pet-sitting prices will increase incrementally the longer the visit and the more service you want performed. For example, a quick 10-minute visit to feed and walk the pet and bring in the mail could be $12.50, a 25-minute visit could be $18, a 40-minute visit $25, and a 50-minute visit $32. 7 year old female weim; unpredictable on leash with other dogs and people on wheels (prey drive). I have a fenced in yard which would suffice for the few days if you felt uncomfortable walking herb (please mention), but would love someone with great leash control and experience with high-strung, anxious dogs. You would need to stay here, in JP.
